Kiehl's Creme de Corps Body Lotion - Review, Pictures, Swatches

Kiehl's Creme de Corps Kenny Scharf Label

When I was send a small bottle of the Kiehl's Creme de Corps body lotion I was so happy.  Not only because this was going to be on of the first time I have used this Cult Status for the past 4 decades  lotion, but also because Kenny Scharf's design was on the babel.  if you want more information about Kenny Scharf and the Kiehl's Charity click HERE!

Anyway. I know what you all are thinking.

"It's just body lotion, Elvira. How amazing can it really be?"

You're right. it is body lotion but it's not "JUST" body lotion.

You see. I have insanely dry skin...everywhere but my face. It's like all the oil glands in my body decided to hang out on my face and left the rest of me high and literally dry.  I go through bottles and bottles of lotion.  I buy inexpensive body lotion whenever I can. I don't care the brand, I just care of it's on sale. I like some brands better than others but they all seem to do the same job. Moisturize for a few hours, then I need to reapply.  However...when I was give the chance to try out the Kiehl's Creme de Corps body lotion I found that the lotion moisturized longer than some other brands I had been using.  In fact, the more I used this lotion, the less I had to use later on. The longer I used this lotion, the nicer my skin started to look.  It was then that I had an epiphany.  Perhaps spending a little more for quality is worth it compared to spending less money just for quantity.

Quality over Quantity.  Now that's a novel idea. I wonder if anyone has ever thought of that before?  Well I am too busy to google it, so I'll just assume I discovered it.  Yes. Quality is important.  As with the Kiehl's Creme de Corps I found a little goes a long way. This lotion is very moisturizing.  Since my skin is very dry, it "drinks in" any lotion quite fast, so your results may vary, but I found this lotion to absorb quickly and moisturize efficiently in a short amount of time.

16.9 fl oz bottle retails for $48 USD

Quality over Quantity.  Like I said, a little goes a long way. Some other lotions I have used require two or thee pumps just for one leg.  At that rate I was going through bottles quite fast.  The more lotion I used the more the SCENT of the lotion overpowered me.  I like an unscented or low scented lotion like Kiehl's Creme de Corps because it won't compete with my perfume and I can apply it at the office without asphyxiating my cow-workers (you read that correctly, not a typo) with the lotion scent du jour.

Quality over Quantity.  Many lotions are runny and liquefy upon application.  The Kiehl's Creme de Corps lotion is thick, dense, viscose. Check it out. applied to my arm and my arm is upside down.  That lotion isn't going anywhere.

Quality over Quantity. Many lotions make you feel like you have a second layer of skin. It might feel stick-y or silicone-y or mask-y.  The Kiehl's Creme de Corps felt lightweight almost invisible on my skin. I didn't feel like I needed a shower from some sticky lotion and I didn't feel like my skin was suffocating either!  My skin felt soft and moisturized and it felt felt like skin!

1 liter pump retails for $75 USD

Do you NEED this?  Well I will admit it is on the expensive side. There are other lotions that probably cost less that work almost as well, but I have yet to find one that meets all my criteria as far as Texture, Moisturization, Fragrance, and Finish.   So If you want to join the cult of Kiehl's Creme de Corps fanatics I say hop on board.  Now's a great time to buy some as the Creme de Corps lavels are featuring the vibrant work, "Globo Mundo" by Kenny Scharf.  These are limited edition and only available for this holiday season.  In collaboration with the Iconic Pop Surrealist, Kiehl’s will raise $200,000 for children’s causes around the world.  In the United States, 100% of net profits will support RxArt,  a non-profit organization committed to fostering artistic expression for young patients in pediatric hospitals.   Soft skin and a soft heart. That's a perfect combination!
8.4 oz bottle retails for $29.50 USD

  1. :) I live by Quality over Quantity. I'll tell everyone you came up with it though:)

    1. Thanks! It will be our little secret! ;-)

  2. I love Kiehl's, but this packaging is SO unlike Kiehl's... I can't get over it, lol :-) Still deciding on whether I like it or not. Still adjusting to it, I guess. And in the end what is inside is what counts, right.

    1. It is what is on the inside...but you can still buy the regular label CdC lotion if that look is more pleasing to you. :-)

  3. Replies
    1. I wasn't able to detect a scent...might be because I have a slight cold. The Whipped Body Butter of the Creme de Corps smells like honey and coconut! I love that!

  4. Oh I totally know what you mean about having no oil glands in your body and having them all in your face. So annoying. I really want to try this! You make it sound so perfect :) xo

    1. It really is nice. Kiehl's is great with samples. See if you can get one before you purchase. :-)

  5. That packaging is... *love* I have had this on my 'to try' list for so long, I think it's time to splurge!

  6. Third ingredient in this is synthetic, AND it has propylene glycol, which gives me nasty rashes, so no thanks. If you're lotion seems drying, or just not adequate, it's probably got some form of synthetic in it(usually mineral oil in the cheap lotions). My skin used to be horribly dry until I started using lotions made with natural oils. Now it's still dry, but only in the winter, and I only have to use some lotion after showering.

    1. Sorry Propoylene glycol does not agree with your skin.

  7. I love Ophelia's Apothecary's Whipped Body Butter. It's natural, reasonably priced ($ 14.99 for 4.2 oz), and you can get it in a variety of scents if you want. The only issue I have is that they are an indie company, with severe health issues, so sometimes it takes forever to get your order...but it SOOOOOO worth it!!!!! Their lip balms are divine as well.
