I might offend some people when they read this post. But I really detest Wal-Mart. Well, let me clarify. The Wal-Mart near me is completely creepolicious. The dim lighting, the sketchy parking lot and the constant disorder of the store make me avoid going into it at all costs. That is until I hear that Hard Candy Cosmetics had taken up residence in my local Wal-Mart and Hard Candy just happens to have the most unique and coolest shade of nail polish a girl could want, It's called Mr. Wrong. I did what I had to do. I went to Wal-Mart.
OK. Deep breath.
The parking lot was completely sketchy. A few abandoned trailers dotted the sides of the lot. Some seriously creepy "kid toucher" vans were parked in random spaces and of course average cars that aren't creepy at all, but you always notice the creepy details so let's ignore things that don't support my hyperbole of how creepy Wal-Mart is.
Anyway.
After dodging some crazed soccer mom in her Dodge Mini Van driving across the parking lot, not down the lanes, ACROSS the lot, I found a spot relatively close to the store. I bypassed the kid selling chocolate bars for some sort of club...yeah right...and entered the store.
What? No Wal-Mart Greeter?! I thought some geriatric in sensible walking shoes and a blue smock was supposed to "welcome" me. Nope. Nothing but there cold steel of shopping carts greeted me. Meh. I didn't need a cart. I came for one thing and one thing only. NAIL POLISH!
As I snaked my way through the dimly lit store I looked above for a sign. NO. Not a sign from God. A Sign that said "Health and Beauty" I'm smart. I know better than to engage a retail slave the day after new years in any conversation before noon. I locate my sign and make a bee line to the cosmetics. Ah Ha! Hard Candy Cosmetics. Wow. the display is TRASHED. liners on the floor empty shelves, wrong items in the wrong location. It was a mess. I kneel down to check out the polishes. Let's face it. I'm closer to 40 than I am to 30 and the last thing I need is turquoise glitter gel for my face & body...but hey...you never know. ANYWAY! I kneel down and look for the coveted polish. There, among the opened used products, scattered among the discarded tubes of glitter and eye liner it sat. Like a gem glistening under the cold fluorescent lights of aisle 23B, there sat my Hard Candy Cosmetics nail polish in the shade "Mr. Wrong".
Success! I snatched up my $5.50 treasure and headed for the check out aisle. A nice lady checked me out and wished me a "happy new year", I returned the good wishes and made way for my car. Successfully avoiding the 175 year old woman in a blue Buick tank driving ACROSS the parking lot, (what the hell is wrong with people? why can't they drive down the lanes not across the spots?!?) Made the light and was safely on my way home. The theme from The A Team rang in my head as another successful shopping mission was accomplished.
The polish? Well what's to say? It's awesomeness incarnate. Gold and silver glitter mixed into a blueish purple base that slightly shows once you have two coats. The polish is like a foil of metallic on your nails. It is one of the most unique colors I own and I love it dearly. It's a smooth glitter and a nice coat of Seche Vite top coat makes your nails as smooth as glass and a shimmery and bright as ...as....as a Wal-Mart sign? No. A star in the sky ABOVE the Wal-Mart sign....Yeah. That's the ticket!
P.S. The signature plastic ring on all Hard Candy Cosmetics nail polishes is also on this one. A cure dark blue/purple heart. It's as useful as a chocolate teapot......mmmm chocolate.

P.P.S. The polishe has lasted for 4 days with minimal chipping and almost no tip wear (My right index finger which I use the most) That's pretty awesome in my book. The Product photo looks darker than it is. Just FYI.
