Thursday Poll



I have an irrational fear of insects and spiders. I hate them and I want nothing to do with them. This is the main reason I don't go camping..that and the thought of sleeping on the ground does not appeal to me. My idea of "roughing it" is staying at a hotel without room service. I think the stork was drunk and dropped me off at the wrong house. I think I should have been a princess or heiress or something like that. The life of luxury calls to me daily. From the minute I turn off my 5am alarm to the second my head hits the less than 500 thread count pillowcase at night I KNOW deep in my heart that I should really be a lady who lunches, a woman that shops at Neimans with my personal shopper buying handbags and shoes and dresses for galas etc. It's very painful being a diva trapped in a common person's body. I need a trust fund and a nanny. Instead I have a jar full of pennies and a pack of diapers. So why the whiny "I wanna be rich" diatribe? Because I realized my life is not complete until I own a pair of Christian Louboutin Anemone Bow Shoes.
Sure they don't make them anymore but that's besides the point. I NEED them.

1. Lip Of The Day? - Guerlain Rouge G in Gracia #66. Yeah. I bit the bullet, but I bought it at a discount. Call me a hypocrite I don't care. I'll be busy applying my Rouge G lipstick while you hate!

2. What is the longest book you ever read? - Ugh. Is it low brow of me to say "It" by Stephen King? Damn long book....and Scary.

3. What makeup do you carry with you in your purse every day? - MAC Blot, Lipstick of the day and probably 5 more because I forget to take them out of my purse, and Concealer.

4. Do you have a similar yearning for an expensive pair of shoes, purse, coat, etc? - Well obviously you see my answer above. I would also like a Cartier Love bracelet and a Chanel Purse...but I haven't decided which one I want.

5. When was the last time you washed your makeup brushes? - Me 2 weeks ago, but I didn't use them for a week after because I was home with Darthypie all week and didn't bother with makeup. I'll wash them this weekend. I promise.

    2. What is the longest book you ever read? - Fiction? Probably Gone with The Wine. Otherwise, I'm sure it was some horribly boring church history textbook in college.

    3. What makeup do you carry with you in your purse every day? - MAC Blot, lipstick of the day, black eyeliner, mascara, mini perfume, Stila miniature CC in Peony

    4. Do you have a similar yearning for an expensive pair of shoes, purse, coat, etc? - I want a classic Chanel quilted bag...and a pair of Choos....

    5. When was the last time you washed your makeup brushes? - Washed my most-loved e/s brush last night,the rest were washed over the weekend.

  3. 1. Lip Of The Day? - Edward Bess Night Romance lipstick. My review of this will be coming soon =D such a gorgeous lipstick with a moisturizing, long-lasting formula.

    2. What is the longest book you ever read? - Hm, either Tolstoy's "War and Peace" or Foucault's "History of Madness". Not sure which one was longer.

    3. What makeup do you carry with you in your purse every day? -I carry whatever I'm wearing for the day plus at least 5 hair elastics and a tube of Aquaphor. And a perfume decant.

    4. Do you have a similar yearning for an expensive pair of shoes, purse, coat, etc? - I want a pair of Frye boots and a LV Speedy. Very overdone, I know, but here in NYC they're both very basic items. And I'm annoyed that I can drop the price eqivalent of both items EASILY on makeup but not on those two items, sigh.

    5. When was the last time you washed your makeup brushes? - Sunday night.

  4. 1. Lip of the day? Will be chapstick but I'm too lazy to have put even THAT on because I'm sick. I hate being sick :(

    2. What is the longest book you've ever read? Hmmm, I'm a bit nerdy and read a lot so it's kind of hard to say for sure, but maybe Atlas Shrugged? I remember that seeming pretty long...

    3. What makeup do you carry with you in your purse every day? Sarah Happ lip slip, YSL gloss pur #1, and concealer.

    4. Do you have a similar yearning for an expensive pair of shoes, purse, coat, etc? Yep, I want a new car. A WRX, to be specific. No, it's not a fancy luxury car b/c I find them boring and pretty common in my area. A WRX, on the other hand, well those things are really just FUN to drive!

    5. When was the last time you washed your makeup brushes? Probably a week and a half ago? I used to be so good, washed them every weekend religiously, but I've gotten lazy.

    1. Lip Of The Day? - Estee Lauder lipstick in Blackberry with M.A.C Amourous Dazzleglass on top. Its a rainy day, I needed something to brighten it up lol

    2. What is the longest book you ever read? - Gone with the Wind and I have re-read that book at least 14 times.

    3. What makeup do you carry with you in your purse every day? - Diorshine in Front-row Fig, Clinique gloss in Stellar Plum, Fresh Sugar Rose lipbalm, Burt's Bees lipbalm.


    4. Do you have a similar yearning for an expensive pair of shoes, purse, coat, etc? - Ahhh hell yah! You know very well I have thousands of yearnings for expenisve shite! lol

    5. When was the last time you washed your makeup brushes? - You know I haven't washed them since I got these makeup brush wipes from Sally's. I know, I know I should but just wipe them off, let em dry - so much quicker than washing them.

  6. 1. Dior's creme de gloss - beige elixir - I blame Janet Jackson's Bazaar cover for this purchase!

    2. I believe it was an Anne Rice novel. It was over 900 pages and pure torture - needless to say I stopped somewhere around page 361.

    3. I carry NARS lipsticks - Falbala/Flair, a NARS cream blush, my aforementioned Dior gloss, an array of fragrance tube samples, MAC feline eyeliner and UD Underground liner.

    4. I almost bought a pair of Louboutins that were at the Barney's winter sale last year just so I could sleep with them under my pillow - I sadly walked away from the register when I realized I still had rent to pay and diapers to buy. So yes, I still yearn for a pair of Louboutins and a Chanel chain strap purse.

    5. I usually clean my brushes every 2-3 days. It's been a week. I'm slacking and slightly disgusted with myself....

    2. probably the odyssey...had to read it for school. it was painful but i have heard the illiad is worse :P

    4. i would love a chanel quilted purse..but i have a feeling that will be on my lemming list for a very long time

  8. 1. Lip Of The Day? I'm currently testing Anatomicals Stop Cracking Up lip balm (I love British humor and love the names of these products!).

    2. What is the longest book you ever read? I was an English major in college so I read quite a few high-page-count lovelies. I have no idea which one was the longest but the Victorian novels always FELT excruciatingly long. (Sorry, Victorian Era lovers.)

    3. What makeup do you carry with you in your purse every day? Prestige Powder Foundation, various lip balms and lipsticks, and that's about it. I'm a minimalist these days.

    4. Do you have a similar yearning for an expensive pair of shoes, purse, coat, etc? Look at my blog. I'm cheap. So...no. :)

    5. When was the last time you washed your makeup brushes? I am so, so, so bad about that. Maybe 3 weeks ago? No wonder I'm broken out right now.

    1. Lip Of The Day? NYX Pumpkin Pie... new lippie in my collex. It's a great peachy nude, and inexpensive so I don't feel the guilt of reapplying throughout the day :o)

    2. What is the longest book you ever read? Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond. It was long, but being non-fiction it was 2x's longer in my mind due to all the processing required...

    3. What makeup do you carry with you in your purse every day? Aquafina chapstick, oil-absorbing sheets, and a lippie I chose that day.

    4. Do you have a similar yearning for an expensive pair of shoes, purse, coat, etc? Black lambskin Chanel purse. Of course, it's a classic thus an investment, will last for ages...
