Thursday Poll

As I type this post I have a ton of splotches allover my hand and I'm wearing black and green lips. Yes. You guessed it. I got my OCC Lip Tars in the mail. By next month I should be able to do an intensive review of them. If you wish to buy them before my review, OCC has a discount code TAS09 which has been reinstated through Monday, October 26th. Get 20% Off Lip Tar & Loose Colour and $50.00 USD off of all of OCC's airbrush systems. You can find OCC's website here
So ANYWAY, it feels like Christmas because no only did my lip tars come in the mail, but my Sephora Friends & Family (FF) order arrived. For those that live outside of the United States, count yourself lucky that you don't have the FF discount. Yes. I said it. DON'T. Honestly. I think people order stuff just because they are getting 20% off. I know I was guilty of that last year. Helloooo I ordered the Fresh Rose Face Mask. WTF? That SH*T is expensive...even with the 20% off. This year I limited myself to one item. The Dior Smoky Crystal eye shadow quint. And may I say... it is prettier in real life. I didn't think it was possible but it is. As I was saying. This "sale" has some people on a spending spree. Honestly I can't do it anymore. For one I don't have the money, and secondly, I honestly think I have enough makeup right now.
Wait for it...
No. Do not look out your window. Pigs are not flying. I just think I'm in a good place makeup wise. I'm sure I will have a few things I pick up here and there, but honestly I think I'm good. Now, that is NOT to say I won't have things to write about. No. I have a ton of stuff to write about. Don't you worry (Like you really were worried. Please. You don't need to humor me. I know you weren't)
So now that we have that all settled let's get on to the poll shall we?

1. Lip Of The Day? - OCC Lip tar in Tarred and Botanical. (Black & Green) Hey it isn't pretty, but I'm having fun. Plus I'm at home. I wouldn't wear this out in public...as far as you know.

2. TV or Movie where you specifically noticed the makeup and LIKED it? - Well not many people watched this show but Better Off Ted was an excellent show. Very funny!. Andrea Anders, who played Linda in the show, always had the most awesome taupey/silvery/smokey eye makeup in each episode. Portia de Rossi is always beautiful so it doesn't take much to make her look good, but honestly she looked outstanding in each and every episode. Lizbeth Williamson was the key makeup artist on most of the episodes and I just found out that she does Katy Segal's makeup on another favorite show The Sons of Anarchy! I would love to meet this woman one day and watch her work. That would be a thrill!

3. What is your most hated chore on the household chore list? - Mine has to be vacuuming. I really hate doing it. I think because we have wood floors and rugs. The strings on the ends of the rugs get caught in the vacuum and then it makes an awful noise. Oh, and Floydiepie wants to attack the vacuum cleaner every time I use it. I just let Mr. Sith vacuum while I walk Floydiepie.

4. Recent Beauty Purchase(s)? - OCC Lip Tars & Dior Quint and I got that Sedu Flat Iron. I was in Ulta and it was right there in front of me. I had to get it. Oh and I LOVE it!

5. What’s your favorite line from any movie? - My Favorite move is Gone With The Wind and I love it when Scarlett says. "I won't worry about that today. I'll worry about that tomorrow." But my favorite line is from Mommy Dearest. I love when Joan Crawford Says. "Don't f*ck with me fellas. This ain't my first time at the rodeo!" But right now it has to be the line from Zombieland where Jesse Eisenberg's character says to Woody Harrelson's character. "I'm gonna take The Browns To The Superbowl." (You figure out what that means)

  1. 1. Lip Of The Day?

At the moment it is Almay One Coat lipstick in Luscious over EOB Summer Fruit lip balm. I might change it after my first office coffee (notice the word "first")

    2. TV or Movie where you specifically noticed the makeup and LIKED it?

Audrey Horne's makeup (and hair and wardrobe) in Twin Peaks. I guess I should say Sherilynn Fenn's. Audrey was the best character. Everyone at work said I looked like her (basically because she had my wardrobe, lol).

I LOVE Asumpta Serna's makeup (and wardrobe) and Eva Soler's makeup in Pedro Almadovar's movie Matador. Both STUNNING and Serna's RED LIPS!!!!! I also have a soft spot for all of "The Eyes of Laura Mars".

    3. What is your most hated chore on the household chore list?

Hmmm. DH does all of the household chores because he doesn't like the way I do things. Dishes, I think, is the chore I hate the most. I like laundrey and don't mind cleaning the tub, toilet, etc.

    4. Recent Beauty Purchase(s)?

EOS lip balms in Summer Fruits and Honeysuckle Honeydew and two Prestige e/s from the junk shop.

    5. What’s your favorite line from any movie?

"I can't GET happy. It's physically impossible for me to get happy." or whatever the exact line is from "Sixteen Candles". I've paraphrased for two decades!

  2. 1. Lip Of The Day? - Chanel Rouge Allure in Obscure. Yah, I caved and got all the lippies for the Noir Obscures collection cuz I have no willpower.

    2. TV or Movie where you specifically noticed the makeup and LIKED it? - Last time I really noticed it was was when Pushing Daisies was on, I loved the vintage yet quircky style they had on that show. Can't specify any movies for now.

    3. What is your most hated chore on the household chore list? - Cleaning esp the bathrooms. I so want a maid.

    4. Recent Beauty Purchase(s)? - Guerlain Imperial Holiday stuff which I picked up last night.

    5. What’s your favorite line from any movie? - Ohhh I love Gone with The Wind. I love "As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again. " And of course who can forget the end "Tara! Home. I'll go home. And I'll think of some way to get him back. After all tomorrow is another day."

  3. Lip of the Day? Weeelll, started out as NYX Gloss in Chestnut and will probably change to the NYX Gloss in Iced Latted that has a permanent place on my desk @ work.

Movie or TV show where I notice the makeup and liked it? Hmmmm, well to tell the truth I watch a shizload of QVC, mostly when the Makeup Shows are on, and I notice techniques. Bobbi Brown can NOT do those lovely eyeliners she sells a ton of, however Holly from Smashbox can line like no ones business. Laura Geller doesn't do too bad either, But Mally Roncal is the bomb!

Hated household chore? ALL of it. But if I have to pick one, dusting. What's the point, it gets dusty again (yeah, and dishes get dirty again and clothes and all), but for some reason dusting really gets my butt tired.

Recent Beauty purchase? Prescriptives Warm Holiday palette.
And Yes, I DID cave on Sephora F&F, so Fresh Sugar Starlight kit, Too Faced Snow Bunny and two Buxom Lips glosses (in a kit).

Favorite Line from any Movie? Can't chose just one, Barbara Streisand in Funny Girl or Funny Lady.."Helllloooooo Gorgeous!" is one, also anything Bette Davis.."What a Dump!!!" or "Fasten your Seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night!" and yes, anything Scarlett had to say in Gone With the Wind. Also Mae West, the WHOLE line is, "If you have nothin' to do, and pleny of time to do it in, why don't you come up and see me some time!"

  4. 1. Lip Of The Day? - As per usual, I'm filling this out in the early morning and I am bare-lipped, save some lip balm.

    2. TV or Movie where you specifically noticed the makeup and LIKED it? - My boyfriend took me to see Speed Racer (yeah.) and while the movie wasn't my favorite, the makeup is awesome!!! Lots of really fun looks, and some pretty soft ones on Speed's mom.

    3. What is your most hated chore on the household chore list? - All of them...??? But most of all I hate litterbox duty. I don't think I need to explain that one any further.

    4. Recent Beauty Purchase(s)? - Did I tell you or did I tell you about the Sedu?! lol. Um, I haven't been buying much beauty stuff lately 'cause I've been broke, but I just found L'Oreal HiP paints at the 99 cent store, so I got 3. =X $3!!! I've gone wild.

    5. What’s your favorite line from any movie? - Ehh I never was one to quote movies very often (except for the obligatory Napoleon Dynamite-isms) although...and this is really going to out myself as a classless nerd, I really love the movie Beavis & Butthead Do America if only for the part where Butthead is trying to hit on Chelsea Clinton and he says "hey baby, I see you have braces. I have braces too."

    1. Lip Of The Day?

Hard Candy Painted Lady Lipstick in Night Out. It wasn't quite a Black Honey knock-off unless you just pressed it on gently. I put it on like any other quick lipstick from the diaper bag, and I turned into Goth-mom at the grocery store picking up potatoes and hot pockets. I like it, though. It will be a great date night lip.

I wanted Fire Alarm, but the two they had were well used.

    2. TV or Movie where you specifically noticed the makeup and LIKED it?

I usually only notice futuristic looks from films. Milla Jovovich in The Fifth Element and Charlize Theron in Aeon Flux totally blew my mind.

    3. What is your most hated chore on the household chore list?

    bathroom

    4. Recent Beauty Purchase(s)?

The Hard Candy lipstick and Smashbox Ultra Glam Beauty Kit.

    5. What’s your favorite line from any movie?

Anything from In Bruges, the best movie ever and probably best not discussed in polite company.

  6. 1. Lip Of The Day? - Well my LOTD from yesterday was Benefit Lady's Choice lipstick. Right now I'm still in bed =/

    2. TV or Movie where you specifically noticed the makeup and LIKED it? - Hm...Mommie Dearest! The Joan Crawford smear is classic, yo.

    3. What is your most hated chore on the household chore list? - Dusting, only because I'm allergic to dust. So I have to wear a mask. I LOVE cleaning though.

    4. Recent Beauty Purchase(s)? - My Sephora F&F order of NARS Brousse and Taiga e/s duos =)

    5. What’s your favorite line from any movie? - Hm, Ricky Fitz in American Beauty, when he's speaking to Lester: "Never underestimate the power of denial."
