Thursday Poll

Ah. It's a new year, 2013, the Mayan Apocalypse didn't happen so I don't have to learn how to spell 'Apocalypse' correctly any more. I saw The Hobbit in IMAX 3-D, and it was AWESOME. The Christmas Tree is put away and I have a new kitten!  That's right!  I have a new cat, he's about 6 months old and he is all grey except for a white star in his chest and belly and two back feet with a little white fur on them.  Even his nose, paws and lips are grey!  He has bright orange eyes and his fur is silky soft and short.  His name is....TARKIN!  As in Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin from the Galactic Empire. (Played by Peter Cushing in the Star Wars IV A New Hope move) You know, the one that blew up Princess Leia's Planet, Alderaan

Ah, now you remember!  This graphic was created by Christian Kit-Paul who actually did a series of iPhone forecasts for various Star Wars planets HERE.  But since they are all in Celsius, the humor is totally lost on me.  (Stupid American that I am)  Anyway. The new kitten, who is almost as big as our 3 year old cat, Cujo, has taken his time to adjust to the home.  I wanted to make sure he bonded with me, since Mr. Sith is The Cat Whisperer and every cat in the world loves him.  Also Cujo wants nothing to do with me.  He is only interested in me if he wants to nap in a lap in the evening, as I tend to sit still better than Mr. Sith. (read = I'm a sloth)  Anyway. I spent 4 days and nights in the guestroom with Tarkin, while he adjusted to the new home and Cujo and Floyd the Bulldog.  At first he hid under the bed for almost a day, but he got hungry and lonely enough to let me pet him, scritch him behind the ears and under his chin. He definitely bonded with me and he is MY cat.  Now he follows me around the house and has become a co-dependant little cat, just Like I always wanted.  He still has a few issues with biting and scratching but with appropriate (water spray bottle usage) discipline, I believe he will grow up to be an excellent leader in the Empire and a trusted adviser to The Emperor....Uh I mean he will grow up to be a good kitty that will give lots of love for a long long time.

Here is his picture.  Sorry it's grainy, I took it on my iPad and I didn't have a flash or enough lighting.  I promise to post more, some day, of Tarkin on twitter.
On To The Poll!

1.  Lip Of The Day? - Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose.  My lips are terribly chapped from the cold weather and I just need to make sure they stay moisturized.

2.  Do you have any pets?  What are their names? - Yes. Floyd - Dog, Cujo and Tarkin - Cats.  I used to have a cat named Trauma as well, but he passed away a long time ago.  He was MY cat, but totally gay for Mr. Sith.

3. Did you make any beauty resolutions this year? - I normally don't make any resolutions, beauty or otherwise.  I try to just do what I need to do when I'm motivated to do it.  However, I would like to get my skin in order. It's terribly broken out right now and that's because of hormones and other issues.

4.  Can you believe that the Death Star was built with a fatal flaw of having a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. that leads directly to the reactor system? - You don't really need to answer that. I think we all know how silly that is and how sad it is that Grand Moff Tarkin overlooked that design flaw.

5. What kind of things would you like to see more of this year on The Pink Sith Blog? - I'm hoping to have a sort of schedule to have eyeshadow or Lipsticks on Mondays through Tuesdays, Hair Care or  Body Care on Wednesdays, the Thursday Poll and then Foundations, Skin Care or Press Releases on Fridays.  But I'm open to suggestions on what kinds of products you would like to read about.

P.S. Tarkin is a rescue cat. if you are in the NOVA area and are interested in rescuing one of his brothers or his mom e-mail me for more info.

  1. 1. Lip Of The Day? - Revlon lip butter in Candy Apple because a sheer red is always the solution

    2. Do you have any pets? No, but I have a pond with 29 goldfish in it, does that count?

    3. Did you make any beauty resolutions this year? - Try and not buy another million eyeshadows?

    4. Can you believe that the Death Star was built with a fatal flaw of having a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. that leads directly to the reactor system? - Hey, nobody's perfect, even the best designers have a weak point.

    5. What kind of things would you like to see more of this year on The Pink Sith Blog? - mmmh will you still be bitchin about stuff we cannot get?

    1. Yes. I will still do a Stuff You can't Have series. I kind of faltered with the Highlighters You Cant Have series and never finished it. Even thought I do have the highlighters to complete it. I think it will be a general "Things You Can't Have" series. Sound good?

  2. 1. Lip Of The Day? - Same as every day: Weleda Everon lip balm. It is the best (especially since Burt's Bees changed their lip balm formula a few years ago and now it makes my lips and surrounding skin break out in a weird rash). Very smooth, lasts a long time in the tube AND on my lips, and has a very mild and inoffensive scent.

    2. Do you have any pets? - Yep - my kibben, zoe. <3

    3. Did you make any beauty resolutions this year? - No, but a few years ago I resolved to floss every single day, and I have actually stuck with that one.

    4. Can you believe that the Death Star was built with a fatal flaw of having a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. that leads directly to the reactor system? - Yeah, because they probably didn't think that anyone was ever actually going to USE the thing.

    5. What kind of things would you like to see more of this year on The Pink Sith Blog? - what about perfume, perhaps? I am a perfume fanatic (I will take any and all samples off your hands!). I also recommend Fragrantica.com if you're looking for an excellent comprehensive fragrance discussion/review site.

  3. Lip of the day- Aquaphor. I also have terribly chapped lips.

Do you have any pets?- I have a Corn snake named Candy (she's pink). My 17 year old kitty passed away recently :(

Did you make any beauty resolutions this year?- January is going to be a No Buy month for make-up and nail polish. After that, all bets are off.

    4. Yes, I can believe this because every great hero/villain/magical item has a fatal flaw

I like the current mix of make-up, skin care, etc. on the blog! Keep it up!

Also, I LOVE Tarkin! He is adorable!! I hope someone adopts his mom and brothers!

  4. 1) kiss my face cranberry orange lip balm. its been crazy cold (like below ten) the last two days and my lips do not like it. plus I don't have anywhere special to be today.

    2) A Jack Russell Terrier named Charlie, a big orange kitty named Wilbur (because he was the runt of the litter), and a tabby named Boots. We also have a mostly feral cat who lives outside and sort of floats between my house and my fiance's aunt and uncles house up the road who is black and fluffy and named Freddy. For anyone who thinks its awful that he lives outside it is his choice. I've tried to make him our cat and he won't stay inside.

    3) Find something that really helps my acne, and stop picking at my acne! I also want to start experimenting a little more and being a little more adventurous with make-up (I currently wear almost none unless its a special occasion).

    4) Shocking!

    5) I don't think I have any suggestions. I love the mix of products you have on your blog. I'm excited for a couple things you have mentioned that you are currently testing (I can't wait to see what you think of the DermOrganic products).

Props for getting a rescue kitty. My cat Wilbur was also a rescue. I used to work at a vets office and someone brought in four kittens who we figured were about a week old that someone found in a bag somewhere. No one wanted to deal with it so my mom took them home (I was still living at home at the time) and me, my mom, my dad, and my little sister fed them kitten milk with syringes. My parents still have two of them and I took wilbur. We gave one of them to one of my sisters friends.

  5. 1. Lip Of The Day? - Test driving NARS Luster. Seeks okay so far but haven't taken a good look at it.

    2. Do you have any pets? What are their names? - No, unless you count our gaggle of beloved stuffed animals - we love them as if they were real! They're mostly Uglydolls.

    3. Did you make any beauty resolutions this year? - Nope, I don't do resolutions.

    4. Can you believe that the Death Star was built with a fatal flaw of having a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. that leads directly to the reactor system? - I know, it's crazy. I didn't think about it though until it got made fun of in the Family Guy Star Wars spoof episode.

    5. What kind of things would you like to see more of this year on The Pink Sith Blog? - I like the idea of a schedule, but be warned as it can make you feel a little trapped. I think the blog is great as is, content-wise!

  6. 1. Lip Of The Day? - Right now it's the fuchsia one of the new Covergirl gloss stick things. After lunch I am planning on switching to Guerlain Shine Automatique in Flirt (from the Spring collection) though :).

    2. Do you have any pets? What are their names? - Yeah, I have a Pug named Keoni :)

    3. Did you make any beauty resolutions this year? - Kinda...it's something I want to do but it not a hard rule. I'd like to buy less eyeshadow singles and more quads/quints and maybe duos...I'd also like to show my Japanese makeup more love and buy more of it as well.

    4. Can you believe that the Death Star was built with a fatal flaw of having a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. that leads directly to the reactor system? - Shit happens I guess! :)

    5. What kind of things would you like to see more of this year on The Pink Sith Blog? - I dunno, so far so good so just keep it up I guess?

Ps. You'd be proud, my son is really getting into Star Wars right now. Over the holiday (but on one day) he watched all 3 of the originals and on another day he watched 2 of the prequels (he would have watched all 3 but that was all I could handle...).

I think he is a Sith fan too btw, he seems to really like Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers the best (heh that kind of sounds like a band name).

  7. 1. Lip Of The Day? - I don't wear that icky stuff.

    2. Do you have any pets? What are their names? - Yes. Dog named Ally-girl. She's 14 1/2 and showing scary signs that we'll lose her soon. I'm making sure she's happy and not in pain. Cat - Moka (I didn't name her) a Japanese tri-color cat. Which is sort of like a calico, but Japanese cats have a shorter body and shorter tail. She's 17 1/2. She's kind of my MIL's cat now...but we live there too now so she's all of ours. We've pretty much decided to be pet free for a couple years after these two are gone.

    3. Did you make any beauty resolutions this year? - I haven't. I often don't. Resolutions are made to be broken. I just try to do what I need to do when I need to do it.

    4. Can you believe that the Death Star was built with a fatal flaw of having a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. that leads directly to the reactor system? - No more than I can believe that Darth Vader's suit would look like some 1970's RadioShack control panel. LOL.

    5. What kind of things would you like to see more of this year on The Pink Sith Blog? - I love your skin care posts.

  8. answering bc Pink asked so nicely :P

    1. Lip of the day? Upper? Lower? idk i only wore a lip product once in the last six months

    2. Pets? One black cat. Krycek. lesson learned, never name your adopted feral stray after a russian double agent who seems friendly one minute and homicidal the next.

    3. Beauty resolutions? Nope. And no PinkSith that does NOT mean you should put xanax in mymilkshake and then try to put makeup on me...

    4. Fatal Flaw - yes and ALL of you are thinking of this the wrong way. The one thing every tyrannical dictator needs is to know that is he gets overthrown, he has a way to destroy his successor and deprive them of maintaining ownership of that which he values most. The flaw was part of a top-secret contingency plan that others took advantage of.

    5. What would I like to see more of on this blog? idk, i probably have no business being in here. i would maybe like to see the labels area restructured or shortened, bc in my display it takes forever to load and literally half the page is the bottom of the labels list.

  9. 1, Lip of the day - mostly Jurlique Love Balm - lips are chapped and unhappy and feel gluey and wrong no matter what I put on them. I think I need to scrub them w/ oil and sugar.

    2. Pets? 4 chickens - the black one, the brownish one that lays green eggs, and the two red ones we can't tell apart. One of the chickens is always named "Fireball" and "Dragon fire" but it rotates depending on which one is standing closest to us. Two Beta fish - no names. 3 cats: Miss Hollyhocks Golightly Whitesocks, King Kamehameha, and Macy (named by someone else which is why she has such a short inadequate name).

    3. Beauty resolutions: find a powder I like and find someone that keeps my skin from being so dry during the day. Maybe figure out how to make my dark circles less dark - like, you know, get adequate sleep.

    4. Ok, yes - what a design flaw that is. It seems plausible when I was 7 or 8 and the movie came out - but completely unacceptable now. Isn't Harrison Ford hot? I totally didn't apprecaite that when I was a kid. Watched Star Wars this weekend and was like yum-yum.

    5. I like the blog - like seeing all the color swatches and stuff. Maybe more skin care type things like cleansers or moisturizers.

  10. Yay for new kitty! He's adorable :) I've always had a weakness for grey kitties. 1. Alba lip balm in Coconut Cream. It was another makeup-free day. 2. (My phone won't tab at the moment). Two cats-- a Maine Coon named Sally, aka Soft Sal, Frivolous Sal, My Pal Sal, et al., and a tuxedo named Beau, aka Baby Beau, Stinky Little Boy, et.al. Krycek, by the way, is a GREAT cat name. So is Tarkin. My DH is entertained by this post and its responses. 3. Wear makeup more, I suppose...but that would require getting up earlier, or something. My coworkers would probably appreciate it. 4. I've got nothing. 5. Keep doing what you're doing :) I know I only comment on the polls, but you're a highly entrtaining read whatever you're writing about, and whether or not I'm interested in the actual product, I'll still read. :)

  11. Your cat is ADORABLE. I have 2 at home, and I feed about 40 on the street. I wish I could save them all.

  12. I'm so happy to hear you adopted Tarkin! And you slept in the guest room for 4 nights? What devotion. What a good fur mom you are!

I have 5 cats, having just lost my best friend, Sophie, an orange target-like cat. She was 16. I still miss her like hell. That leaves: her litter mate, Walter, Zoe, a black, diabetic, asthmatic cat (poor thing), who needs meds every day (insulin, by injection!), Isis, a white/orange cat who found us outside the condo. She is the Alpha female. Two more, hold on. Taz, a big brown, orange, grey Maine Coon, who is the Alpha male. And his litter mate, Cleo, who is part Maine Coon, and very, very sweet. She is my co-dependent child now that Sophie is gone.

Tarkin is a sweetie. Just beautiful, and I'm sure his mom and brothers will also be rescued. Enjoy him; he'll definitely enjoy you!

Now I'm too tired to answer the rest of the questions.
