Thursday Poll

The other day I went to get an MRI done of my brain. The Doctor I went to see about my, for lack of a better term, sun sickness/migraine headaches, suggested I get one along with some other tests. Now I don't have any results, but what I do have is a CD with all the MRI images on it. How cool is that. Aside from MRI's being really frickin cool, now I'm sent home with a hundred images of my brain! I picked the profile to show you as I find it most flattering. Now I know some nutter is going to leave a comment saying they see a tumor or some sort of other malformation, but I thought I would post the pic anyway just to prove that I actually DO have a brain AND it fills up most of my skull! This leads me to wonder about other medical services that we will see advances in for the future. Remember on Star Trek when Bones would wave this wand over the patient and be able to diagnose them using a hand held computer. I hear we aren't too far off from that. I mean we already have portable sonograms now, and we are using lasers more and more in surgery. How much longer to get to the advances of medicine shown in Star Trek or whatever Sci-fi show du jour is out there. The possibility of living 100 or more years seems even more possible now. That's exciting...but also daunting. How long will I have to work to support myself to the age of 100 or more? Will my pension fund run out of money if everyone lives to be 100+ years old? What about overpopulation? Will there be any room for people that can live that long at our current rate of population growth? Oh goodness I'm getting a headache just thinking about it.
On To The Poll!

1. Blush Of The Day? - Chanel Joues Contraste in Turbulent. Wowza Hot Pink that, applied lightly, gives and awesome flush, Sadly it is discontinued. My love of Chanel JC Blushes knows no bounds..even discontinued ones.

2. Have you ever had an MRI done? (Not that I want you to reveal personal medical information...but a simple yes, no or maaaaybe will suffice.) - This is my 3rd MRI. I had one done a long time ago for my Jaw...I had TMJ, this recent one was sooo loud. I don't remember them being so loud. Perhaps medical science can figure out a way to make it sound less like a jackhammer.

3. Best advance in the "Science" of cosmetics since you started wearing cosmetics? - Now granted you spring chickens my not be able to think of an example but it would be neat to hear your perspective over the last few years. Personally I think the advancements in Foundation are super. I remember how awful the foundation was in the 80's compared to now. It's night and day.

4. If you could live forever (Without having to sell your soul or suck the blood out of unsuspecting victims) would you? - I know this sounds really cheezy, but I would only want to live forever...or at least 500+ years if Mr. Sith was with me. Granted I wouldn't want to age any more than I already have. I mean come on. Can you imagine how much retinol one would have to use to erase 500 year old wrinkles?

5. What one beauty product do you wish they would perfect though advances in science/chemistry/whatever? - Oh Pore size. I want someone to make a product that will actually and truly shrink my pores without causing breakout and will give me that porcelain doll skin...yeah right...I'll believe it when I see it.

  2. 1. Nada- I am home sick with tonsillitis and a sinus infection. I'm going to wash my face and call it good.
    2. Nope.
    3. Foundations are way better, lipsticks don't dry my lips to pieces, and I think brushes are better too- we actually have decent ones available!
    4. Not at all. I don't even want to get old. I'll stick around through my mid-60's, if that, and then I'm going to go be eaten by bears.
    5. Something to CLEAR OUT my pores for real. I don't have blackheads...just clogged pores around my nose and chin. And nothing will keep them cleared out. Drives me nuts!

  3. 1. Blush Of The Day?

None since I'm at home today, but it's usually just a peachy one from my 28 blush palette.

    2. Have you ever had an MRI done? (Not that I want you to reveal personal medical information...but a simple yes, no or maaaaybe will suffice.)

Nope, but I've had a million other blood and heart tests.

    3. Best advance in the "Science" of cosmetics since you started wearing cosmetics?

I love that cosmetics companies are managing to make darker foundations without just making them orange. I remember a Maybelline one I had when I was 14 was ORANGE CITY.

    4. If you could live forever (Without having to sell your soul or suck the blood out of unsuspecting victims) would you? -

Hellz yeah! I'm sure I would be all emo and be like MY LIFE IS WORTH NOTHING WAHHHHHH after a while, but it would be so cool! As long as the world didn't end or something, it would suck being literally the only person left on the planet and having to live forever.

    5. What one beauty product do you wish they would perfect though advances in science/chemistry/whatever?

An acne treatment that completely gets rid of pimples overnight, or even in a few hours. Or a foundation or concealer that absolutely WILL NOT sweat off - extremely important in Australia.

  4. If I were you I'd be worried that my brain seems to be green!!!

1 Don't wear blush - too ruddy about the cheeks as it is...
2 No MRI for me. Never say never though.
3 Nail polish. Formulae are longer-lasting and colour choice now is vast.
4 Live forever? No. I just think that psychologically as well as physically you reach a natural end. Better physical health wouldn't prevent a spiritual readiness for an ending.
5 Something to reduce acne rosacea and/or banish T-zone so foundation would bl00dy well not slide off my face!

    Good health to you.

  5. 1. Blush Of The Day? - I have not gotten that far yet. I barely put on my foundation -which, by the way, i have the pleasure to have ordered my final bottle of my hg foundation from prescriptives before they go out of business. =( using it makes me remember why i love it so much. It is just a touch too DARK now, and its the lightest the thing comes. I must have lost at least half a shade or a shade in color!!

    2. Have you ever had an MRI done? No ma'am, but I would like one done soon, because i have been having some insane headaches and it worries me.
PS - Your brain is AWESOME!!! =) it looks so naughty... its like a naked picture of you! Sort of. Does that make sense? I can't really figure out what I am trying to say but I know what I want to say. Ughhhh @ my early morning brain syndrome. haha

    3. Best advance in the "Science" of cosmetics since you started wearing cosmetics? - I don't really know!

    4. If you could live forever (Without having to sell your soul or suck the blood out of unsuspecting victims) would you? - I am not sure about this one. Forever is a very long time!!

    5. What one beauty product do you wish they would perfect though advances in science/chemistry/whatever? - A foundation that you put on.. and it really 'reads' the color your skin is supposed to be before sun damage and aging and redness and discoloration..and it blends itself into your jawline and hairline and everything. A true "second skin" foundation. Us hard-to-match folks would lOOOOVEEE this right? I know that would probably take alot of science mess to figure that out but a girl can dream right?

  6. 1. Blush Of The Day? - Bobbi Brown Blushed Rose Pot Rouge w/ MAC X Rocks on top.

    2. Have you ever had an MRI done? no but I've had 2 colonoscopies (overshare?)

    3. Best advance in the "Science" of cosmetics since you started wearing cosmetics? silicone...my skin loves it, my pores thank it and it's in my foundation (GA Face Fabric) and primer (MAC P&P SPF).

    4. If you could live forever (Without having to sell your soul or suck the blood out of unsuspecting victims) would you? - As long as I could continue to procreate, yes...I want babies. LOL.

    5. What one beauty product do you wish they would perfect though advances in science/chemistry/whatever? - Oh Pore size. I want an undereye concealer that makes me look awake and does something about bags. They all crease, they all fade. I've tried them all.

  7. I love it! Nice brain :-p

    1. My blush of the day is MAC Full Fuchsia. I seem to be reaching for it a lot lately.

    2. I have never had an MRI done, but my 8 mth old son has :( He might need a shunt placed.

    3. I guess mineral makeup, although I still wouldn't know totally for sure.

    4. No. Even if I had my husband and son, everyone else I know would be gone. No one wants to make new friends at the ripe old age of 283 yrs old.

    5. I want them to give me something that would make my skin perfect and even.

  8. 1. Blush Of The Day?
Too Faced Blush Duo in Lust to Love

    2. Have you ever had an MRI done?
Yes, I was having black outs, so I had an MRI done to rule out neurological problems. Turns out I have a lower than average seizure threshold. Thankfully since I tweaked my lifestyle, I haven't had a black out.

    3. Best advance in the "Science" of cosmetics since you started wearing cosmetics?
Probably moisturizer with SPF that doesn't stink.

    4. If you could live forever (Without having to sell your soul or suck the blood out of unsuspecting victims) would you?
Yes, but only if a few of my loved ones could as well.

    5. What one beauty product do you wish they would perfect though advances in science/chemistry/whatever?
    Anti-wrinkle cream.

  9. 1. Blush Of The Day?

WetnWild Mellow Wine in the new compact. Not bad. I also got Berry Shimmer which is so bright and pigmented I might swipe it on my ass and go as a baboon for Halloween.

    2. Have you ever had an MRI done?
Yes. I had my gut scanned in a closed MRI as far as I remember. It seemed to take forever and I had a terrible itch on the end of my nose. Good thing I'm able to touch my nose with my tongue.

    3. Best advance in the "Science" of cosmetics since you started wearing cosmetics?

    Foundation and powder definitely.

    4. If you could live forever (Without having to sell your soul or suck the blood out of unsuspecting victims) would you? -

Nope. Don't even want to live to 80 if I'm incapacitated.

    5. What one beauty product do you wish they would perfect though advances in science/chemistry/whatever?

    Skincare for pores and wrinkles.

  10. 1. Blush Of The Day? - Bobbi Brown Cabo Coral

    2. Have you ever had an MRI done? No--sonograms, yes!

    3. Best advance in the "Science" of cosmetics since you started wearing cosmetics? -Sunscreens!!

    4. If you could live forever (Without having to sell your soul or suck the blood out of unsuspecting victims) would you? Oh Yeah!! I'd probably start all kinds of bad habits around the year 499, like drinking too much wine. But I'd love to be around forever!

    5. What one beauty product do you wish they would perfect though advances in science/chemistry/whatever? - Mascara! I wish it would look 1/2 as good in real life as it does in the ads

  11. Don't worry, your brain looks fine (especially the taupe zone), tumors are quite obvious when they're there :)

    1. Blush Of The Day? - Illamasqua Expose and Excite, I love these 2 combined. (not sure how that sounds)

    2. Have you ever had an MRI done? nope, and I hope I don't need one any time soon!

    3. Best advance in the "Science" of cosmetics since you started wearing cosmetics? lipgloss - I don't remember lipgloss being very accessible 20 years ago

    4. If you could live forever (Without having to sell your soul or suck the blood out of unsuspecting victims) would you? Maybe, if I could have my loved ones with me, but it doesn't matter that I can't, there are people I'll be happy to see again wherever you go after this place.

    5. What one beauty product do you wish they would perfect though advances in science/chemistry/whatever? I'd love to have photoshop in a tube, something that will make your skin look flawless in one quick application.

  12. LOLLLLLLLL. I hope you get your results soon and they figure out what's going on!

    1. Blush Of The Day? - None. I am sick at home with the seasonal flu, and secondary sinus & strep infections. ;_;

    2. Have you ever had an MRI done? - Nope.

    3. Best advance in the "Science" of cosmetics since you started wearing cosmetics? - In the last two years... not much...? I don't think I've been around long enough in the makeup world to see really stunning advances! Micronized physical sunscreens are probably what I'm most thankful for but I'm not sure that occurred in the last two years. (And there are really no health risks for wearing micronized physical sunscreens in a cream, but in aerosols they can act like abestos.)

    4. If you could live forever (Without having to sell your soul or suck the blood out of unsuspecting victims) would you? - ... no. Or, only if I could stay young forever. I already have so many minor health issues, soreness, pain, etc I cannot imagine how bad they'd get over forever!! LOL.

    5. What one beauty product do you wish they would perfect though advances in science/chemistry/whatever? - I have to agree with you on that one - pore shrinker. My pores have been enlargening out of control in the last 6-8 months and I have NO IDEA what to do about them. ;_;

  13. 1. No blush today. After work I'm going to Sephora to try on cream blush. (cream/gel blush virgin here!)

    2. Yep, had one done on my brain about 10 years ago cuz my doctor thought I had a tumor. He was wrong!!! ☺

    3. I would have to say long wearing cream shadows. Don't remember those as a "youngster". Better for my creasy eyes.

    4. No, I would be happy to die at 55. I don't want to get old. But then I believe in heaven and life after death...so that may affect my decision. ☺

    5. I have rosacea and I would love for someone to find a cure. Pls take away the redness!!!!!

Hope your MRI turns up normal. (well other than the makeup obsession...but then that IS normal)
