I think it's pretty well known, if you read my blog regularly, that I have very sensitive and acne prone skin. I also have a terrible time with hormonal acne on my chin, jaw and neck. I have cut out all dairy from my diet (except for the occasional cheese pizza) and am now working on cutting out sugar from my diet as well. I know diet and hormones play a big part in how clear my skin looks. But for the occasional acne I get on the rest of my face, I now have something effective and mild enough for my sensitive skin to enjoy.
RELOGY Rinse-Free Foam Acne Treatment System is a 2 part system (with a 3rd targeted treatment part) that makes my regular skin care routine so much easier.
Yes! You see the RELOGY system uses Salicylic Acid (from Willow Tree Bark) to deep clean your pores and clear up and prevent acne from forming. It also uses Citrus Bergamie. This is made from the Bergamot orange, which you hear me mention more in perfume reviews than skin care reviews. Bergamot, grown in Southern Italy, is used for its cooling, and calming effect on the skin. It also has natural anti-septic and oil-reducing properties too! Add in some Meadowfoam Seed oil to act as a humectant and natural anti-oxidant, and you have a formula that is effective without drying out the skin.
But a Rinse-Free foam?
Yes. I'm getting to that. You see the RELOGY System suggests that you can apply this directly to your skin without cleaning it first. I think they assume that one is not wearing any makeup or sunscreen. I personally wish to cleanse my skin before putting on any acne treatment. So that's what I did for several weeks. I cleansed my skin with an oil cleanser and soap cleanser every evening to remove my makeup. Then I applied the Rinse-Free foam to my face in areas where my acne was bad and where past breakouts had occurred. The foam dispenser gives you an ample amount, enough for your entire face and neck and I simply patted the foam onto my face.
Here is the tricky part. Waiting for the foam to be absorbed/dissolve on the skin. I hate waiting. So while "waited" for that to happen, which took about 1-2 minutes, I usually plucked my eyebrows or cleaned a makeup brush or two while I waited. The result? I have a lot of clean brushes and my brows have nary a stray hair in sight!
Oh you mean the foam?
Yes. The foam dissipated and the result was a slightly sticky feeling. I wasn't really fond of it, but I guess using a full pump for your face will give you too much product. I then applied the RELOGY 100% Natural Skin Balancing Lotion with Organic Coconut Milk. This smelled like coconut milk. Not that synthetic coconut scent, and not overpowering at all. In fact the scent quickly disappeared once I applied the lotion. I was done. Foam, moisturize and done! I had extra time in the evening! This was a very good thing! I will say that the lotion dispenser also gives you way too much product for your skin. If I used a full pump I had so much lotion that I could see the white streaks on my face from the lotion not absorbing into my skin. Not cool. I learned 1/4 a pump to about a large pea size is good enough for me.
But the Rinse-Free foam, you used it in the morning?
Of course I did. In fact I used this twice a day for several weeks and in the morning I had a different method of application. I would "cleanse" my face with a Micellar Water, then do a quarter or half pump of the foam and let that sink in. Using less foam meant less waiting and less of a sticky feeling. Then I applied my sunscreen and primer and makeup like always. I skipped the 100% Natural Skin Balancing Lotion in the morning because my sunscreen has a moisturizer and I really don't need the extra hydration in the day time.
What I liked and didn't like.
I am not a fan of the targeted treatment stick as I felt it was ineffective and not very sanitary (roller ball application. Bacteria from your face gets on the roller ball and eventually into the product. I'm just not a fan of roller ball anything). The dispensers for the foam and lotion gave out too much of the product, so until you get a handle on how much you need for your face it can be a bit wasteful. The finish of the foam was still a bit sticky. The packaging felt a little cheap, but I'm a packaging hoor, so your results may vary.
What I liked:
While the acne on my neck, jaw and some of the acne on my chin was completely unaffected by the RELOGY System, because it is hormonal acne and it really doesn't respond well to any over the counter treatment, the acne on my forehead, nose and cheeks responded brilliantly to the RELOGY System. In fact I saw a significant decrease in new acne after using this system for several weeks and a reduction in size and life cycle of existing (non hormonal) acne on my face. A pimple that normally would take about a week to disappear using my old acne treatments took about 5 days to go away. That's two days less than normal. Trust me, when dealing with the rogue pimple on the forehead (you know the one that makes you look like you have a 3rd eye) 2 days can be a make it break it issue.
Do You Need This? Maybe. It really depends on the type of acne you have. I did not find this effective on cystic or hormonal acne. But for those that get the occasional or slightly more than occasional whitehead and other small red pimples, I think the RELOGY System will work well for you. The RELOGY Rinse-Free Foam Acne Treatment System retails for $49.95 and you get enough product for 60 days. In addition they will send you new product every 60 days so you don't run out. Also the system has a 60 day money back guarantee! Last but certainly not least. Not only is the RELOGY Rinse-Free Foam Acne Treatment System a pure and natural treatment with no harsh chemicals to savage your skin, it is also Cruelty Free and Vegan! Pretty awesome.
