Once upon a time there lived a woman named Literal Linda. Literal Linda was a very Black Or White, Yes or No type person, and she also had problems with nuances of the English language. For example. When some one was giving Literal Linda directions and they said "Take a right at the fork in the road" Literal Linda would search forever for an actual fork, like cutlery fork, in the road before turning right. Literal Linda got lost and was often late to her appointments. When watching the news, Literal Linda was often confused about accounts of Gorilla Warfare, as she saw no giant apes with helmets and machine guns running through the streets on TV. She was perplexed when she heard that the Queen reigned for 50 years and wonder if her royal highness ever felt soggy with all that rain coming off of her. Literal Linda never wanted to be toasted at a dinner, she was quite comfortable at room temperature and preferred chocolate pudding to a Chocolate Mousse as she figured a moose would be awfully big and not very delicious, even if it was covered in chocolate. As you can imagine. Literal Linda was an accountant. Numbers were always the same and never mislead her.
One day Literal Linda, while crunching some tax reports at home when she was approached by her new neighbor. Literal Linda wanted to be respectful, but her new neighbor claimed that birds could talk and that one of them, a small one in fact, told her that Linda might like some makeup as a present. Talking birds? Literal Linda was skeptical that a bird told her neighbor that, but Literal Linda had been on the hunt for a new concealer, that was true.
Literal Linda's neighbor produces, from her pocket, a disc of 5 different colors in one hefty pan. The triangles looking like uneven pizza slices, because Literal Linda thinks every pizza should have 6 to 8 slices, depending on the size of the pie. But we digress. The curious little palette is called The Lise Watier Portfolio Professional Corrector. This was no portfolio that Literal Linda had ever seen. It had no pages and showed no examples of work. It was a pan with multiple shades in it. Literal Linda smiled but declined the gift.
"I'm not purple", Said Literal Linda "I'm also not green, brown or yellow/apricot. This looks like it might be better suited for an alien!" she huffed.
Literal Linda's neighbor was patient. She had to be in order to live next to such an "interesting character". The neighbor explained that each color would work well with her skin tone despite the green, lilac and brown.
Literal Linda sighed and decided that, out of respect, she would listen to her neighbor this one time. even if she didn't make any sense.
The neighbor explained that you can apply the Green to counteract redness, like the little bits of redness Literal Linda had as the corners of her nose.
Apply the Lilac to brighten the complexion as Literal Linda did have a sallow look to her at times.
Apply the Brown to sculpt and define. Literal Linda had been eyeing how sculpted Adel's cheekbones looked. She wondered if they meant Adel's cheeks were sculpted with makeup and not with a chisel. That certainly would be less painful!
Apply the Yellow Beige to hide blue veins and dark circles. Oh Those dark circles from staying awake all night when people tell her not to let the bed bugs bite. She finally had a camouflage to combat the tired eyes she had from not sleeping as a result of fear of being bitten.
And apply the Ivory to soften and hide dark circles and any other imperfections. Well that was the only color that really made sense at first glace to Literal Linda.
But Literal Linda imagined a multicolored polka-dotted face of brown green and lilac. This would be a disaster. The patient and understanding neighbor sat Literal Linda down and explained the application process as she put the Lise Watier Portfolio Corrector on her face.

With a concealer brush and small metal spatula the neighbor used minuscule amounts of the Portfolio corrector all over Literal Linda's face. At times she mixed some moisturizer with some of the triangles to create a more sheer and smoother look. Other times she used the heat of her fingers to liquefy the product so it would spread easily in the area of application. With careful mixing and blending and the proper tools (like a concealer brush) Literal Linda looking in the mirror was in shock. She had what looked like flawless skin. He sallow skin tone was evened out, the red around her nose was gone, those dark circles under her eyes were banished and she had defined cheeks for the first time in years. The creme to powder formula was insanely pigmented and when it dried it didn't settle into fine lines at all. She even found that she used less overall makeup once she started using the Lise Watier Portfolio Corrector. That was great. Less is more, after all! (Literal Linda never understood that phrase) Literal Linda was elated and her new "face" glowed with happiness.
Literal Linda went out shopping and then to a ballroom dance lesson, but she never liked going because the lesson was never held in a ballroom, just some sad studio above a Italian Restaurant. She hopped into the restaurant for some spaghetti and meat balls, the most literal thing on the menu, and enjoyed her steamy meal in the steamy restaurant. When Literal Linda come home she expected to see all of her makeup gone, but lo and behold the cream to powder formula was so long lasting, she was shocked to see that most of her portfolio concealer was still in place.
Literal Linda immediately sat down to write a Thank You note to her neighbor for such a thoughtful and generous gift. She was "hooked" on Lise Watier cosmetics now and didn't even look for an actual hook on her body. She knew that it was only an expression.
Do you NEED this? Well it will certainly last you a VERY long time. A little goes a long way. It can be used for contour or correction. It can be mixed with moisturizer or serums for an all over tint or applied heavier for more opaque coverage. You can buy this for $31 USD at the www.lisewatier.us website for delivery to the US.
HOWEVER...

1+1=2, and nope, never used Lise Watier before. I've wanted to try, though!
ReplyDeleteB, and I haven't used Lise Watier cosmetics before. I hadn't heard of the brand until they flew you to Montreal. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm still searching for THE concealer so this would be perfect!! :D
ReplyDeleteDoes it make me a bad Canadian that I have not tried this yet? LOL Fab review as always!
ReplyDeleteB, and no, I've never used this brand and until this week I didn't even know about it. Very excited to give it a try though :-)
ReplyDeleteOooo this is exciting!
ReplyDelete1 + 1 = answer b) 2. I have never used this brand before, but this seems like a wonderful product!

B!
ReplyDeleteI just heard of her through your blog but it sounds very intriguing.
The answer is 2, and I've never used that brand but would love to try it.
ReplyDelete1+1=2, and while I've heard of LW, I always assumed it was overly pricey, so I never even looked into trying the brand.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw this on yesterday's post, it caught my eye. Seeing it's paraben-free just makes it better.
1+1=2, unless this is "1984," and I've never tried LW because I think you could only get it on eBay or at a big markup. So excited it's available for the US now!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what would happen if anyone answered other than 2 or B (which are the right answers obviously) because answering any of them specifically would indicate not a robot. I have never used LW either and it looks very interesting!
ReplyDeleteB/ never used this product before. This is the first I've heard of the brand too. I've been interested in color correcting lately...
ReplyDelete1 and 1 is 2 and i havent used any of her cosmetics
ReplyDelete1) 1+1 = B) 2

1) 1+1=2, I think. I'm pretty sure. I had to count it out on my toes a few times.
ReplyDelete2) I've never used her products before, but I still have an advertisement from Lise Watier saved on my computer that's ages old, but lovely. It's in my inspirations folder, the most beautiful smokey blue eye.

ReplyDeleteI've never used Lise Waiter cosmetics before but I would love to give them a try, especially this portfolio. I'm a new mom of a 4 month old who didn't read the baby books about how long babies should nap during the day and sleep at night. Therefore, I'm all about experimenting with concealer for my ever deepening purple eye bags.
B) 2. I have not, but I've been wanting to try a Lise Watier product for a while now.
ReplyDeleteElvira, you're too funny! I'd never even heard of Lise Watier until you told us about your trip, but I've been dying to pick up one of those concealer portfolios. Oh, and 1+1=2. :)
ReplyDelete1) B
ReplyDelete2) Nope! But your review is very convincing that I should try this instead of trying to cake on more foundation on my redness and undereyes! ^^
1: B. 1+1=2
ReplyDelete2: I have not tried Lise Waiter cosmetics before, but after reading Literal Linda's experience with the concealer wheel I definitely would like to try the products!
I really love your writing style, Elvira. You are able to write product reviews as fun, interesting stories. I've not come across any other blogs that do this, and I always look forward to your "Story Time Reviews".
Whoops, typo in my comment! Lise Watier, not Waiter.
Delete1. B, 2.
ReplyDelete2. No, I'm American, so this USA launch is exciting. I've heard about it before from Canadian blogs though.

ReplyDeleteB, haven't used and LW products but this would be a great place to start!
ReplyDeleteB. I've heard of Lise Watier, but never tried her line. I have been on a concealer finding mission, although I still kind of doubt that any concealer can hide my under eye unsightliness. I would love to try out some really high end concealer, see if it actually lives up to it's price!
ReplyDeleteit only took me four tries to defeat the Captcha, maybe I am a robot...

B and yes. I have several in my collection.
ReplyDeleteB. and I have neither heard of nor used anything by Lise Watier before. Of course I am compelled now to go search for more as I recently aged a good 7 or 8 years in the last 10 months and need to either reclaim my lost years or 'look' like I have. Being single at this age (45) is no joke.
