Artie

My sweet bulldog Artie died last night. you might remember him from the lip gloss chewing incident. He was a sweet dog, if not a little destructive, but sweet none the less. He would bark at you if you stopped petting him, he loved eating the cat's food, he was the Alpha dog in the house even though he was only 50 pounds and about 1/2 the size of his big brother Floyd, and he slept with his tongue sticking out. He had a seizure at 6pm last night and my husband rushed him to our vet. They stabilized him and he came home. He was tired but seemed back to his own self. Then 4 hours later he had another seizure and my husband rushed him to the 24 hour emergency care vet. He continued to have 2 more seizures at the emergency vet and the decision was made to put him down. Had we not, he would have had to be sedated 24/7 (possibly for weeks) to run multiple tests and scans and there was no guarantee that he would have another seizure during this time. It was not a way to live. My brave husband had to make this difficult decision on his own as I didn't hear the phone ring. I'm sorry he had to go through that alone and I'm sorry that Artie is gone and I'm sorry that his big brother Floyd is alone and I'm sorry that my son Darthypie won't remember him. I'll miss you ArtieFartie.
