Dior cosmetics has come out with a new Crème de Gloss line. Let me just say "Potential Holy Grail lip gloss product!!!"
The Crème de Gloss line is a combination of lip gloss and lipstick. I have always liked Dior Addict Glosses I used up 2 of the same color (now called Jersey Pink) and I think I finished 2 different Dior Addict Lipsticks. That’s quite an accomplishment for me. I love the texture of the gloss. Itisn’t sticky and it’s fairly well lasting. I adore the slip and shine of the lipstick. It’s sheer yet shiny…only it doesn’t last as long as I would like. Now I have a happy medium of the 2 in the Crème de Gloss. The feel of this product on the lips is creamy. Duh. But really it is. It's not lip gloss sticky and not lipstick waxy.
the color of this swatch is slightly warmer than the real color
I was recently gifted a Crème de Gloss in Fig Nectar (#641). I have been wearing this color for a few days straight. It’s my go to color for a pinky-mauvey-shimmery lip. The shimmer is silvery and the coverage is opaque to semi transparent. It really is such a flattering shade that I believe many women of different colors could wear this. Sometime pink shades make me look sickly and yellow. This one looks so natural on me that if not for the shimmer, it could be mistaken for my natural lip color…if I had any color in my lips. (they are a pasty white as I am)
I love that the Crème de Gloss is actually moisturizing. I know a lot of cosmetic companies claim that their products are moisturizing but this one really does seem to be the case…at least for me. When most other lip products wear off my lips feel dry and tight. When Crème de Gloss wears off my lips are still soft for a while! I almost forget to reapply. I've applied this on my lips in the morning when they felt a tad chapped and lo and behold they felt a tad more moisturized after a while.
This product does have a scent to it, as I am terrible in describing scents, I will say this is is a fresh yet subtle scent that does not linger once applied and does not have any taste at all. Those sensitive to fragranced products might want to steer clear of the Crème de Gloss only because it does have fragrance…but really it is hardly noticeable.
As you can see from the top picture the packaging is standard Dior (of the moment) packaging. Dior changes their packaging too often. I guess it’s good because then I can spot old product but I have never been a fan of navy & gold so I’m glad Dior switched to the navy and silver look. It’s less gaudy. The applicator is a doe foot. And while I have rallied and ranted for years about how much I hate doe foot applicators I do like them with this formula. I believe a brush would make it too streaky on the lips and more difficult to apply. A similar product from Chanel called Crème Gloss Lumière has a brush as well as a click pen delivery method. It just makes the gloss goopy and hard to apply properly. I much prefer Dior’s formula to the Chanel.
Do I love this gloss YES!!! Do I want more colors? YES!!! Click on KarlaSugar’s blog to see all the swatches. And run and get one of these fab items today!!

i should do more swatches but i know karla has a plenty. i should have at least swatch the Asia EX ones... :P
great review and excellent choice of colour!
That is a gorgeous shade. I have never used Dior Addict L/G, maybe I will have to rectify that. IMO I actually prefer doe foot for most gloss, I find the application easier and smoother. Thanks for the excellen review!
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a good review! I have been keeping my eye on them but haven't wanted to jump in yet. I may have to now.
ReplyDeleteOh Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI wish such colours suited me!!
hi jojoba: I would love to see a review of the Asia Exclusive Dior!!!
ReplyDelete/lachesis: It's my go to color right now. You will really like this gloss. it's a nice indulgence!
Autumn_masquerade: Thank you for the compliment. I'm usually reading your reviews thinking, why can't I be more to the point rather than blah blah blah!! You must must must get at least one! I'm trying to decide if I need another...but I doubt it.
glow chaser: Nice to hear from you. I think that there are some warmer shades that would suit you very well. check out jojoba's blog she has some colors you might like!
I hate you. I want this even more now! lol
ReplyDeleteOh girl...where do I even begin...I'm just sorry I came to your blog late, oh well better late than never, right?
ReplyDeleteOkay so about a year ago I developed this very strange lip aversion - I don't know what it is but lipsticks/lipglosses I once wore religiously (MAC and Benefit) I can no longer wear because they dry my lips out and make them itch and peel like CRAZY - not cute especially when the color flakes off and leaves a glittery mess! SO just my luck, NARS and (some) Chanel glosses haven't disturbed my lips. I came across the Dior Creme de Gloss via Janet Jackson photo on this month's Bazaar magazine. I hunted down this shade at Sephora - tried it on and it was perfect. I'd say the scent is reminscent of green tea...whatever it is, it's pleasant! My lips are happy I found this gloss but my wallet weeps!
Lexi: Honestly. If you want to save money. Stop reading my blog right now. I will bring yo to the poor house! MUWAHAHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteI have this in the exact same shade. I'm very pale with red hair but this doesn't look too murky or ruddy on me. I think doefoot is good for this formula, makes it apply smoothly into a shiny finish. Yum.
