I need another highlighter like I need a hole in my head. It’s true. I have a kazillion (read 12) highlighters in my possession… and those are the ones I used on a regular basis. I have no idea how many I might have in my storage box (Probably 3), however, when I saw a picture of the Missha M Shimmering Oven Blusher on The Lotus Palace Blog I KNEW I HAD to have it. Even though you see my comment on Kathi's blog, I had talked myself out of it. I managed to talk myself back into it.
The Missha M Shimmering Oven Blusher No. 11 combines some of my favorite things:
Korean Makeup, Baked Powder, Swirled Colors, Highlighter and Something Hard to get!
Yes. I really wanted this highlighter but a whopping price tag of $46 on evilbay was not helping me. I pushed the lemming aside, thinking that I would probably never get it. But then Betsy at Autumn Masquerade was having a blog sale! Whoo hoo! She had one for sale. For much less than I had seen it priced anywhere else, I picked up that little sucker faster than you can say “I can’t believe you got yet another highlighter Elvira!”
OK. In like 3 days time the highlighter arrives! I love beauty bloggers that understand the immediacy of needing a highlighter! I open it up and I swear to the makeup gods I heard angels sing! I then realized the TV was on the St. Olaf Choir performance and turned it off.

The Shimmering Oven Blusher comes in a sturdy purple metallic plastic case. A single faux diamond adorns the top. When you open up this hefty highlighter a curved blush brush welcomes you. It sits atop the plastic protector which is not flimsy like the ones that come with MAC’s MSFs. The brush stores nicely inside and since the protector is sturdy there is no need to toss either the brush or the plastic. Win!

The highlighter itself is a piece of beauty. I will warn you that it does have a scent. It smells like rosewater. What a lovely surprise! I love anything that smells like roses! The highlighter has swirls of blue, pink, silver and gold against an ivory base. It is shimmery in the pan, but when applied to the face the shimmer just melts into your skin. You are left with a glow and some subtle shimmer. The shimmer is definitely much finer than that of MAC MSFs but not as fine as those of BECCA PSPs. There is a good possibility of over applying this highlighter if you use a regular powder brush. If that is the case, you might want to actually use the enclosed brush since it lifts a small amount from the product and deposits it nicely on your cheeks and forehead and nose.

The powder itself is hard as most oven baked powders are, however I have not had a problem with getting enough product on my brush. I think the fact that it is harder than most normal blusher/highlighters helps in lessening the shimmer overload that one can get at times with softer products.
Do you need this? YES! If you love shimmer highlighters, Love Korean Makeup and Love Baked Blushes. In reality, you probably really don’t need it, but how can I say no to a lovely highlighter like this? If anything it’s so pretty just to look at. If I ever have a vanity in my room, this is one item I would display proudly!
That is Equisite! Very taupe-worthy!
ReplyDeleteThat swatch looks like UD Ruthless!! Oh Elvira, you and highlighters is like me and...hm, red eyeshadows? Black lipsticks? LMAO =D but wow, that is so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteHi Elvira,
