Fresh Sugar Passion Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 Review Pictures Swatches

image from Sephora.com

You knew it was bound to happen.  Once you open the floodgates it's hard to resist.  Just like potato chips and tattoos, you can't have just one.  Well I couldn't have just one Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. I had to have a second.  While I thought my second would be the Rose version I happened upon the brand new Passion version when I was in Neiman Marcus last week.  Sadly tho, Neimans didn't have any for sale, jut pre-order...and once I swatched the tester I knew I had to have it.  I did a quick on line search and found Sephora.com had it as an on-line exclusive and I know how fast they ship so I placed my order immediately.  In about 3 business days I had the brand new Fresh Sugar Passion Tinted Lip Treatment in my hot little hands!  Sorry Neimans, but Sephora beat you to the punch.

Anyway! I was THRILLED to have the same wonderful lip treatment formula available to me in a nice pretty crimson red version.  Those that didn't read the review I did on the Fresh Sugar Honey Lip Treatment should know that the lip treatment has a decent SPF 15 rating and includes ingredients like: sugar, a natural humectant, this lip treatment ensures long-lasting moisture.  It also has meadowfoam, black currant seed oil, jojoba seed oil, and antioxidant rich grape seed oil, so your lips are conditioned as well.  But wait! There's more!

A light, yet buildable tint of a sheer red (which shows up cool on me, but warm on my friend. Thanks to what Fresh describes as a "a well-balanced, warm-cool pigment" the Fresh Sugar Passion Lip Treatment compliments the natural shade of your lip, no matter what your skintone.  The color stayed true on my lips. Didn't turn overly pink (as some sheer reds are wont to do) and best of all it lasted!

Many sheer lipsticks fade quickly because it's just the way sheep lipsticks work.  However, the Fresh Sugar Passion Lip Treatment lasted longer on my lips because it is thicker than regular sheer lipsticks. After all, it is a lip treatment.  It has a slightly waxy feel but not heavy.  It glides on the lips easily and imparts a natural satin finish. I don't look like I just ate all the fried Oreos at the county fair after applying this lip treatment (trust me. Fried Oreos are so gross). However, my lips don't look a like a waxy matte mess either (I'm looking at you Original Formula Chapstick!)  There is a light lemon scent, which is nice, but a passion fruit or sugar scent would be better (hint hint). It has a flavor that is ever so slightly a sweet/saccharine lemon but I don't usually lick my lips so I didn't really notice it. Best of all, my lips always felt perfectly conditioned, never dry or irritated!

Do you NEED this?  YES!  Yes if you are afraid of red lips. Because this is an excellent way to start wearing red lips. It's not streaky like some red lipsticks or glosses so you know the application will be a cinch.  Then you can start working your way up to a lip stain with this over top!  Next thing you know you'll be sporting the boldest red lip this side of the Mississippi!  YES! If you are just looking for a lip product that has SPF, conditions your lips, and imparts a very natural red hue, then you have found your ideal product here.  YES! If you have no problems spending $30+ on a sheer lipstick that fades before you finish your tea (coughDiorcough) then spending $22.50 won't hurt at all.

  6. I just scored the Fresh Sugar Rose lip treatment. It's the birthday freebie from Sephora. It's a mini 2 pack with the plain/clear & the Rose. Really, really like it! And it has the lemony smell, too.
