Dior Silver Look # 775. An eye duo with multiple looks

Part of the Dior Fall 2008 collection is the Silver Look eye shadow duo. This is an awesome duo with a matte brown shadow and a complimentary sheer, shimmery silver shadow. Dior has 8 different combinations of shades in this eye duo package and it retails for $35 usd.
The color combinations are:
Black Out Look - (matte black/ white shimmer)
Bronzy Look - (matte dark brown/ copper shimmer)
Nude Look - (matte reddish brown/ beige gold shimmer)
Pop Look - (matte chocolate brown/ coral shimmer)
Purple Look - (matte burgundy purple/ pale pink shimmer)
Silver Look - (matte gray/ silver shimmer)
Tropical Look - (matte warm brown/ pale lime green shimmer)
Watery Look - (matte navy blue/ pale blue shimmer)

The colors can be worn alone or layered to create a three dementional look. I was drawn to the Silver Look duo when I swatched the silver shadow OVER brown shadow. It created such a lovely taupe-y brown shimmer I just had to have it. Hellloooo TAUPE!

The shadows are very soft and the blend very well. The brown shadow is very matte and VERY pigmented. I have tried a few different application techniques, stiff brush, fluffy brush, sponge applicator, etc. They all produce excellent results. The Silver shadow is also very soft but much more sheer than the matte shadow. It is also very blendable. I particularly like to use a fluffy brush to lightly dust the silver shadow over the brown to change the color.

Dior includes an application guide in their duo. It's a bite easier drawn than done...but that could also be my inefficient application skills. I still manage to get a decent enough look out of it.

I have worn this duo about 3 different times now and each time I achieve a different look. I'm really satisfied with it. It's versatile enough to wear conservatively at the office and for a sexy smokey eye for night. This is fast becoming one of my go-to quick eye's when it's 5:30 am and I'm too tired to think about how to apply my eye makeup. If I were to purchase a second duo I think I might get the Purple Look which is a matte burgundy and pale pink shimmer. Either way, I really don't think I can go wrong with any of them.
