Chanel Fall 2012 Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rose Initiale - Review, Swatches, Pictures

You know all those times I told you I found the "Perfect Pink Blush"?
*I was lying to you.
**I NOW have found the "Perfect Pink Blush" and it is Chanel, of course, it is from their Fall 2012 collection and it is called Rose Initiale!

Chanel's 2012 Fall collection is fast becoming one of my favorites.  How can I not like something that includes a Pink Rose colored blush?  To those that say, "Hey Elvira. I thought you already had a bunch of pink colored blushes. You really don't need more do you?"  I can respond to this inane question with a simple one word, three letter response,

DUH!

OF COURSE I don't need more pink blush.  But I NEED more pink blush.  You see. As a non blush addict, you will never fully appreciate the little nuances between each pink blush.  Some may be a warm pink, others a cool pink. Some are frosty, some shimmery and some may be matte.  Some may be the same pink color but one will be shimmery and the other matte. One might be slightly darker than another, but trust me, I NEED both.

As for THIS particular pink blush, Chanel Rose Initiale is a sweet rose pink. It is not dusty or grey. It is a happy pink that is not too bright and not too subtle. It's a total Goldilox pink. It's juuuuust right.

As with all Chanel JC powder blushes. the powder is finely milled, light as air and lasts a long time on your face.  I like to apply this to the apples of my cheeks for a fresh flushed look. It goes well with my pale skin, but because this particular pink is so rich, I think it would look good on a variety of skin tones.

Do you NEED this?  Does a blush addict need a new blush? Does a fish need a bicycle? Is Goldilox technically a vandal and committing a crime? If Papa bear had shot her when he arrived home to find she had stolen food, broken furniture and was passed out in their house, would he be protected under the Castle Doctrine?  YES to all of the above.  I purchased this blush from Neiman Marcus. You can order it though the web or you can call Kathy Shoreman and place an order over the phone at 571-533-4972.

**This may or may not be the "Perfect Pink Blush". I tend to use hyperbole when saying a blush is perfect.  There are many perfect blushes out there. I just think that the majority of them happen to be pink.

Mixed Tumulte and Malice on Right and Roe Initiale on left.  It looks like Rose Initiale is the offspring of the 2 other blushes (kinda)

  4. I wish I could get as excited as you about blushers. I love them, but my cheeks are pretty pink and I need to be very careful with what I apply otherwise people start asking whether I'm feeling hot. This looks so beautiful that I am envious! I might have to go and gie it a try when it's released in the UK.

    1. Oh my face is pretty red. I have been told countless times that I should not use pink blush. But I am hardheaded and I just don't care. Plus my foundation takes care of a lot of redness for me. Oh and since I have been using some of the Natura Bisse Tolerance line my face is less red. :-)

    1. I like them both, but I find Tumulte much cooler toned pink and fairly bright so it works better as a winter/spring blush for me. Rose Initiale is perfect for summer and fall.

  12. This is a perfect shade of pink blusher, IMO.
It looks suitable for such a range of skin tones!
I look for blusher like this because its most similar to my natural flush!

    What a beauty!
