Senna Cosmetics Haute Nudes Palette in Sultry - Review, Pictures, Swatches

I was recently sent both of Senna Cosmetics Haute Nudes Palettes. Today I am going to review the warmer palette called "Sultry", tomorrow I will bring you the "Mystic" palette.

The Sultry palette is the warmer of the two palettes with plenty of warm browns, beiges and ivory.  The blush is a warm apricot and the highlighter is a frosty peach.  To be honest, I didn't really think I would like either palette. I sometimes get overwhelmed by so many color choices in one palette, but the Senna Cosmetics Haute Nudes palette came with a really helpful guide on where to place the shadows for two different looks.  Plus they also have a video on the Senna Cosmetics Website that shows you how to apply the shadows for 2 different looks. Of course you can apply them any way you want, but for the less creative with application the "cheat sheet" is helpful.

Let's take a closer look at the palette itself. Compact and efficient with an ample mirror. There are brushes and applicators included in the palette as well as an insert that tells you how to apply the colors and gives the names of the shadows, blush and highlighter.

The shadows are a mix shimmer, velvet and matte formulations, and you know what?  They are really pigmented.  Like really well pigmented.  Sure some of the matte shadows are not as smooth as I personally would like, but the color payoff is very respectable.  In fact, one swipe of the shadows and I was really excited to try out the palette.

The blush and highlighter were lovely as well. Sure it's no Chanel Joues Contraste blush, but hey, the entire palette costs less than one Chanel JC blush in the first place.  The bush is well pigmented and the highlighter is NOT disco ball sparkly, but more so shimmery and very wearable.

I found the shadows very wearable for the office and day time, but if I added a bit more of the darker brown to make a darker smokey eye.  I do wish there was a more glittery shade for evening but hey, whatever. That's just me.

This palette would be great for a weekend away because you have all your eye colors and blush all in one and you can make multiple looks from one palette. That's awesome!

Do you NEED this?  If you are warm toned and like a mix of warm nude shades, this is the palette for you!  The blush is lovely and flattering on almost anyone and the shadow selection is diverse enough for multiple looks.  At $48 this is a nice deal for the person just starting out with makeup and would like a nice "kit" or for the expert hoarder of makeup, like myself, that would like a nice compact palette for travel.  So all in all. YES!  You need this.

    1. Really? I don't think so, but I guess the nose is kind of the same. I wish I had her curly hair. Mine goes flat quite fast.

  5. I have these too and I LOVE them! I much prefer the Passion cheek color in Sultry for my skin tone but the shadows in Mystic are my favorites!!

  6. This palette is beautiful too, though I don't think I'd get much use out of the orange blush. I'm too pink. But it would be a great eye shadow.
