I am delinquent in my duties. The end of August came & went and I had no Highlighter You Can't Have post for you. I was still recovering from my vacation to The Star Wars Convention So here I am DAYS letter with my Highlighter You Can't Have post. Because I am feeling benevolent I decided to feature one you can sort of have. OK. I didn't really decide. I recently found out that the highlighter I thought you couldn't have you now CAN have...Well if you're willing to drop $65 at Izzy's Beauty Shoppe. I didn't really realize this was still available when I chose it, but hey, I might as well just feature it. Right? Before I do that, let's review what I have tortured you with so far: I started the series with a Dior Highlighter that sat unused for years until I started this series, then tempted you with a Guerlain Highlighter that sold out literally weeks after premiering (REALLY Glad I have a back up), then I showed you an Estee Lauder Highlighter exclusive to Bergdorf Goodman which was candlelight in powder form. I repeated the Estee Lauder theme the following month with a highlighter as big as my hand! I took the price quotient down a notch when I showed you a Revlon Highlighter/Blush which was very sweet looking. I presented you with the oldest highlighter in my collection. The Chanel Lumiere Platine Platinum Face Powder from 2000. Last month I brought you an adorable highlighter from Laura Mercier and gave away my back up to one lucky winner. (Winner announced on the contest widget). But back to the highlighter at hand.

Dior Diorsnow Iridescent Powder Lumieres de Neige 001 was a limited edition Asian exclusive from 2009. This little gem was available at Duty Free Shops for the Western world. I happened upon mine from my favorite hard to find/discontinued resource, eBay. Or as I like to call it. EvilBay. You need to be careful when buying from eBay. There are tons of fakes out there. There are tons of real items as well but they can be unbelievably overpriced. Yup. your best friend is patience. You bide your time, you set your price and don't go over it. You do your research, compare images, and wait….then BID! So that's how I came across the Dior Diorsnow Iridescent Powder Lumieres de Neige 001. I waited, stalked, set my price, bid and finally won. YAY!
So enough about evilbay. Let's talk about Dior Diorsnow Iridescent Powder Lumieres de Neige 001!
Dior Diorsnow Iridescent Powder Lumieres de Neige 001 is an enchanting powder with iridescent pigments, to give the face a fresh, light halo. The powder is so soft and lightweight. It can be used all-over it give a luminous glow and banish dullness. The amazingly light texture of the powder highlights the skin and gives a rosy, radiant glow.

This stunning pink based frosty highlighter has a snowflake theme on top. While this seems to be overspray at first you realize the snow flakes go partially down into the powder. But be warned. They don't go all the way down. This still makes them "technically" overspray. That's OK. The pink powder is really the gem in this highlighter.
The Dior Diorsnow Iridescent Powder Lumieres de Neige 001 is finely milled. The frost is pretty strong, not like a MAC, MSF, it's definitely more subtle than that. However, it's more frosty than Guerlain Meteorites. Does that make any sense? It's a good in-between highlighter. It imparts a loverly pink glow that is not overly pink and not overly white. It gives a dewy look while still being matte. I gotta love that!

If I was going to compare or suggest possible dupes I would say that the the Dior Diorsnow Iridescent Powder Lumieres de Neige 001 is like a powder form of Benefit Highbeam liquid. Or a pressed version of MAC Pink Opal pigment.

So I suppose you could get dupes…but you know, and I know they wouldn't be the same. Sure, you can buy this powder but not for long. Izzy's is a great resources for discontinued items, but they don't have everything and they don't have it forever. So what is your plan?
Rush out and purchase?
Wait unit you see one on Evilbay (Like I Did)?
Buy a dupe?
Live vicariously though me?
Curse me for showing you yet another Hard To Find (HTF) highlighter?
Eat chocolate to contract the depressing feelings of seeing yet another beautiful highlighter that you couldn't possibly ever own? Actually You don't really need an excuse to eat chocolate. In fact. I'd like some chocolate too. Can you share? I'll put some of the Dior Diorsnow Iridescent Powder Lumieres de Neige 001on your cheeks in trade.
Looks really good. In the pan, but also swatched!
