I am in the process of testing about a kizillion (not an actual or accurate number) products sent to me by DermOrganic. This company has a special niche in the Argan Oil infused hair care products. but what makes them different is that:
DermOrganic products are all vegan, made without animal by-products and are never tested on animals. They contain no sulfates, glycols, DEA, MEA, dyes or food coloring and are Gluten-free. Their products also contain no artificial preservatives are Paraben-free and are made without salt, sodium chloride or other artificial thickeners
Over the coming weeks I will review various products from the line. But I wanted to give all of YOU a chance to win a set of DermOrganic Products to try for yourself.
This giveaway is open INTERNATIONALLY to anyone over the age of 18.
Included in the giveaway is 1 DermOrganic Daily Conditioning Shampoo (Sulfate-free), 1 Daily Hydrating Conditioner, 1 Intensive Hair Repair Masque, and 1 Leave-in Spray Shine Therapy.
I have been using all of these products for a few weeks and I must say that even with my incredibly damaged hair the Hair Repair Masque really did a great job of smoothing the cuticle of my hair and made it feel ofter than it has in a long time. Of course nothing will repair the damage I caused to my hair except for cutting it all off. That's something I plan to do and then test these products again when my hair feels even healthier from having about 4-6 inches of fried chemically treated and heat processed hair chopped off.
Pay Attention here. There will be a quiz later.
DermOrganic contains the legendary Argan Oil in each product it sells. If you have never heard of Argan oil, you can read about it on Wikipedia.
Just so you know:
Argan oil is produced from the kernels of argan tree fruit. These trees only grow in a few regions, like Morocco, so this oil is one of the rarest in the world due the small supply and the limited growing area.
Argan oil is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids. People use Argan oil in many ways from hair care to skin care. there are a bevy o products on the market today that boast about the powerful benefits of Argan Oil.
Normally the oil is produced by first stripping the soft pulp from the nuts. Then they are cured in the sun. The nuts are cracked open and the seeds removed. They roast the seeds add water and grind the nuts into a thick paste. The paste is then squeezed and the oil is extracted.
BUT (no pun intended)
There is documentation that there is another way to produce this oil. The breaking of the nut shells is fairly labor intensive. The Moroccans found that it was easier to have the goats to eat the fruit from the Argan tree, wait for the seeds pass through the goat’s digestive track, and collect the now softer, partially digested seed from the er…um…other end.
The digested seeds are easier to break open. Do most companies use this practice to extract the oils? NO! Don’t worry. The Argan oil you put on your face, hair and salad dressing most likely did not come out of a goats butt! I just liked the idea of being able to write about a goat poop on my blog...again!
So without further ado.. Here is the giveaway (Wait for the refflecopter widget to load) You have 6 ways to enter and only one is mandatory (leave a blog post comment)
A winner will be chosen on The 11th of January. Good Luck to all!

ReplyDeleteD) all of the above! :D
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of argan oil, but my boyfriend is the one who uses it religiously. He has hair down to the middle of his back and it is so well maintained because he started using argan serum about two years ago. He'd be the perfect spokesperson for the benefits of argan.
ReplyDeleteAnd I really hope argan DOESN'T come from goat poop. I live by a goat farm and they surely don't poop argan! But according to your post, I guess the answer would be D, All of the above :)

ReplyDeleteI have recently started to use Argan oil on my face and the results on my eczema have been wonderful.
Hm, I guess I am supposed to answer D); but hey, Elvira, are you trying to make me relive my days of Scantron tests? The kind where the answer is probably B and C (because Argan oil doesn't directly come from goat poop, i.e. the goats don't make it in their poop, and why am I talking about this again?) but you know you have to answer D in order to get the question right.
ReplyDeleteAlso. I have been meaning to try Argan oil for a long time now, but have never gotten around to it. Too many foundations to try.

ReplyDeleteB and c. The oil is not from goats poop. The only way to het it from goats poop is to have the goat eat the fruit and then collect the seeds after! :)

ReplyDeleteD) All of the above. How come the expensive, fancy stuff comes from poop? Thinking coffee beans, too.
ReplyDeleteHa! I definitely didn't know that it could come from there. I'm rather curious as to what was going through the mind of the first person to discover that labor saving step...
