Yay, once again I get to take over the Thursday Poll! I’m so excited, I really am. Later tonight (or in other words, at midnight Friday), I am going to see “Inception” in IMAX. Yes, Leo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in IMAX! It is going to be truly heavenly. I am going to have to make sure that my lip color can survive the copious amount of drool that will inevitably escape my mouth every time one of those hunks is on screen (I can only imagine that ménage à trois). Also, I eat my weight in popcorn whenever I go to the movies, so I always end up eating off my lipstick or lip gloss.
I love movie theater food. The entire concept of it is so wonderfully gluttonous. You sit on your ass for about two hours eating buttery, salty popcorn. You wash it down with a bucket of Cherry Coke, and then you go back for nachos and some yellow crap the employees claim is “cheese”. Oh, and you can’t forget the Sno-Caps and the Blue Cherry Slushie drink. What the effity-eff is Blue Cherry, anyway? Is it anything like Flavor Red? Or Purple Drank? I have no damn idea. Anyway, by time you’re done with the movie, you have gained twenty pounds. Oh, and you’re broke as hell because movies and movie theater food are SO damn expensive (here’s a breakdown for you: in NYC, a single IMAX movie ticket purchased on Fandango is $21, a large popcorn is $7.50, and a large soda is $5.50 - this comes out to $34! And that’s just for me! WTF!).
Anyway, on to the poll:
1) What's on your lips today?: Today feels like a lipgloss kind of a day. I've been smitten lately with Too Faced Glamour Gloss in Sex Pot. It's a gorgeous lilac-purple color that makes my lips a lovely cool-toned pink. Nice contrast to my tan!
2) Leo DiCaprio or Joseph Gordon-Levitt (and you MUST choose one)?: Oh man, as hard a choice as this is, I have to go with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He was just incredible in “Brick”, and I wanted to cuddle him in “(500) Days of Summer”. Besides, I just have a thing for brunettes. As hot as Leo is (and he is hot as hell, especially in “The Departed”), his blonde hair is not my thing at all.
3) What’s your favorite thing to eat/drink while at the movies?: Oh, I always get the same thing: large unsalted and unbuttered popcorn, with a large Cherry Coke, no ice. If I feel like eating something else, I’ll do Whoppers or Gummi Bears. I had an ex-boyfriend that always had to get a large popcorn, a large Cherry Coke, and at least three different kinds of candy every time he went to the movies. Considering he was a film major and we always went to the movies, you would have thought he was obese, right? Wrong. He was skinny and had abs, the bastard.
4) What was the last new makeup item you acquired?: The last new items I got were sent to me to review for another blog I write for : Too Faced Glamour Gloss in Sex Pot and Flirt, and the Too Faced Leopard Love Complexion Perfection Kit - expect a review of these products soon at Beauty Debutante!
5) How jealous are you that Elvira’s been in Las Vegas?: I’m insane with jealousy. I love Las Vegas. I’ve only been once, and that was 11 years ago, but still! Hello, buffets and strippers?! It’s like my own personal heaven. Also, the shopping in Vegas is great too.

ReplyDelete1) What's on your lips today?: Chante l/s in Rose Hip - I think I bought this with you, Joey - this is my favorite lipstick of all time. It's the PERFECT reddish coral and it always brightens up my face and makes me happy.
2) Leo DiCaprio or Joseph Gordon-Levitt (and you MUST choose one)?: Easy - JGL - so cute in Brick. I'm not a big Leo fan either so it was supereasy to choose, because Leo hasn't moved me since Romeo and Juliet.

4) What was the last new makeup item you acquired?: MAC Stereo Rose MSF, my new fave summer blush.
5) How jealous are you that Elvira’s been in Las Vegas?: It's hot as fire there right now and last time I was there I ended up with horrible food poisoning but I do love the Hoover Dam, so there you go.

The last time I was in Vegas was 3 yrs ago - before my daughter was born. Yes, I need to go back plus my husband said I could get a lap dance this time around!
ReplyDelete1. LOTD - Surprisingly, MAC - Soar lip liner and Viva Glam Cyndi. I was in a pink-coral mood.
2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt - I loved him in 3rd Rock from the Sun and I am just so amazed how handsome he gets with age. He's just as adorable in my one of my favorite 90's teen movies - 100 Things I Hate About You (also LOVED Heath Ledger in that too).
3. I always share a bag of artificially buttered popcorn with my husband along with a large Cherry or Regular Coke. If I'm going candy route - peanut M&M's or Whoppers. If we really want to be fancy we get bon-bons!
4. Last makeup acquisition - Chanel Vert Khaki shadow and Paradoxal nail polish. I love doing 5mn smoky eye looks with this shadow and I was going to wait till end of August to bust out this grey polish but screw that I am busting this out for my next manicure!
5. Yes, I am jealous - my husband and I are dying to go back to Vegas so he can play some poker and I can drool over the new pretty Louis Vuiton/Prada stores!

3) What’s your favorite thing to eat/drink while at the movies?: So... movie food actually kind of makes me sick. I was really happy to discover they now carry Welch's real fruit gummies last time though, so I guess those, even though they were like freaking $5 a bag.
4) What was the last new makeup item you acquired?: Makeup item? I just bought new blotting sheets and received a perfume (Harajuku Lovers plus the free alarm clock :D) in the mail but I guess those don't count as perfume. Would have to be the Korres set I bought in Greece then ... which was not that exciting except I do love the Wild Rose concealer.

3. I really love to have water (Boring) and Twizzlers. I love twizzlers. I could eat an entire bag to myself before the previews are over.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt all the way! honestly, he looks so much like Heath Ledger to me, and not just because they were in 10 Things I Hate About You together. he has those sleepy, sexy brown eyes and that careless smile. 500 Days of Summer was a great film.
