Dermelect Cosmeceuticals Anti-Aging Nail Lacquers

As we transition from Winter to Spring (Or Fall to Winter for those in the Southern Hemisphere) our beauty needs change.  Sometimes the most neglected part of our bodies happens to be our nails.  We put some polish on them and hope for the best. But did you know that there are three little gems from Dermelect Cosmeceuticals that will keep your nails looking healthy all the time?

The three Dermelect Cosmeceuticals Anti-Aging Nail Lacquers are DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde-free and they utilize ProSina Protein Peptide to strengthen nails, increase moisture and assist in growth.  They offer two base coats: Makeover, its light pink hue helps to cover ridges in nails, and Launchpad, which treats nails with protein to aid in nail health. They also have a topcoat called High Maintenance which is supposed to strengthen nails up to 50% more with one coat.

Dermelect Makeover Ridge Filler -Anti-Aging Base Coat
This is a concealer and nail treatment in one.  According to Dermelect, ridges are to nails as wrinkles are to your face. (unattractive and a revealing sign of aging.)  Healthy nails are smooth, flexible and pinkish in color. Dermelect Makeover Ridge Filler achieves beautifully natural nails by multitasking to conceal nail imperfections with a natural pink hue while treating them with protein, vitamins and much needed moisture.   The anti-aging treatment utilizes ProSina, a delivery system of protein peptides to strengthen weak nails and make them resistant to splits and breaks.  In addition, Pentavitin, a crucial moisture binding agent. It acts like a water magnet for your dry, brittle nails and restores the moisture balance resulting in increased flexibility.   Retails for $18 USD for a 0.4 fl. oz. bottle. Available at C.O. Bigelow  in NYC and at www.dermelect.com.

Dermelect Launchpad Nail Strengthener -Anti-Aging Base Coat
The blue base coat will grow your own natural nails longer, stronger, and healthier. I have personally used the Dermelect Launchpad Nail Strengthener and I have to say it was the best thing that happened to my nails since FOREVER! This anti-aging nail treatment uses protein-peptide technology to hydrate and strengthen nails. Similar to multi-peptide technology for the treatment of aging skin, the breakthrough ingredient ProSina provides a unique delivery system of protein peptides directly to the nail bed to encourage stubborn nails to grow while improving their strength. The multi-peptide, derived from New Zealand wool, delivers keratin protein to the nails which increases the integrity and cohesion to the nail plate resulting in natural flexibility and increased moisture. Furthermore its antioxidant behavior allows it to actively remove harmful free radicals most commonly associated with nail damage.  The fast-drying formula provides a soft shine for natural nails and a protecting base coat under polish. I get a little panicked when I start to run out of this little wonder. I always make sure I have a back up on hand.  (Pardon the pun)  Retails for $18 USD for a 0.4 fl. oz. bottle. Available at C.O. Bigelow  in NYC and at www.dermelect.com.

Dermelect High Maintenance Instant Nail Thickener - Anti-Aging Top Coat
Dermelect claims that this high on shine and long on durability, High Maintenance Instant Nail Thickener utilizes protein-peptide technology to instantly thicken your nails up to 50% with a single coat.  You can add layers of protection to natural nails or top your polish with a long-lasting high shine and protective reinforcement. With the strengthening property of the protein peptide ProSina, you will directly apply a form of keratin similar to that which is found naturally in our nails resulting in nails that are more resistant to splitting, breaking and chipping.  This fast drying and glossy top coat/thickening treatment contains a UV absorber to protect your polish from yellowing while preventing both light and dark colors from quickly fading. Retails for $16 USD for a 0.4 fl. oz. bottle. Available at C.O. Bigelow  in NYC and at www.dermelect.com.

All Dermelect Cosmeceuticals Anti-Aging Nail Lacquers are DBP, Toluene, and Formaldehyde free!  Ordering from the website?  You get free shipping with orders over $50 and you always get free samples with every order.

Have you ever used any of these products?  I must say that Launch Pad is my personal, secret weapon for long strong nails.

  1. Ok, I'm really really willing to believe crap in the holy name of beauty. But this?
There are 2 things we beauty addicts need to accept are made actually DEAD: nails and hair. Our skin is an organ, it breathes, it suffers, it renews itself. But nails and hair: DEAD STUFF. If they're damaged, cut out and wait for them to regrow. End of the story, as far as I am concerned.

    1. But having had nails that split and crack all the time I must say that even cutting them off and waiting for them to re-grow does nothing. Having used Launch Pad in the past I can tell you that 100% of the flaking & Splitting I had went away when I used this product. It won't repair active splits but will make the growing nail healthier so that the split eventually grows out and does not return.

    3. I didn't have such a great experience with it. I used it faithfully, until the bottles ran out,and the cream too,my nails still peeled, and that was $60 out of my pocket.I've moved on though.I now have much healthier nails thanks to Ask Cosmetics T.I.P.S. nail and cuticle conditioner. ITA,nails and hair are dead. However, the condition of the cuticles is in direct proportion to the condition of one's actual nails.

  2. I'll chime in here to add that I too have had excellent experience with this system. I use the cuticle cream too. It works. I bought some for my niece who's nails are strong like mine but she got acrylics for some dumb reason and her nails are recovering fast with the daily use of this stuff. It works.

  3. Although nails (and hair) are dead and technically can't repair themselves, my opinion is that products like these protect and prevent rather than actually repair. For example, my nails have horrible ridges down the length. I don't like to buff them out because it weakens my nail. Some of the more pronounced ridges make the tip of my nail vulnerable to splitting and peeling, and so there is no cutting, filing, and waiting until it grows out - it's always there! I use a nourishing basecoat to make my nails more flexible and to protect the tips from falling apart. Also, I've been using a particular brand for a month now, and I swear that my nails look a little better; a bit more hydrated and maybe less peeling. I'm def going to try this one.
