Thursday Poll

Passwords. I must have 7 billion of them. It's impossible to remember them all so I have to have an app that tells me what all of them are.  Thank goodness I have an app on my phone to tell me because before I had a little note that was PASSWORD protected that told me all the silly passwords.  And I know what you are thinking, why not have one password for everything.  Well then I might as well let my password be "password" because that's not very secure at all.  If a hacker figures out one password, they use it for all of your other accounts and guess what?  Yup. they now have access to everything. So let's see. I have multiple e-mail accounts, social network accounts, e-commerce accounts, work e-mail accounts, work software accounts, ugh. It's probably 50 or so passwords.  I just decided to start doing random numbers and letters because I seriously couldn't begin to remember them all.  My memory is crap. I mean seriously. I have the worst memory. I blame it on the fact that my brain is full up with movie quotes, incorrect song lyrics, things that cannot be unseen, and makeup names and colors.  If I could just delete information like I can on my compute I would be set.  How awesome would it be to have a plug in the back of your head to upload and download information.  Sure. Like in the movie The Matrix.  Only we wouldn't be par of some horrible robot conspiracy and "Agents" wouldn't be trying to kill us, but to upload a kung fu file and then KNOW kung fu afterwards, would be awesome!  Think about studying for a test. It would take three seconds.  Learning to drive a car a half a second, reading all the classic novels maybe 10 seconds.  Our brains are very powerful and we apparently only use a small percentage of it, we would have so much room for more stuff!  Plus if we go through an incredibly bad relationship, we can just download that info and get rid of it. Perhaps you were one of the people that watched 2 girls, 1 cup. you could get rid of the old "what has been seen cannot be unseen" in a second and saves hundreds of dollars on not having to go into therapy!  Oh sure, our experience and memories make us the person we are today and without those experiences we would be different, but come on.  I think we all want to un-remember Transformers 2 or Jar Jar Binks or Roseanne Barr singing the National Anthem.  Right?  Well until we get USB ports into our brains I guess I'll just try to work on remembering things, like where the heck I put my car keys and what purse or coat I left my Hourglass lip gloss in.
On To The Poll!

1.  Blush Of The Day? - Chanel Joues Contraste in Rose Petale.  A standard for days when I'm too sleepy to think about coordinating blush to my makeup or outfit.

2.  Do you remember all your passwords or do you have an app or do you have to constantly re-set them? - I will answer YES to all three because i have an app, but if I don't update it I forget the passwords and then have to re-set. Very annoying.

3.  Is there a beauty product everyone is excited about but you're just Meh about it? - The Laura Mercier Art Deco collection. I still find her makeup quite un-pigmented (even in the swatches I have seen of the new collection). I'm just not excited about it.

4.  What is your earliest memory? - I remember swimming in the bay by my aunt's beach house in New York and the blue plastic plates we ate off of in the house.  That's it.

5.  Is there a beauty brand or product that everyone is has been excited about for a while and you FINALLY purchased it or something from that brand? - Yes. Makeup Geek eyeshadows. I finally broke down and ordered 4 of them last night. I don't need any more eyeshadows, but I have seen the swatches and I'm intrigued.  Plus there are many taupes to choose from!!

  1. I have 4 passwords in total, so it's manageable. My trick for safe passwords: pick a brand you like and remove the vowels or replace them by other symbols like 3 for e, @ for a... Pretty foolproof and hard to decode!

    1. Blush Of The Day? - RBR Florita

    2. Do you remember all your passwords or do you have an app or do you have to constantly re-set them? - well since I only have 3-4, worst case I try them all :)

    3. Is there a beauty product everyone is excited about but you're just Meh about it? - Guerlain Ballz. I have one set but I don't get it.

    4. What is your earliest memory? When I was exactly two we went to visit family in Yugoslavia and I remember a humidity spot on the ceiling above my bed, which I then was quite scared of.

    5. Is there a beauty brand or product that everyone is has been excited about for a while and you FINALLY purchased it or something from that brand? - A Shiseido liplacquer.
I hope you'll like your MUG eyeshadows, they're lush :)

  2. 1. Blush of the day - my own deathly pallor b/c I have a cold & didn't have the energy to do more than slather on some BB cream to go to work.

    2. I recently changed them b/c someone, somehow, broke into my Bloomingdales account & ordered crap men's perfume. I think the fault was with Bloomingdales online security b/c I didn't lose the card and I don't keep passwords online but in a notebook. So now I can't remember any passwords because I made new ones for EVERY account just to be safe and they are in the notebook which does not move from its spot or I'd be screwed.

    3. Ok, the Art Deco collection. I saw the swatches too and I wasn't excited but when I was in Sephora it was right there in front of me so I thought why not give it a go? Fatal mistake. I tried the Gilded Platinum & Bronze and I loved them! I found them to be more pigmented than I had expected from the online swatches so I bought the Bronze as the Platinum was sold out. I have to say, the bronze is actually a TAUPE (yes I had to shout that) on me. I love it and it looks amazing (and sparkly) on with some black liner and a great red lip. I really need to find the Platinum now. I actually found Chanel's holiday collection to be less exciting in person than the raves online. oh well.

    4. My earliest memory offhand was going with my dad to the hospital to see my mom when my sister was born, I was 3 and a half years old. :)

    5. Well, I've read a lot of great reviews about Edward Bess so I did finally purchase 2 items. They are nice but not all that exciting. I hear one of his new quads has taupe-ish shadows so I will check it out at least. Also don't quite get the Ellis Faas excitement. I've tried some of her things in Sephora and I don't like them. My wallet thanks me. :)

  3. I like to use "nonsense" words that mean something to me, like schmeeshma, bloopbloop, and so on. Also nice is a misspelling you can easily remember, like osomme, tahttiem, ermagherd, etc. Once you've got one of those picked out, just replace any applicable letters with 1337speek, or have a certain letter always be capitalized. That'll always pass the "strength" test. Once you've got those, you can just have enough of the password in your list or whatever that can remind you of what the password is without having the entire thing in a big list for anyone to see!

  4. 1. Nars Orgasm Multiple. I'm so lazy in the morning I can't be bothered to find a brush.
    2. I just remember my passwords or reset them often. They're all based on things I can easy remember with alternating capitalization and numbers. It's not super safe but whatev. It is irritating to have to try several variations to log in somewhere, but I'm too lazy to use an app.
    3. I buy more nail polish than other cosmetics. It might be an ass-y thing to say but I don't understand the hype over some overpriced indie brands. Sure, it's a great idea and the colors are pretty but my experience has been subpar application. And I don't care what glitters are in it if application sucks. I'm not gonna waste my time or anymore of my money.
    4. My earliest memory goes in the category of things I'd like to delete. Nothing too demented, but unpleasant for sure.
    5. Since I'm somewhat of a makeup noob, I just used UD 24/7 Glide-on eyeliner. Oh my god. I love them. I hurried up and bought the Ocho Loco set. I'm a happy girl!

  5. 1. Blush Of The Day? - Laura Mercier Rose Pink Quad. Love it, such a pretty flattering glow and you only need a touch of it.

    2. Do you remember all your passwords or do you have an app or do you have to constantly re-set them? - I have several go-to passwords but sometimes I forget and end up resetting them.

    3. Is there a beauty product everyone is excited about but you're just Meh about it? - The Laura Mercier Art Deco collection. I still find her makeup quite un-pigmented (even in the swatches I have seen of the new collection). I'm just not excited about it. Especially when I have a password saved on the computer (so it automatically enters it) and then it doesn't for some reason.

    4. What is your earliest memory? - Watching a banana slug in SF.

    5. Is there a beauty brand or product that everyone is has been excited about for a while and you FINALLY purchased it or something from that brand? - Not particularly...

  6. 1. Blush of the day - something from Inglot - can't recall the name/number of it.

    2. Yes - I have an system for assigning a name based on a combination of things related to the actual site. Someone would have to know the system to figure it out - but it is easy for me to remember and easy for me to recall all the passwords, and each one is unique for each site.

    3. Well, it seems like I try quite a few things that I am not that impressed by. Recently I've been trying to find an under-eye concealor w/o much luck, even w/ the well-reviewed ones.

    4. One of the earliest memories is that of my little sister coming home from the hospital w/ my mom after she was born.

    5. I ordered the holiday package from Tarte - I haven't tired it yet but I am looking forward to it.

  7. 1. Blush of the day - none, actually. I have had a day of doing nothing around the house and getting my nails done and I didn't bother with blush. I wore a lipsurgence lip tint and that was it.

    2. I have a series of passwords based on what I'm writing at the moment or have written. Most of my passwords don't get rotated that often but some do, and I change them to another password in my set. My email is set to expire my password every 72 days, for example, and my work password expires every 75 days.

    3. I can't think of anything I'm not excited about at the moment. I wasn't all that into Chanel Notorious but now I'm starting to think I missed my chance to get it and I'm kinda bummed.

    4. Earliest memory...playing on the rocking horse in my aunt's house, in her front window. I was maybe 3?

    5. Not yet but I think I'm going to pick up one of the Armani Lip Maestros tomorrow, and I haven't tried anything from Armani yet.

  8. 1. Blush Of The Day? - e.l.f. cream blush

    2. Do you remember all your passwords or do you have an app or do you have to constantly re-set them? - I remember most of them, but sometimes I do forget. I kinda have a system but it doesn't always work, lol.

    3. Is there a beauty product everyone is excited about but you're just Meh about it? - Oil-based hair products.

    4. What is your earliest memory? - That is such a difficult question :-O I don't know...

    5. Is there a beauty brand or product that everyone is has been excited about for a while and you FINALLY purchased it or something from that brand? - I STILL don't have the Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer... It's high time I get it, really...
