One would think that after so many reviews on taupe eye shadow I would run out of things to say.HA!
I could never run out of things to say about taupe eye shadow. That would be akin to running out of air! So what do I have to say about this new taupe from Gosh cosmetics? Let’s start a few weeks back.
[cue flashback music and slow dissolve to august 5th, 2009]
I had just finished professing my love for Gosh Cosmetics Glamorous Eye Shadow in Bottle Green in my post HERE. I had mentioned in my post that Gosh made a taupe shadow called #14 Grey Brown, in the Glamorous formula and how I wished that I could purchase it here in the states. Some VERY VERY kind readers contacted me and offered to send me this shadow. One of which, is a lovely reader named DJ. She sent me the shadow and a little extra. I hope that I can return the favor to her one of these days. Not only did wonderful DJ send me the Gosh Cosmetics Shadow she also sent me a cream shadow by MeMeMe cosmetics (Found exclusively at Superdrug in the UK) called Colurama. Oh how the angels in heaven did sing when I ripped open the envelope from the UK. Not one but TWO taupe shadows to indulge in!
[fast forward to present time using a montage of me running through a field of wildflowers with the 2 shadows, sharing ice cream, taking walks in the rain, sitting by the fireplace at night curled up with a warm blanket and the shadows, etc.]Let’s start with the Gosh shadow.

The Gosh Glamorous Eye Shadow Taupe is a gray brown. It is neutral, leaning towards cool. It is an excellent color for an all over wash and would be wonderful paired with BECCA Lame in the crease. The shadow itself is a wet/dry shadow so the dry application is quite sheer and semi sparkly. Not over the top sparkle, I guess it’s more shimmery. Applied using a damp brush the shadow is an opaque metallic taupe. It truly is a thing of beauty. A metallic silvery brown. Oh how beautiful! The shadow lasts all day (with a primer) and wears well applied wet or dry.

Now, the Me Me Me Colourama cream shadow in Molten Brown is magical.
It is the exact same color as the Gosh eye shadow! I have used this shadow as a base (without primer) and NO CREASING! Used as a base with the Gosh Glamorous Taupe shadow I get a really intense color without all the work. Used alone, I can layer the cream shadow for a more opaque look and sheer it out as I go up to my brow bone. I might be sad that Gosh isn’t sold in the US, but I am absolutely devastated that Me Me Me isn’t sold here. It is seriously one of the nicest cream shadows I have worn. I love the doe foot applicator as it prevents me from using too much on one eye (I tend to over squeeze on tube cream shadows). I adore the fact that it dries quickly. I love that the shadow is layerable* without getting cakey* and I love that it lasts all day without creasing. DJ said this was a drugstore brand, so now I cry even more for the fact that we are deprived of Me Me Me cosmetics in the States. Not only is is an excellent product, it is relatively inexpensive!
Are you reading this Me Me Me? We NEED you here in the USA. Trust me. I know a TON of women that would buy your products. Please come here and bring Gosh Cosmetics with you!I’m not even going to do the “Do you need this” business. You know you do. Better start finding friends in the UK and make a plea for these shadows!
EOTD using MeMeMe Molten Brown as a base, Gosh Glamorous Eye Shadow in #14 Grey Brown, BECCA Barbarella cake liner, Coffret D'Or Star Dazzling Liner in BK-29, and Fairy Drops Mascara.

* Yes. I know "layerable" and "cakey" are not real words.
