Thursday Poll

What is it about driving in a car that compels people to pick their nose?  Is there some sort of magnetic force when sitting in the driver's seat that causes the hand to be repelled from the steering wheel and go straight for the nostrils?  When I drive to work, every morning I see at least one person a day (if not more) sitting in traffic with their finger in their nose "digging for gold".  Granted I don't notice it when I'm driving, just sitting in traffic is when I see it. I suspect people do it all the time, I just don't notice because I'm keeping my eyes on the road and not on passing motorists.  Do you know how many germs are on the steering wheel, shifter radio knobs, etc. in your car?  Especially cars in America because Americans eat in their car more than any other country.  You touch your steering wheel and then put your finger in your nose?  Gross on it's own, but doubly gross when you have germy hands.  No wonder people always have colds.  It's a terrible habit.  I can't judge too much because I have bad habits too. I don't pick my nose, but I do have other bad habits.  I don't eat right. I drink too much sugar-free soda, I watch too much TV, I buy too much makeup...Oh, wait... that doesn't count.  I don't wash my makeup brushes as often as I should.  Yeah. That's a bad one.  For someone with sensitive and acne prone skin I should be religious about washing my brushes.  I'm pretty good about washing foundation and concealer brushes but powder brushes...not so much. And I really should be.  Everyone has bad habits, and usually around New Year's they try to get rid of those bad habits by making New Years Resolutions.  I hate them.  Usually because you are coming off of a 6 week long orgy of food, consumerism and slacking and then all of a sudden you have to stop everything "Cold Turkey".  I used to smoke and even quitting Cold Turkey didn't work for me.  I did quit, and in February it will be 13 years smoke free, but still I had to ease into it. This year I do plan on starting to eat better and wash my brushes more often. I don't plan on watching less TV tho.  There are too many good shows to watch for me to miss out on all of them.  Plus I read almost all day at work and before I go to bed. I deserve some down time and vegging in front of the TV for 2 hours a day isn't too bad.  Is it?  Oh well, I'm sure you all will let me know.
On To The Poll!

1.)  Lip Of The Day? - Well It's one of the coldest days of the week so I decided to mix things up a bit and go with a pretty peach colored gloss.  I'm wearing my Lise Watier Haute Colour Lip Lacquer in Ooh La La!

2) Do you have a bad habit you would like to confess to? - I did above with my eating and brush washing.  You don't need to confess too much. I don't need to know that you are an axe murder or pick your nose when you sit in traffic or anything like that.

3) How often do you wash your makeup brushes? - Every week or three days for creme products and every 2 weeks or more for powder products, which is going to change ASAP. I am going to be better about it!

4) How much TV do you watch a day? (Hulu watching and TV on your computer count)  - On the weekdays I probably watch 2 hours of TV. Thank goodness for the DVR or I would miss all of my favorite shows. On the weekends it's probably closer to 3 or 4 hours. but that's because the weather is colder and I'm inside more.

5)  Do you have a favorite eyeshadow brush?  If so what is it?  If not do you hope to find one in the answers from others? - I do, but it is long since discontinued. It is a Lancome GWP brush from like 20+ years ago. Still looks brand new.  Love that brush. I think my MAC 213 Fluff Brush is my close second. I have 2 of them and I must say, they are multi-tasking and awesome.

  1. 1.) Lip Of The Day? - was Mac Fanfare, picked at random in a hurry from my mega bag

    2) Do you have a bad habit you would like to confess to? - I spend way too much and really don't save enough. And I'm an extremely picky eater, allergies give me some excuses but really I should eat more veggies.

    3) How often do you wash your makeup brushes? - Normally once a week.

    4) How much TV do you watch a day? The TV is on for a few hours but I'm always on the computer at the same time. I only really *watch* a few things, like Fringe or a maybe one movie in the week. Being on the internet non stop is probably my #1 bad habit.

    5) Do you have a favorite eyeshadow brush? If so what is it? If not do you hope to find one in the answers from others? - I'm going to tell about an underrated one: mac 227. It applies a lot at one go (and I have big lids) and it blends the edges easily. It's my eraser brush I use to apply my matte higlighter and soften the edges of my color at one go. I'd be lost without it.

  2. 1.) Carmex Mositure Plus in sheer pink.

2.) Procrastination is the bane of my existence. Oh, and I'm a blogaholic...I spend too much time reading blogs, no bueno!

    3.) Once a week? maybe?

4.) I'll never tell! Too many and I'm embarassed to admit it! Although I do it simultaneously while reading blogs on the internet!

5.) It is a L'Oreal blending brush that I bought about 8 or 9 years ago at a .99c store. It's lasted that long, no shedding, as good as new, granted the name faded from the barrel long time ago. Best brush ever, good thing I stocked up. I can totally see myself using it for a few more years!

  3. 1.Lip of the Day: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle. Neutral but totally versatile.

    2. Bad habit: I am constantly taking my shoes off everywhere. It's terrible. OH and I interrupt people when we're talking.

    3. Brush Care: Since I don't wear it everyday, I forget to wash them for months, which is TERRIBLE.

    4. I watch a ridiculous amount of TV, between that and reading I don't know how I get anything done whatsoever.

    5. My favorite makeup brush is an even tie between two Laura Mercier brushes. The Corner Eye Colour Brush and the Flat Eye-liner Brush. Best money I ever spent was on those two brushes. Completely changed the way I do eyemakeup on myself and anyone I get my hands on.

  4. !) LOTD- Estee Lauder Spice pencil with Clinique Glosswear in Fireberry.

    2) Bad habit- grooming in public(plucking in the car- hey, that is the best light!) or painting nails on the steering wheel, at the dinner table, living room etc. I need a makeup room and have none!

    3) Brushes- when I can't stand it anymore. bad on me.

    4) Don't know- my guesstimate is about an hour a day. some days I do without, some days it is overload.

    5) can I say I just bought the Naked 2 Palette and the brush is horrible! no control there whatsoever. Luckily my Stript Oval Shadow 00184 just fits in the space. This guy is a wonder- super soft, cleans easy, perfect size, picks up just the right amount of shadow-great control! a gift from my sis- I want to find where I can get some more. Ah-may-Zing!!

  6. I always see nose pickers too! But what really gets me are people that cough without making any attempt to cover it up...gross!

    1.) Lip Of The Day?
Silk Naturals lippie in Symphony; it's pretty hydrating for my 'addicted to balm' lips.

    2) Do you have a bad habit you would like to confess to? I don't get enough sleep, sometimes just because I want to stay up watching makeup youtube videos...and I spend too much on cosmetics :)

    3) How often do you wash your makeup brushes?
I wash them with shampoo about once a week, and in between I use a disinfecting brush cleaner and a washcloth...or I just create a huge pile of dirty brushes and just use clean ones as I own an ungodly amount of brushes.

    4) How much TV do you watch a day? (Hulu watching and TV on your computer count)
I want to watch TV, but I haven't had time to watch it in months. Now that the semester is over I'm probably going to veg for a week straight!

    5) Do you have a favorite eyeshadow brush? If so what is it? If not do you hope to find one in the answers from others?
This bare minerals brush (like a cross between a 217 and 239) that came with a starter set...like 5 years ago. It's still going strong!

  7. 1.) Lip Of The Day? Guerlain KissKiss divine bronze
    2) Do you have a bad habit you would like to confess to? not enough sleep, and I should stop missing with my pimples on my face!
    3) How often do you wash your makeup brushes? once a week en general
    4) How much TV do you watch a day? (Hulu watching and TV on your computer count) : between 3 to 4 hrs a day (too much!)
    5) Do you have a favorite eyeshadow brush? If so what is it? If not do you hope to find one in the answers from others? Lancome #12 is my favorite (I have two) Clarins eyeshader is very similar but smaller: MAC 226 is a close second!

  8. 1. Fresh Sugar lip balm.

2, Yes; I'm a "hoarder"-makeup, shoes, clothes, etc. (No, I'm not like those people on TV; my "hoard" is actually very organized, and in the closet, drawers, shelves, etc.)

    3. I try to "spot-clean" after each use, or if I don't, I have a separate cup for dirty brushes. I "deep-clean" every few weeks; I have 3 cups of brushes, and I wash one every week. However, brushes used for cream or gel products sometimes get washed more often.

    4. I'm a stay-at-home-mom, so the TV is on all day. I don't watch mundane sitcoms, soaps, or talk-shows too often though. I also stay up too late every night because I *must* watch The Five & Red Eye.

    5. I know I will likely be alone on this, but I absolute-ly *love* the brush that came with my UD Naked 2 palette. If I use the paddle side with *any* UD shadow, I get no fallout, and the color applies so evenly.

  9. 1. Lip - Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in #502 (Artdeco; no idea why they called it that)
    2. Bad habit - I bite my nails if they're not done. This is the primary reason why I have gel nails and I do shellac polish; I can't bite them and screw them up!
    3. Brushes - it depends. For brushes that have used powder products only, I'll spray a paper towel with brush cleaner and wipe my brushes down after use, but I don't shampoo them that often. For, like, my foundation brush, I wash after using. But I mostly use powder foundation or BB cream these days, and the former uses a sponge and the latter I use my fingers.
    4. TV - I don't watch TV. No, really. The closest I get is watching Doctor Who after I've downloaded it. It's never been a thing of mine.
    5. Eyeshadow brush - I don't often wear eyeshadow so I don't know as I have a favorite brush? The last time I wore eyeshadow I used the EcoTools eyeshadow brush I have and it worked fine, I guess. I have a few Sonia Kashuk eyeshadow brushes that I like, too.

  10. I know it's Monday morning. Still answering.
1.) LOTD - Bite Beauty's Luminous Creme Lipstick in Fig, except now it's the middle of the night and I've taken it off and put Detrivore's Embalming Tube lip balm in vanilla on.

    2) Do you have a bad habit you would like to confess to? - I don't save enough, I buy too much makeup, I buy too many clothes that I don't wear, and I keep clothes that will never fit me again for sentimental reasons.

    3) How often do you wash your makeup brushes? - I try for twice a week, so I usually land on once a week. I do wash any brush I use liquid foundation with immediately, but since I usually wear powder foundation, that's not as helpful as it could be.

    4) How much TV do you watch a day? I don't watch TV everyday, I kind of hate TV. I might watch an hour or two a week. I spend my 'tv time' screwing around (not literally) on the internet.

    5) Eyeshadow brushes - Urban Decay's Multitasker brush and Japonesque 811 (small eye detailer brush) are probably tied for first. I love shorter-handled brushes, they're more maneuverable. I have small hands and a small face and small eye sockets with deep-set eyes, so I need tiny brushes. Using a regular shadow brush is like using a paint roller.
