Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. I love when the air gets cold and crisp. I love the fresh air and the cool breezes and the rustle of leaves. Autumn also means Football. Not Futbol. American Football was a complete mystery to me before I married Mr. Sith. He patiently explained the game to me. Once I got to know the players and what was going on I loved the game as much as he did. I’m a huge Washington Redskins fan…namely because it’s my home town team and mostly because if I wasn’t, Mr. Sith would divorce me. Well the Redskins are having a terrible season and they have only played 3 out of 16 games. Reading the comments on the Redskins fan pages you would wonder why so many Dallas Cowboy fans are commenting on a Redskins Fan page. Yeah. The comments are really negative. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not happy with the performance of the team, coaches and owner, but I’m not going to boycott or cheer for another team. People that do that are bandwagon fans. They hop on the bandwagon when the Redskins win and hop off as soon as they lose. I detest those kind of “fans” because they aren’t really fans. They just want to root for a winner. We all want to root for a winner but sometimes you have to take the bad with the good. So I’ll still root for the Redskins even if they do suck. I’ll just look forward to the Washington Capitals Hockey season coming up. Thank you for putting up with my sports talk. I promise not to do this too often. On to the poll!
1. Lip of the day? – Chanel Rouge allure in Naïve. I just realized why I adore Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Ming so much. It looks pretty much like Naïve! Well now I have to colors that I love.
2. Do you keep the boxes that your makeup comes in? (e.g. eye shadow, lipstick) – No not on purpose. I might forget to throw it out, but for the most part I toss them as soon as possible. However I do hold on to the boxes until I’m sure I will like the product…just in case I need to return.
3. What are some of your favorite GUILTY pleasure TV shows? (A TV show that may not be very good or liked by most people but you’ll watch it over & over again because it’s so bad it’s good) – I guess I would have to say COPS and The Real Housewives franchise. I’m so ashamed!
4. What brand(s) do you think Sephora should drop? What brand(s) do you think they should they carry? – I think they need to drop: Lancome, Clinique, Clarins and Bare Escentuals…and maybe even Smashbox. Mostly because you can get those brands at any major department store (with the exception to BE and Smashbox). I would love to see them carry BECCA (again), Paul & Joe (again), Vincent Longo (again), Giorgio Armani, Chanel (again), Besame, Edward Bess and Lipstick Queen.

4. For me, it would be Clinique and Smashbox - I never look at those, or wear them. I wish they would pick up Becca and Besame as well - I love looking at the shades online, but would love even more to try them out in person!

I just got the Barbie Loves Stila Smudge Pots and the packing is banged up so I am actually thinking of going to the store to exhange them - yah I know I am weird. I do throw some packing but I hold on to the prettier one eg HK kitty-printed boxes or the Style Warrior leopard print boxes from M.A.C.

3.The Nanny, I looooove it. I mostly watch old shows on re-runs, all the new ones get cancelled anyway so I don't even let myself get hooked. I watch Judge Judy every now and then, but I'm not ashamed to say it, so it doesn't really qualify as guilty pleasure, right?
4.Kat Von D. I don't like celebrity lines, if they really liked make up/perfumes, they'd be in that field, not just slapping their name on it to get richer. Plus KVD is basically Sephora brand anyway.

Drop: Clinique, Lancome, Smashbox (easy to to get at other places even in Canada - Smashbox is also carried at SDM now)
Carry: I mostly wish that they would carry the same brands in Canada, but Paul & Joe, Giorgio Armani, Lipstick Queen. Actually a store called MURALE just opened here which is very similar to Sephora except they carry Chanel and Bobbi Brown in addition to most of the usual Sephora brands... plus it`s the same points program as Shoppers Drugmart which is so much nicer. You redeem the points on actual cash to spend in-store, not samples :P

Japanese dramas based on manga/comics - they're usually really cheesy these days, but that predictability can be comforting.

They should drop the brands that are easily found in dept. stores or have lots of their own free standing stores (i.e. BE). I'd love for them to carry Becca, Vincent Longo, Besame, Lipstick Queen, Bloom, Paul & Joe, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, etc., and more niche but still mid-priced fragrance brands like Elizabeth W (?), Crazylibellule and the Poppies, etc.

ReplyDelete2. Boxes - Very rarely, and usually even then I eventually realize it's silly and toss them. It took me a LONG time to toss the box for Barbie Don't Be Shy blush...
3. Guilty Pleasure TV - Oh gosh. I guess People's Court counts, but I love it so much. I also have been known to watch an episode of COPS or lately Police Women of Broward County which is basically COPS but they all have big boobs. But they're scary I wouldn't want to be on the business end of their policework. =X
4. Sephora Brands - They should drop Clinique. Especially the one at my mall where you could practically spit into a Bloomingdales from the entrance to Sephora, and they carry Clinique *right there*. :P Maybe they could still carry it online or something. I would propose that Sephora carry MUFE at *all* stores, not just the big ones, and also add Illamasqua to the regular store lineup. Lipstick Queen would be cool too because it's pretty HTF here in the states. Becca is a mystery to me because you can't seem to find it anywhere and that doesn't seem like good business, lol. Vincent Longo should come back too, but idk what's up with their brand they're discontinuing everything. o.0 I don't think it's going outta business though I think it's a massive re-vamp. I'd love to see Sephora or Ulta pick up more boutique skincare lines like Renee Rouleau, too!

Charlie & Lola and The Powerpuff Girls (though I watch both on video). Both shows are excellent. The guilty pleasure is watching children's shows in one's 40s.
