What better way to start the week coming off of a 3 day weekend with Taupe Eyeshadow?
OK. I really don't need a reason to talk about taupe eye shadow. In fact I'm tempted to talk about taupe eyeshadow all week, but we will just see if I have the energy and a thesaurus diverse enough to do so. In the meantime, I bring you Lancome Color Focus Eyeshadow in Click.
Yes. It's a plummy taupe and could also be classified as a warm, brown taupe with a satin finish. It's close to Chanel Vega, but I hesitate to call it a dupe, however it is nice enough to wear in lieu of Vega.
Lancome Color Focus Shadow comes in a smart little compact where the clear lid slides out to reveal the shadow. The shadow is harder than some out there but it's not rock hard. It's equal to that of MAC shadow in terms of hardness. It is smooth in application and does not leave any fallout on my cheeks or in my eyes! I find that you can layer Lancome Click easily without it looking chalky or cakey. It's nice and subtle enough for a neutral daytime look and could possibly be paired with a darker shadow for a more dramatic smokey eye evening look.

If you are warm toned, this shadow does have a tendency to turn a bit plummy on you so beware. If you are more into grey taupes as this is truly a plummy brown taupe so not even in the same league. I, however, am an equal taupe wearing user and will wear and love all colors of the taupe rainbow. Can you imagine such a thing? A Taupe Rainbow? LOL. OK. Perhaps I think too much about taupe. But that's why you love me!
The durability of Lancome Click shadow is decent with long wear and good coverage for more than 8 hours with a primer. It has no glitter to it and while it is categorized as a shimmer, I think it wears more like a satin. Click does not seem to have a tendency to make my crepey eyelids look worse as some overly frosty shadows do. That's a huge plus. All in all. I'm quite pleased with this color and product.
Do you NEED it? Well, let's just say that Click is one of the more popular shades that is included in Gift With Purchase (GWP) palettes from Lancome. You might just bide your time until you see it offered as a GWP instead of forking over $17 USD for a single. I couldn't resist, even though I do have it in a GWP size. The GWP I carry with me in my purse for a "Taupe Emergency". Granted I have never ever had a "Taupe Emergency", but you can never be too careful or prepared...right? The full size Lancome Click stays in my train case mingling with all the other taupes until it's called up to the big league....my eyes.
I think its important to be prepared for emergencies - so carry on with carrying the GWP taupe!
ReplyDeleteHi Elvira, stop torturing me! LOL now I have to stalk GWP Addict until Bloomies, Macy's, Bergdorf, or Saks has a GWP =( sigh.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think that I will need to wait for a GWP because I feel like that color could be substituted easily with another color.
ReplyDeleteYour taupe eyeshadow posts crack me up! Keep em coming.
ReplyDeleteJ: TY for seeing my POV. Taupe emergencies are dire if one does not have a taupe to rectify the situation.
ReplyDeleteJoey and Y: Stalk the GWPs it's not worth the full price.
Lynette: TY. I try. P.S. Apologies for leaving you off my blog roll for a few days. I updated the domain name & all my blogs disappeared. I had to reconstruct from memory. Your blog is there now. :-)
I have this GWP Taupe! And it is gorgeous! I love Lancome!
ReplyDeleteI had a Lancome quad with this taupe in it that I used up and then couldn't tell what the color was, so I started googling and ended up here! This is the perfect taupe for me, I have been treasuring the little pot in my quad for ever! I have too light of a complexion for browns, golds or peaches and my eyes are sort of a grey/blue/green so are tricky to play up, but this taupe does the trick. Silvery browns and plums are perfect for me, so this is literally the perfect color. I like the slight rainbow shimmer if you look very, very closely. Thanks for the post, I now know what color taupe to stockpile!
