Makeup Wars - Favorite Spring Beauty Trend

Makeup Wars Spring Trend

For this makeup war we are showing off our favorite Spring beauty trends!

I recently read about a new color theory developed by the Institute for Color Knowledge Yield.  They show how contrasting colors really make the a statement.  For example. Red's Contrasting color is Green, Blue is Orange and Yellow is Purple.  Apply that to fashion and, if done correctly, you can have some outstanding patterns and prints.  Now that the institute recently enlisted the help of the Panatone Universal Kaleidoscopic Endowment to incorporate this color theory into the beauty world.  They took an interesting approach to this by letting determining hair color dictate the colors for makeup.  Redheads wear Green, Brunettes can go Blue or Orange, Blondes go Purple.

I totally see how this would work Against my red hair greens really stand out. It can be quite striking sometimes.  That's why I was so excited that this year's color of Spring is the Pantone Emerald. So for this Makeup War I have incorporated the color theory in a beauty trend.

Viola.
Green as far as the eye can see.

While I had no problem finding eyeliners and eyeshadows in the color family I did have a more difficult time finding blush and lip colors that were green.  I finally decided to use some lose pigment as blush and broke down and picked up an OCC Lip Tar for the lip product.

So using the following products I have this look

AFD Makeup Wars

Barr M Shadow #14, (sample sent for consideration) Barry M Glitter Dust #21 (Sample sent for consideration) , Too Faced Eyeshadow Single in Jealousy, OCC Lip Tars in Feathered (white) Botanical (green) and Power Plant (pearl.light green)

Here are the swatches from those products

Here is the lip look  created

Here is the overall look I created.

Yes. my face is photoshopped excessively in the surface blur, but the shadow, blush and lips are real!  Happy April Fools!

See how the green really makes my red hair just pop!  I love it.  Obviously as this trend catches on more products will be available, so it will be easier to find suitable blush and lip products. I hear Channel will be one of the first to come out with green, blue and purple blushes!  Thanks to I.C.K.Y. and P.U.K.E. for teaming up together to make this incredibly innovative beauty look!

So what do you all think?  Will this be incorporated into your Spring Beauty Routine?
Check out these awesome other Spring Beauty Trends too! You're in for a treat!
