Thursday Poll


for about $500 USD you can sleep in a room made out of ice and snow on a bed of ice and snow covered with reindeer hides and a thermal sleeping blanket. The entire hotel (including your room) is kept at a temperature between 17 and 23 degrees Fahrenheit (-8 to -5 Celsius). What? You don't want that? Well thousands of people for the past 20 seasons have done this and it's apparently supposed to be AWESOME! It's called The Ice Hotel and it is located 125 miles (200km) NORTH of the Arctic Circle in Lapland, Sweden. Yes THAT Lapland. Where Santa is from. Why am I talking about ice and snow and staying near the arctic circle in the middle of February? Because the 10 foot high snow mountains that are on every corner and the 4 foot high snow walls that line all the roads remind me that I probably won't see any of this snow melt until MAY! I don't think I'm gonna see my sidewalk until late April at this rate. However if I did have $500 to spend I might consider staying at the Ice Hotel...then again.. Maybe not. Maybe I will spend it on makeup. Yeah. That's what I will most likely do. Makeup and a Birthday Card for my friend PAM! Happy Birthday Pam! You don't look a day over 30..and I mean that! On To The Poll!

1. Lip Of The Day? - Guerlain Rouge G Lipstick in Gracia # 66. I just love this color and the formula is perfect!

2. What exotic location would you like to spend one night? - Well Aside from the Ice Hotel? Because let's face it. More than one night of 17 degrees it enough. I think it would be cool to stay at the Poseidon Undersea Resort in Fiji. OMG staying in a pod under the ocean with 360 degree views of the sea? It sounds awesome! Don't ask how much is costs. You don't want to know.

3. What item have you recently seen (on a blog or in a store) that has you transfixed, lemming, etc.? Believe it or not. The Yves St. Laurent Rouge Volupté lipsticks. I walked by a display at Nordstrom the other day and found myself drooling over them. They have some really pretty nude ones...but at $34 each I think I'll wait until I can find one on ebay.

4. What is the most unique or best hotel you have ever stayed? - On our Honeymoon Mr. Sith and I toured the California Coast. We stayed at The Madonna Inn...which has a great history and an awesome steakhouse! We stayed in the Rock Bottom room which is underground-ish, has rock walls and floors and a waterfall shower. Tres tacky and cool all at the same time!

5. What has come in the mail or what are you waiting for? - Oh boy. I'm on my purple nail polish kick again. So I got some Nubar polishes. I also picked up the 2 new MAC Viva Glam shades. I'll do a post soon. I promise!

    2. I want to stay in one of the pod hotel rooms in Japan! It looks so snug and cozy (but it better have decent TV channels).
    3. I'm dying for Paul & Joe right now. I want the new cream blush in Kitten 02 so much. But no money for makeup at the moment!
    4. I've gotten some great swaps, and I'm really happy that I finally got the CARGO Coco palette in a swap- it is SO nice. I am also loving the new Viva Glams.

  2. Please don't be lemming the Rouge Volupte! I think they're horribly greasy, and just sit on the surface of your lips. Seriously not worth the cash, I was horribly disappointed, as I'd read SO MANY glowing reviews ...

  3. Lip of the day? MAC's "O". I forgot how much I love this color. Our dear Joeybunny was kind enough to get it for me w/ some back to MAC empties I sent her. (I also sent her some so she could get something for herself.)


    Exotic Location? Well, since I have never left the U.S.A. continent, I will say somewhere in Italy. Preferably the Isle of Capri (that is Italy, isn't it?) or maybe Greece. Somewhere WARM. NO SNOW! NO ICE! The Amalfi Coast maybe???

    Something I am Lemming from a Blog? Strangely enough, no blogs have inspired me lately, although yours and Beauty Look Book and KarlaSugar's all do a good job usually.

    Most Unique or Best Hotel? Hmmmmm, the one on St. Pete's Beach in Florida, not unique in anyway, just right on the beach, you walk out of the hotel, there's the beach. And I had two really great business trips there and went to Crabby Bill's restaurant and got drunk in a Tiki Shack bar on the beach. Can you tell I really like going to the beach???

    What had come in the mail or what are you waiting for? Well the MAC ColourForecast Eyeshadow Quad 4, the MAC "O" lipstick, MAC Color Me Coral Lipstick (FAIL, 60's frosty peach). MAC Painterly PaintPot, and Laura Geller Bronze Eye Rimz. Waiting on: Laura Geller Tropics Lipstick and Gloss, and a JetPens order (love me some Japanese pens and papers), and my Clinique Gratis order.

  4. Duuuuude the Poseidon Hotel is the coolest thing I'VE EVER SEEN.

    And not gonna lie, if I had the money to get myself all the way to the Arctic Circle, I would certainly plonk down $500 to stay in the Ice Hotel :)

  5. I hate the cold and snow (which is why we're trying to buy a house in Buffalo) so the Ice Hotel doesn't appeal to me. sigh.

    Not really exotic but our friends' son's house in the Austrian Alps. That undersea pod sounds great though. Maybe we can double date.

    I saw the ELF lip primer which reminds me of Duwop's Reverse liner (my HG) but as an automatic crayon. I ordered it (actually I ordered two so I hope I like it. BOGO1/2 so the two were $4.50). Can't wait to try.

    4. What is the most unique or best hotel you have ever stayed?

    1975. Our family spent 6 weeks in France and we visited the Loire Valley and stayed at Domain de Bouvoir (I think that was the name), which was a hotel converted from a chateau. We had multi-course, formal dinners and it was great staying at a palace like a princess.

    5. What has come in the mail or what are you waiting for?

    Postcards from my collection came recently, I'm waiting for two more postcards and my ELF order.

  6. I don't think I'd like to stay there! I hate being cold as it is.
    Though I have been to the Ice Bar in London - you get a glass made out of ice and get to wear a hooded cape! Lol.

    3. What item have you recently seen (on a blog or in a store) that has you transfixed, lemming, etc.? Hm right now it'd probably be Benefit Buckle Bunny eyeshadow. I touched it at a Sephora yesterday and couldn't believe I didn't already have it. And FYI, the Rouge Voluptes SUCK.

    4. What is the most unique or best hotel you have ever stayed? - I can't think about this right now. I haven't stayed at a hotel since I was 14. I don't really remember.

    1. Lip of the Day - Lipstick Queen - Saint Berry

    2. Exotic location I'd like to spend a night? A romantic bungalow on the water of Bora Bora - I'm sure a 3-day stay would cost at least one pay check!

    3. Something causing a lemming...I'd have to say the MAC Ombre Blushes from the Spring Focus...and I really think it's only because it's sold out everywhere. Otherwise, I am highly anticipating the release of the new Coco lipsticks - this would be my first Chanel lipstick - YES, you read that correctly!

    4. Best Hotel? Hands down 5-star stay at Hotel 1898 in Barcelona, Spain and that's only because I won a grand prize trip for anywhere in the world from work. If we didn't take my daughter with us, Mr. Lex and I would have taken a late honeymoon in either Tokyo or Bora Bora in the aforementioned bungalow on the water.

    5. Waiting for in the mail? My engagement ring sadly...I had a few diamonds come off of the setting. Mr. Lex had his aunt in Jersey get it for him so everytime something goes wrong with my ring I have to send it back to her. I am eagerly waiting for my bling to come back to me hahahaha

    1. Lip of the day: Stila Brown Sugar lip gloss.

    2. Exotic location: I'll head for my best friend's house on the island of Corfu in Greece. Olive trees and grape arbors on the property, in a very small town where everyone gathers in the town square most evenings. It’s about a 5 minute walk from the beach...I relax just thinking about it.

    3. I’m trying to be a good girl and not buy anything new until something else goes into the garbage.

    4. I LOVE the Madonna Inn – it reminds me of family road trips from Seattle to California, Disneyland-bound, when I was a kid :) My adulthood favorite though is The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. There are no motorized vehicles on the island so here's this incredibly huge, beautiful old hotel with horse-drawn carriages pulling up out front, a porch that’s almost 700 feet long and incredible views. I would love to go back again, though next time I’d much rather fly into a major city nearby that’s NOT Detroit…

    5. Right now I’m anxiously waiting for a new iPhone case to arrive, tiffany blue leather with a cover that flips over so it won’t get scratched in my purse. The only ones they sell up here are black and brown, and everyone has one, so very soon I can be happy that my boss’ girlfriend won’t accidentally pick up mine anymore…

Exotic location: well considering I havent been anywhere outside of the US and ensenada, mexico(not cool), i have quite a list: amalfi coast with fattbottmgrl(and i can kind of speak italian :P). greek islands, the atlantis resort(i could have gone last summer with my best friends family but it didnt work out :()
    3. blog inspired lemmings: cafemakeup made me want pretty much all the jcs.
    4. most unique place ive stayed: We have a time share at this pretty cool hotel in sedona, arizona. They have a christmas decorating contest in december that is really cool to see.
    5. from the mail: I'm waiting on a strawberrynet order that has some stuff from guerlain summer 09 and a swap package with an armani cream blush

    1. LOTD? Just Nuxe Reve de Miel right now, my lips are soooooooo chapped. But I'm planning a Nordies trip and will be checking out Gaga and Cyndi.

    2. What exotic location would you like to spend one night? I'd love to go to Tibet and hike in the Himalayas. Close 2nd would be New Zealand. I want to meet Aragorn. Shut up he is so real.

    3. What item have you recently seen that has you transfixed, lemming, etc.? I saw a video on a beauty blog w/ a Mac artist creating a look for fashion week. He used a lipstick on the eyes to create this moist dewy but still super natural look that I have wanted forever. So, now I'm lemming dewy e/s and neutral glossy lippies and have been shopping my stash for stuff like becca bird of paradise and chanel liquid e/s. Also, inexplicably, I'm lemming orange blushes.

    4. What is the most unique or best hotel you have ever stayed in? The best would have to be the Rose Suite at the plaza hotel. Not really my style, but I could still appreciate how amazingly beautiful and ott it was.

    5. What has come in the mail or what are you waiting for? I just got two D&G blushes, Nude and Peach, haven't tried them yet but they're both lovely especially Nude. I'm waiting for Mac Dollymix blush and Quarry and Ricepaper e/s (all new for me, yay!), Too Faced Natural Eye Palette, and Nars AAE. I'm can't decide if I'm optimistic or pessimistic about AAE, I've ignored it for so long b/c it just looks so boring but.... I'm really REALLY on the hunt for the perfect neutral glowy wash and NO STONE SHALL GO UNTURNED! Lol :)

  12. Not sure where you're from, but I'm in Jersey.. All it's been doing here is snowing. I'm pretty sure we could build our own Ice Hotel at this point.

    None yet, I basically rolled out of bed, watched some 'Wife Swap' (I'm a sucker for reality tv), and ordered some sushi.

    2. What exotic location would you like to spend one night? -
    I'd love to go to Dubai. I'm not sure if that counts as 'exotic', but it seems like there's so much crazy architecture, I'd love to go just to take some pictures. :)

    3. What item have you recently seen (on a blog or in a store) that has you transfixed, lemming, etc.?
    Unfortunately, I'm still lemming 'California Dreamin' lipstick even after reading all the reviews. I think it's just because I love the song. I also wanna try out the Sigma brushes, and some products from Fyrinnae.

    4. What is the most unique or best hotel you have ever stayed? -
    I don't travel much.. I think the last time I even took a vacation was when I was five years old. Hopefully changing that this summer.

    5. What has come in the mail or what are you waiting for? -
    Oh man, I've been waiting for a rather large order I placed with allcosmeticswholesale, to try them out. It's only been a few days, but it feels like ages. :(
    I'm also waiting for some sushi, because I'm starving. haha.

    ps. - I really really reallllllyy wanna know about the new Viva La Glam lipsticks - Gaga's was sold out when I tried to order - Please post those soon! :)

    3. This Clinique Instant Lift for Brows that I saw Pixiwoo do a review on. I have majorly effed up brows and I still haven't found a HG product for them.

    4. Probably the Hotel Intercontinental in Paris when I was 8 - what was so cool about it is that my dad's job sent him to Paris for 6 months, and my parents pulled me out of school to go live with them in Paris during that time. My mom homeschooled me from the hotel room.

    4. What is the most unique or best hotel you have ever stayed? - I haven't stayed in that many hotels yet, but the Sir Francis Drake in San Francisco has the most comfortable bed I've ever stayed in.
