Ten Bronzers Under $10

10 Bronzers under $10

This little post is an add on to my Top 10 Tuesday's Post about the 10 Most Expensive Bronzers. I felt it cruel to leave you wanting for a $138 bronzer when there are plenty of bronzers out there for UNDER $10!  I selected 10 (12, really) bronzers that are priced under $10 and that have some decent ratings. I have not personally tried all of them, but they are all from brands I know and respect.  If you are new to bronzers and want to try one out before taking the $30+ plunge on one from NARS or Lancome, this might be just the list you are looking for!

The baked bronzer has versatility. It can be used dry or wet. Applying the bronzer with a damp sponge or brush will create an almost metallic sheen. This would be great for evening, but applying with a dry brush for the day might be best.

This bronzer can be used as a blush or bronzer. It's on the shimmery side so it adds that extra depth to your overall look

NYX Cosmetics Matte Body Bronzer in Light $8.99
This matte bronzer delivers all the color without the shimmer for a natural looking hint of color. Best yet, it can be used all over the body to enhance your existing tan or add a bit more color to your collarbones, chest and neck.

Milani TanTastic Face & Body Baked Bronzer, Fantastic in Bronze $8.49
This is one of two options from Milani. A great brand offering cosmetics at low prices without sacrificing quality.  This is the "more expensive" of the two options you have.  This little baked looking bronzer provides a hint of color and looks incredibly natural.

Another baked bronzer from a brand often overlooked by those in search of unique and bold color cosmetics. While Black Radiance is a line aimed at African American women, there are plenty of blush, lipstick, eyeshadow and bronzer options for everyone.

Your second option from Milani Cosmetics. This is dubbed Tan-In-A-Pan and has the matte finish for use all over the body.

Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze $5.49
The reviews on this bronzer are mixed, but I like the fact that it is matte and can be used allover the body.  Of course the price is pretty awesome too!

Essence is fast becoming my go-to low cost makeup brand. The matte bronzer only makes me more enamoured with this brand. The fact that they offer three different options of color and the on line reviews are all positive...well that just seals the deal!

Cover Girl Cheekers Bronzer in Copper Radiance $4.99
While you can't tell from the image, this bronzer does have shimmer. The small size makes it perfect for carrying in your purse for an instant boost of sun kissed radiance or to touch up during the day.

The first of your Wet n Wild bronzers, this really is a bronzey illuminator. The multiple color stripes allow for variety in color application and the heavy frosty finish makes this ideal for an evening out.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Collection Bronzer SPF 15 in Reserve Your Cabana $3.99
The second selection in your Wet n Wild category. This was the lightest shade offered for this large bronzer. Claiming to, "Add a golden glow and a touch of luminosity to any complexion for a radiant, sun-kissed look." This bronzer also offers a SPF protection of 15!

e.l.f. Studio Bronzer in Warm  $3.00
This is the least expensive bronzer on my list. e.l.f. Cosmetics does have some good products. I like the look of this bronzer because it allows for a little versatility in color.  Also the on line reviews seems to say this is a great value for the money.

What say you? If any of you have tried any of these bronzers, leaving your opinion (good or bad) in the comments section is encouraged!  Would you like to share some other inexpensive but high quality bronzers with us?  Let us know in the comments section.

  1. I have tried the Rimmel one- it's pretty nice- and the WnW Reserve Your Cabana- that one is very subtle shimmer and i like to use it as a highlight/ blurs undereye. I think I tried the e.l.f. one ages ago- I prefer their blush and bronzer duo. I'm on my second one.

Hard Candy also makes some bronzers in the $6 range. They are very shimmery- so more of a highlight/glow product- but the lightest one looks awesome on me and doubles as a shadow/blending shade.

    1. I would buy Hard Candy makeup if they sold it anywhere else than WalMart. I refuse to shop there. :-( Even good makeup lemmings can't make me break that little ban.

    1. Oh really? Where do you live? (Europe?) I would think that this bronzer is a staple product. Maybe not.

  4. I have the WnW Reserve Your Cabana, and I love it! However, I use it as a cheek highlight, and not all-over. I decided to give it a try after reading it is a cheaper alternative to NARS Nico, and it does come pretty close, although a bit "frostier". As a die-hard NARS fan, I use both equally. I have larger pores, and it doesn't emphasize them. It also doesn't look "greasy", but I have to disclose I have drier skin. I also picked up Ticket to Brazil, which is quite similar to NARS Laguna.

I haven't tried the e.l.f. Warm, yet, but I have Golden, which is a fabulous highlighter. I also have the blushgbronzer duo that's said to be a "dupe" for NARS Orgasm/Laguna; it isn't. However, in some ways it's even better, although the bronzer is closer to Casino.

As for Milani, the Mosaic Bronzer is amazing, and not "orange" at all; it may be DCd, but I'm sure the quality is still the same.

N.Y.C. Colors is said to be great, as well, but I've only tried the regular powders & blush, which I do like (the Mosaic Highlight Powder is *amazing* as a setting powder, and has no shimmer, but just imparts a natural radiance).

Black Radiance Baked Bronzer in Blackberry makes for an awesome contour product, even on fair skintones. It's my "go-to", and I'm around NARS Deauville, for reference. It's not the most long-lasting product, and I usually do have to touch-up mid-day, but it fades evenly, and I usually need to touch-up most face products, anyway.

I do want to add LORAC Tantalizer duo as one to try. While the "full-size" is $36 USD, there is a smaller one available for $12 (a bit more than $10), but it is literally 1/2 the price for 1/3 the cost. I just picked it up at ULTA a few weeks ago on a whim, and I love it.

I typically use bronzers as contours, so I've been on a bronzer kick lately, trying to find the *perfect* one, and so far, I'm really loving the LORAC duo, followed closely by the aforementioned WnW products.

I keep picking up the Essence bronzer every time I go to Walgreen's, but I haven't yet committed. I'm new to the brand, and what I've tried has been nothing less than stellar, especially the Long Wearing Eyeliner pencil, which stays on my waterline like no other, even after walking 2 miles, in the heat. I know this is a bronzer post, but I love this liner so much, I feel compelled to sing its praises any chance I get!

  6. That Wet n Wild Mega Glow scares me! But i'd give the elf a try.

My favorite bronzer this year has been Tarte Amazonian Clay

  7. Thank you for this list! Bronzers are always one of those things at the drugstore (for me anyway) that I find hard to find without swatching. Not as hard as foundation, but it's up there.

Have you tried NYC's Smooth Skin Bronzing Powder in Sunny? It's $3 at CVS and it's my favorite! The color is perfect for someone pale, but unfortunately I don't think this particular NYC line comes in darker colors (though they do make other bronzers in darker colors I believe). Anyway, the next time you're looking for a steal, I recommend checking it out! My only complaint is that the packaging is a little cheap and I sometimes have a problem with getting the container to snap shut, but otherwise I adore the product inside!

  10. I don't have that shade of the elf bronzer, but it's a good impossible to overdo type formula. The quad's just big enough to where you can use each section on its own, too.

My favorite DS bronzers are Physicians Formula's, but those are just a hair above your cut-off, as they're usually $12-14, but often on sale.

    1. I like that feedback about the elf bronzer. Good to know about the pigmentation and size. I think some of the physicians Formula bronzers are very good. Sadly they are usually a dollar or two over my $10 list...but they come in such pretty shapes and designs it's hard to resist.

  11. I prefer to use a matte bronzer so the Essence would be my choice here on price, however the NYX has a good reputation and it is still under $10.
