BECCA Sheer Tint Lip Colour in Tatiana

OK. I'm going to start with an apology. I received my BECCA Tatiana Sheer Tint Lip Colour on an extremely hot and sunny day. I am one of the last stops on my UPS man's route so I don't get my package until 7:00 in the evening...a package that was probably loaded on a truck at 3 in the morning. You get the idea. You see where I'm going with this. Yes. I had to post my shameful pictures of a sweaty lipstick. I guess I could have waited until the "sweat" evaporated..but I think you know and I know that there was no way in hell I was going to sit around for lipstick sweat to evaporate so I could THEN take pictures and THEN take swatches and THEN apply it? Hello? I have like ZERO patience and when it comes to new lipstick I have even less than zero patience. So I humbly apologize for the sweaty lipstick. I hope you can forgive me.

I have already written about BECCA Sheer Tint Lip Colour before HERE. This is a new color in my collection. Tatiana is a sheer raspberry, but honestly It's on the edge of neutral enough that if I wear a warm colored liner underneath, the raspberry turns into a strawberry and really warms up. However I have almost no pigment in my natural lip color so this could be the reason I can change the color of Tatiana on me so easily. Regardless it's lovely on and really brightens my face. I adore the color!

The packaging is a hefty metal tube. The cap screws on and off so you don't have to worry about it coming off in your purse or bag...which is nice. The formula is moisturizing and has excellent "slip" (meaning it glides on without tugging on my lips.) The color is well pigmented for a sheer lip tint. Seriously this is more pigmented than some lipsticks I own. When it fades or wears off, I don't get a different under color, and it fades evenly so I don't get that dreaded faded lip liner look. You know the one. The look that barflies in their late 50's get when they have had too many cosmopolitans and too many rejections form the single men in the bar. Yeah. that look. *shudder*

According to the BECCA website the Lip Tints are "Infused with a moisturizing formula containing Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Honey and other essential fatty acids with natural anti-oxidants to leave lips soft and moisturized" I can attest that I have never had a problem with my lips feeling dry or cracked when using this product...wish I could say the same for OTHER cosmetic companies *coughMACcough*. The lip tints are scented. If you don't like scented products you may want to skip this deliciously scented light vanilla/caramel lipstick. It is so yummy that it makes me want to eat the lipstick! That is not advised, however. Thankfully it doesn't taste like caramel, so I'm safe.

But back to my shame. I am soooo sorry I didn't wait until the lipstick had de-sweated. In my defense I waited an entire day, but you see It very humid where I live and well...I just couldn't wait any longer. I hope you won't take these sweaty product pictures as any indication that BECCA lipsticks are faulty or sub par quality. They are indeed not. I'm sure you have read enough of my BECCA reviews to know how much I love this brand and can now understand how much it pains me not to have a good picture for you to look at.

Oh I know. Let's pretend you are looking at one of those Maybelline Moisture Whip lipsticks from the 1980's advertised by Lynda Carter.

video and image from http://www.wonderland-site.com/

You remember the one where she uses so much sexual innuendo to sell a lipstick that she is holding in her hand .... under the water! She literally is in a pool and lifts her hand and she holding an open lipstick! It's too funny. Best yet is the closing product shot where all the moisture whip lipsticks have been spritzed with water so they look sweaty like my BECCA Sheer Tint Lip Colour . WIN!

Do you NEED this? Yes, if you love moisturizing lipsticks, you like sheer color that is buildable and long lasting AND you want to be cool like me. Otherwise you might pick up a Maybelline Moisture Whip lipstick and take a dip in the public pool and then apply it.

  4. OMG - thanks for that flashback. I still wish I was Linda Carter. Can you feature the lady from the Bain de Soleil ads next? Okay on to the lipstick. It's very pretty and I love these sheers for the summertime and added bonus Tatiana is my little sister's name. She'll be proud to know that she can have a namesake lipstick.
