MyFace Cosmetics Blingtone Eyeshadow in Sp"ice"y - Review, Pictures, Swatches

image from myfacecosmetics.com

I know many of you were cursing my name when I introduced an eyeshadow from Japan that cost a huge amount of money but looked so sparkly and awesome you thought you might die if You didn't get it.
Well I'm happy to say that:
a) Your jealousy tastes delicious
and
b) I might have found a dupe for you...and it is domestic! (Well...US/UK/EU)

So now what do you have to say for yourselves.  Are you going to apologize for cursing my name and equating me to large aquatic mammals often called sea cows?  Yeah. I thought so.  YOU BETTER *gives room evil glare*.

Today, but delicate fawns, I bring you myface Cosmetics Blingtone eyeshadow in Sp"ice"y!

Sp"ice"y Blingtone eyeshadow

It's soooo glittery. it's like a disco ball.

Being that I am 1/8th magpie and I have the mental capacity of a two year old, I am attracted to all things shiny!  That's why when I received the myface Cosmetics Blingtone eyeshadow in Sp"ice"y in my first Beauty Army sample box I was thrilled.  Not only was it shiny and ...well...bling-y, it was also in the taupe family of colors.  You all know how insane I am about taupe.

OK.  How is the eyeshadow?
It has a semi hard powder texture. It's not hard as a rock, but it's not creamy soft either.  The shadow does attach itself to your brush easily....however if you really want a super blinged out look try applying with a foam applicator.
The shadow adheres well to the lid as long as you are wearing a primer.  No special eye primer is needed, just your regular Urban Decay, Too Faced, Lorac, NARS, etc. will do.
The shadow wears very well with no creasing or fading, as long as you have that primer.
It's well pigmented, however I wish it was a tad darker. (That's just me being picky)
All in all a decent glittery almost wet look shadow.

Here is the comparison between Kose Addiction Eyeshadow in Nostalgia and myface Cosmetics  Blingtone Eyeshadow in Sp"ice"y.

Pretty close right?  I mean close enough for government work.  The myface Cosmetics shadow's color may be a tad warmer than the Kose Addiction shadow, but it sure beats ¥3200 JPY per shadow that the Kose Addiction Shadow costs.  You see Kose Addiction shadow is so expensive I can't even put it in US dollars for fear that I'll have a heart attack when I find out how much I actually paid!  The myface Cosmetics shadow isn't inexpensive either....it's $20.

Do you NEED this?  Well. MAYBE. It's a pretty high price for a single eyeshadow, but it is unique in it's formula.  That "wet look" shadow is pretty cool looking.  If you already have Kose Addiction in Nostalgia, you don't need this.  If you were lusting after the Kose Addiction in Nostalgia but couldn't bring yourself to spend the money (totally understandable) then you might want to pick this little gem up.

What say you.  Close enough dupe?  Do you like that glittery / wet look?

  2. I think it's a great dupe. I actually like the Blingtone-Spicey better >_<. I'm suprised it's not creamy. It gives the illusion that it's wet. I love it, regardless.
