Winter Care Body Wash With NutriumMoisture - Review

Want to find out what it is like where I live?  Here we go.....
Imagine yourself in the suburbs of Washington, DC. It is cool, around 40 F / 7 C degrees.  The air is dry, unusually so for this mildly humid climate.  The dryness lingers all Winter long. It mocks you by cracking your lips, and making your skin feel tight and itchy. The soles of your feet become hard and cracked from the moisture wicking socks in your boots. There are strange creatures zipping along in SUVs of all colors, wearing Yoga Pants and sporting high end hand bags and jewelery. They do a sort of dance around a parking lot of Target in their SUVs. Each one vying for the closest spot to the store and hoping to score the enviable "Expectant Mother/Mother with Small Children" designated parking space.  As they enter the store, their $400  haircut and highlights are in stark contrast to the fluorescent overhead lights of the local Target.  These creatures roam the store in packs.  Their Nike cross trainers barely making a sound as they stalk their prey of diapers, inexpensive rompers for their offspring and huge boxes of detergent.   You enter the store and avoid eye contact with the gang of yoga pant clad moms with their off road strollers and their perfectly appointed bundles of joy sitting snug in their rolling thrones.  That's when you calmly and quickly may your way to the personal care aisles and seek out a sign from above that says "Body Wash/Soap".  You dodge one of the more aggressive of the pack of Lululemon devotees and find yourself in an aisle where every body wash is competing for your attention.  That's when you reach for your savior.  As if in slow motion, the pack freezes like deer in headlights and watches as your smooth creamy skinned hand reaches out from under your no name wool coat and clutches the one thing that can make even snooty, perfectly highlighted haired yoga pants wearing mommies squeal with delight. You reach for Dove Winter Care Body Wash!

It is then, when you are descended upon by the pack. They are asking questions about your selection.  As if it was a reflex, you answer each and every question.

"What is that?"

"Is it new?"
Well, not really. It's limited edition. It can be found on shelves every Winter. Usually, January through March.

"Is your skin dry?"
Is my skin dry?  Does a bear sh....err..Um.  Well let's just say that dry doesn't even begin to cover it.  It's parched, thirsty for moisture, dare I say dehydrated?  Yes. I do so dare! The skin on my body (unlike my oily face) craves moisture most of the year, but in the Winter, it's much more ravenous for moisture.  As soon as I step out of the shower I can feel my skin begin to get tight and flaky.  From the soles of my feet to the tip of my fingers my skin is screaming for moisture.  I used to sate my skin by applying gallons and gallons of lotions and creams all over my body. While I may have finally found some lotion and cream brands that work for me, they aren't the most inexpensive brands.  In fact, they are down right expensive. I hate having to use more lotion in the winter because my skin drinks up the lotions and creams like a thirsty camel.

"Does it work?"
Absolutely.  In fact, with repeated use, I found that I needed less of my expensive body lotions and creams because Dove Winter Care body wash helped replenish essential nutrients and nourished my skin deep down.

"What is it like?"
Dove Winter Care body wash looks and feels like lotion, when compared to other body washes.  However, unlike most body washes, Dove Winter Care body wash has an amazing lather. A little goes a long way, but why use just a little when you can cover your body from the soles of your feet to the top of your neck in rich, cushiony, creamy bubbles? You no longer have to compromise rich lather or moisturized skin.  You get both!

"Is it better than the original Dove Body Wash?
It's formulated differently.   In addition to Dove's NutriumMoisture technology, the Dove Winter Care body wash adds in Glycinate, an ingredient primarily used in high-end facial products.  Combine that with the brand’s NutriumMoisture technology and you get Dove's mildest yest most moisturizing formula ever!

"How does it compare with other body washes?"
Well actually it puts other body washes to shame.  Check out this video from Dove showing how it compares.
*whips out phone while inquisitive cross training adorned women watch in awe*

"How did you hear about this body wash?"
Well actually It was sent to me for review, but I liked it so much I picked up an extra one for myself.  You see my husband is super weird about body washes. He is always saying that certain soaps leave this strange film on his skin.  But when he used the Dove Winter Care body wash, he said he didn't notice any film left over and the scent, while flowery, isn't overpowering.  Plus he has stopped sneaking as much of my expensive hand cream.

It is then that you realize these comfy pant wearing super moms know you exist and have command of language to communicate with others not of their kind.  All of a sudden the expressions on their faces, which you once thought were snarls and darting eyes, are merely smiles and eager looks to make a connection with an adult that doesn't talk about diapers or PBS Kids shows.   They seem tame, almost "friendly".  It is then that you begin to realize that these cotton/spandex clad people are not some strange new species, but simply women that want soft, moisturized skin, just like you.

You can find Dove Winter Care Body Wash in  most stores like Target, CVS, Walgreens, Drugstore.com, Soap.com and Wal-Mart.  It retails for around $6 USD for a hefty 24 oz bottle.  But unlike the regular Dove body wash, the Dove Winter Care will only be on shelves until March, so you might want to get your own bottle sooner than later.  And be nice to the yoga pant moms, they are people too!

Beauty Spotlight - Desert Island Beauty

The Beauty Spotlight Team’s current assignment is to list twelve items you would like to have if you were stranded on a desert island until help arrives. There is a stipulation that items like sunscreen and lip balm will not be on the list because those are simply a must have and we are imagining that there is a hidden cache of those type of products already on the island.  As beauty bloggers we always want to look out best...but to be honest. If I'm on a deserted island the last thing I'll think about it makeup. This is an opportunity to focus on taking care of my skin!  That's why I have decided to focus mainly on skin care and then reserve just a few makeup items to apply when I'm rescued.  I mean, you never know who might rescue you. It could be Chris Hemsworth for all I know.  I wouldn't want to look like a bedraggled sea witch if he came to the rescue.  So let's take a look at the skin pampering I'll be using during my island exile.

First and foremost I want clean skin.  That means being able to effectively wash off the sunscreen at the end of the day. That's why I selected three different cleansers:

1) Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil - This oil cleanser will remove all water proof sunscreen and anything else, for that matter. It's my go-to Oil cleanser

2) Bioderma - Crealine H2O - Ultra-Mild Non-Rinse Face and Eyes Cleanser - This is a Make-up remover and cleansing micellar water.  It has no perfume is non detergent and non foaming. It is the perfect solution to get rid of dirt and grime without upsetting the pH of your skin! I use this soothing solution every morning and evening.

3) Freeze 24/7 Skin Glace Daily Detoxifying Cleanser and Mask - this cleanser is a workhorse. It cleans like a regular cleanser, it can be used as a mask to brighten and refine AND you can use it as a shaving cream!  What more could you ask for?

Then I'll need to moisturize because the salty sea and sun will not be kind to my skin :

4) Stages of Beauty Elegance Treatment Cream - This moisturizing cream is perfect for my sensitive skin. It calms my skin and plumps up fine lines.  Plus it has no retinoids which would cause me undo harm whilst sitting in the sun!  So yay for that!

5) Chanel Sublimage La Creme Yeux - This eye cream is the ultimate luxury.  It's costly, but it works.  My eye area has never looked more youthful...OK. it looked more youthful when I was younger, but it still looks awesome when I use this creme!

6) Kiehl's Creme de Corps Body Lotion - My favorite body moisturizer. No heavy perfumes, no greasy feel and the moisturization lasts a long time. I could bathe in this stuff. I hope the island has a vat of it handy!

I'll also need to "maintain" because I don't want to be a pimply, hairy beast when I'm rescued:

7) Mario Badescu Drying Lotion -  A must have for those little emergencies. You know. Pimples that pop up. I dab a bit of this on a newly formed pimple at night, and when I wake up in the morning it's gone!  It's a miracle!

8) Gillette Venus Embrace Razor - I'm not picky when it comes to razors. Really I'm not, but I figure why not get one that doesn't nic me or cause a lot of razor burn.  Plus I have been using the same handle for a few years now and all I need are those disposable cartridges.

9) Tweezerman Stainless Steel Slant Tweezer - Because I would have a unibrow if i didn't tweeze. 'Nuff said.

Now. WHEN I am rescued. I do not plan to go all Tom Hanks in Cast Away and construct a raft and stuff. I also do not plan to befriend a bloody volleyball and call him Wilson.  I do plan on being rescued and I do plan on looking really amazing. After all I have survived on a diet of tropical fruits and tubers, Seafood and fresh water. I will have a slammin' body for all that great non fatty, unprocessed, fresh food. I better make sure I don't look like Tom Hanks when my knight in shining armor comes to pick me up.  Therefore I will have three essentials with me.  My skin will already be perfection because I have been treating it well for all these months and then all I will need is a little mascara and lipstick and I'll be good to go!

10) Estée Lauder 'Pure Color Stay On' Shadow Paint in Pink Zinc - This makes a great base shadow and it can be used as a primer.  In addition, a little touch above the cheeks and eyebrows and you have highlighter to boot! WIN!

11) Josie Maran GoGo Instant Natural Volume Mascara - Wonderful Mascara, Doesn't flake or smudge and it makes mt lashes look huge!  I'll want to be able to bat my lashes at my rescuer!

12) Besame Crimson Cream Rouge - This multi-purpose baby will serve as my blush and lip color. It's a perfect pink-y red and will make me look less like a piece of driftwood, should someone come calling!

What about my hair?
Well I think this little stay on this desert island is a perfect time to shave my head and start growing my hair out again. No dyes, no split ends, just my natural hair.  Plus shaving my head may win me a golden globe or an oscar. Look what happened to Anne Hathaway when she shaved her head!

DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque - Review

It's no secret I'm not a natural red head. I was born with red hair, but by the age of 3, my hair had turned blond,  and all the red was gone.  I have colored my hair red for about the last year, and I can safely say that red hair coloring does not last.  I have had a professional salon color my hair and I have used box hair color from the drug store...but each time my red hair faded, and I ended up with this freakish light orange frizzy mess.  Oh did I mention that my hair is also very fine and easily prone top breakage?  Yeah. Not the ideal hair for coloring or anything for that matter.  I have tried countless items to get my hair in shape. Some of them work quite well, but I have to sacrifice my hair color because of sulfates and other harsh chemicals that strip the color from my hair.  Well I finally found a product that will keep my fine breakage prone hair in condition AND keep the red color from fading at the same time.  What is this miracle product?

DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque! DermOrganic Hair Repair Masque has rice amino acids that mimic the keratin structure of human hair. This mask can seals the cuticle, neutralize pH, and restores the health to damaged hair. Mind you, nothing can undo a spit end except scissors, but this mask can make your hair stronger and less prone to breakage with regular use.

First let's talk about breakage, dullness and blah hair (colored or not).  I know some of you have tried deep conditioners only to find your hair limp and lifeless after a month of use.  I have had the same issue.  Look at my hair after a brand new coloring with a lot of buildup from other silicone and wax laden conditioners. Bleh!

Fortunately this is not the case with the DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque.  Why?  Because it is made without silicone, propylene glycol or glycerin.  This way you could use this every time you wash your hair without fear of buildup.  Plus it won't over-proteinize your hair, which can cause further damage and breakage.

image from http://www.pgbeautygroomingscience.com/hair-damage.php

This is literally "...an explosion of the cortex of the hair strand at a single point on the hair. It looks like a tiny white bead on the hair, and can lead to hair breakage. It is a classic sign of cosmetic and chemical over-treatment of the hair." according to P&G Beauty & Grooming on hair damage.

According to Precious Curls Blog, "When the hair has too much protein, it can feel very dry, rough, crunchy, and brittle. It can also break off very easily. The hair does not have enough elasticity, so it breaks with the slightest pull."  She goes on to say, "Hair that is shifted too far on the protein side will break easier, both wet and dry, because it lacks elasticity. Elasticity is what allows us to style, stretch, and manipulate our hair without breakage. Hair that breaks with very little tension or stretching is a sign of an overabundance of protein, and a deficiency of moisture. Too much structure makes the hair rigid, and decreases its elasticity."  And that's what DermOrganic means by over-proteinized hair.  The Precious Curls Blog adds, "It is much easier to overload your hair with protein and cause breakage, than to overload your hair with moisture and cause breakage. That is why if you are not sure what is causing your hair breakage, you should always try giving it moisture first."

Moisture First!  The fibers in your hair are made up of amino acids. Your hair's moisture is primarily derived from lipids. The DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque contains a blend of rice amino-acids inside a lipid-based emulsification system. Therefore, instead of coating the hair, DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque works by depositing amino acids to strengthen and smooth each individual hair from the inside out while adding real, natural moisture. Basically, it maintains a healthy balance between moisture and protein to keep your hair in optimal health.
Now let's talk about how the DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque works to keep your color brighter longer!  The gentle mask seals the cuticle which, keeps the color from leaching out of our hair. When you color your hair, you disrupt the cuticle and make it all fuzzy, a.k.a. damaged (see above).  But by using the DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque to seal your cuticle after rinsing the color out of your hair right after you finish coloring it, you are able to "hold" that color in.  Subsequent washings you will also want to use this masque to keep the cuticle sealed, especially if you heat style your hair.  I colored my hair three weeks ago, and it is still pretty much the same color I had when I first colored it because of a combination of items I have used on my hair. One of which being the  DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque! Before I started using this hair masque my hair color would be significantly faded after three weeks of washing. Basically I'm saying. THIS STUFF ROCKS!

10 Reasons why the DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque is so awesometastic:
  1. It helps keep hair from becoming damaged and can sometimes help repair damaged hair.
  2. It smoothes and softens your hair.
  3. It strengthens and texturizes your hair.
  4. It makes your hair more manageable.
  5. It fortifies and improves the elasticity of your hair.
  6. It is enriched with Omega-6, Antioxidants, Rice Keratin Amino Acids and Essential Lipids which are similar to the structure of naturally healthy hair, which in turn means your hair will want to join the party and be healthy too!
  7. It is Sulfate-Free, Gluten-Free, Paraben-Free,  and Propylene Glycol-Free.  It also contains no Sodium Chloride, Salt, MEA, DEA or Dyes (Sodium Chloride and Salt can actually "undo" your Brazilian Keratin Treatment if you have one).
  8. It is pH Balanced 4.5-5.5 which is ideal for the natural pH of your hair.
  9. It has natural Argan Oil of Morocco.
  10. It's cruelty free and Vegan.
Do you NEED this?  YES! If you have damaged hair, color or perm your hair, have over-proteinized hair or just want an awesome hair masque.  You can purchase the DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque from ULTA for $16 USD or you can look up specific distributors across the entire world on the DermOrganic website.

So what say you? Are you in need of a conditioning masque?  What are some of your favorite hair treatments?

Thursday Poll

I clean out the cat's litter box every day. And each and every day BOTH cats sit there and watch me clean it. It's like they get some sort of sick pleasure form watching me clean out the litter box. I can just hear them thinking:
"Oh excellent! The poop cleaning show is on!"
"Oh yeah baby, scoop my poop.  Yeah. That's it. That's how I like it."
"Oooo shake that litter scoop and separate out the loose litter from the clumps. Shake it!"
"That's right, put my poop in the toilet and the clumps in a plastic bag. Ooooh babay!"
And then once it is clean and I have added fresh litter one of them immediately jumps in to do his business.  It's like:
"That clean litter looks so enticing.  I have the sudden urge to lay the stinkiest poop of the century while SHE is still in here.  First let me dig, dig, dig, then  Oooooohhhhhhyyyyeeeeaaahhh!"
*POOP*
Then I'm gasping for clean air while I get the dust pan to clean up the litter on the floor, which despite having some fancy schmancy littter box and a mat to "capture" the loose litter, it still gets everywhere.  I imagine both cats think:
"Is it Caturday?"
"What's that?"
"It's that celebration where you kick loose cat litter all over the bathroom and the first one to get it outside the bathroom wins."
"Sweet!  Let's do it!"
So then I get the vacuum out and start it up.  That's when the terror strikes them:
"OH MY GAWD! WHAT IS THAT EVIL NOISE?"
"I THINK IT MUST BE THE CAT-RAPTURE! WERE ALL DOOMED"
"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! THERE'S NO TIME TO BURY POOP NOW, JUST GO!"
That's when the scamper out of the bathroom like lightning and hide upstairs for about an hour.
Of course the dog hates the vacuum and thinks he needs to attack it, which only makes finishing vacuuming up more of a challenge.  While the dog barks and the cats leave a path a destruction in their wake as they escape to the upstairs, and my son yells for me to be quiet b/c he can't hear his "Super Why" TV show, is it really a shock that I look forward to going to work where I can get some peace and quiet?
On To The Poll!

1. Blush Of The Day? - Chanel Joues Contraste in Rose Inititale. A pink blush with warm undertones.

2.  What is your favorite Winter Activity? - Sitting on the couch, sipping hot chocolate with marshmallows and watching Mr. Sith shovel the driveway.

3.  Current beauty lemmings? (Things you want to buy) - I think I want to get an actual full size tube of Kate Somerville Exfolikate. (I have been living off of sample packets) Of course I'm happy to be talked out of it.

4.  What was the worst concert you went to (who and when)? - I think it was 7 years ago and it was David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar touring together. Mr. Sith won tickets from a Radio Station and I did not want to go. Never been a fan of Van Halen, and I certainly did NOT want to see just the singers of VH without Eddie freakin Van Halen. Know what I mean. Ugh it was THE worst. I hated all the songs, wanted to sit down the entire time and yeah, we left early.

5.  Recent beauty acquisition? Or if you are on a no-buy, how is it going so far? - Recent beauty acquisition was the Sephora Collection Outrageous Prisma Chrome Metallic Eyeshadow in Taupe #6

Sephora Collection Outrageous Prisma Chrome Metallic Eyeshadow in Taupe #6 - Review Pictures Swatches

image from sephora.com

It has been a while since I featured a single taupe eyeshadow for you all. I know I have shown you some taupes that are in palettes, but a single taupe hasn't been featured since October 1st, when I featured some individual shades from Stars Makeup Haven.  I apologize for my lack of taupiness.  This blog has over 1,425 posts, and only 148 of them include taupe.  And sure, that's slightly more than 10% taupe, it's not enough in my book. I am the taupe fanatic. I should post about taupe more often!  I have failed you all. And for that I am truly sorry.

I offer the latest Sephora Collection eyeshadow as an apology for my lack of taupness.  Today I bring you Sephora Collection Outrageous Prisma Chrome Metallic Eyeshadow in Taupe #6. Whew. That's a mouth full.  I'm not sure how "Outrageous" this shadow is. I mean it's genuinely nice and pretty looking, but "outrageous"?  I don't think so.  Or perhaps I'm jaded, and real "outrageous" things seem mundane to me.  Then there is "Prisma", which is Spanish for Prism.  OK. But why not prism in French? I mean Sephora Is a French company, oui?  Maybe not. They give the appearance that they are all about France and French things. But whatever.  Prisma is also a satellite project led by the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) and a 4 door sedan car from Chevrolet that is built in Brazil for the Latin American market. Chrome and Metallic together. Hello! It's the department of redundancy department calling. We get it, it's a shiny shadow.  Cool.  I'm surprised they didn't include Frost in the name too.  And Taupe...well.. this is actually taupe. An ideal taupe if you ask me....and you should be asking me since I'm so cuckoo for taupe.  But enough of me riffing on the silly name of this shadow. Let's all agree to call it Sephora Metallic Eyeshadow in Taupe.  OK?

Soooo, the Sephora Metallic Eyeshadow in Taupe is, in a word, Pretty darn good.  I mean, it's not super soft like a Chantecaille shadow (Well the way Chantecaille shadows USED to be), but it's incredibly pigmented like an Inglot shadow would be. It has a decent amount of staying power, providing you use an eyeshadow base underneath.  It is super shiny and almost reflective as a metallic shadow, like the old Bobbi Brown or Estee Lauder  metallic shadows are.  It's just a neat all around good shadow.

As you can see, the Sephora Metallic Eyeshadow in Taupe comes in a single case with a  clear top to easily identify the color you are reaching for.  The raised, quilted design on the shadow is a lovely touch. This shadow is a whopping 0.12 oz while the average for other shadows is literally almost half that size (around 0.07 oz) for more money.

Examples:

Too Faced $18  Size 0.06 oz Stila $18 Size: 0.09 oz
Urban Decay $18  Size 0.05 oz LORAC $19  Size 0.06 oz
Make Up For Ever $20  Size 0.08 oz
Illamasqua $20  Size 0.07 oz
Bobbi Brown $21  Size 0.08 oz
Laura Mercier $23  Size 0.09 oz
NARS $24  Size 0.07 oz
Dior $29  Size 0.07 oz
Edward Bess $30  Size 0.07 oz
*Sephora Collection Outrageous Prisma Chrome Metallic Eyeshadow $16 Size 0.12 oz
That's a lot of taupe for the money.

light application on left, heavy application on right

Oh the money. Yes. the Sephora Metallic Eyeshadow in Taupe retails for $16.  Not terrible actually.  When you think about the decent quality, strong pigmentation and the huge amount of eyeshadow you receive for that amount. (WARNING - the following "Taupe Orgy" picture may be NSFL (not safe for life))

click to enbiggen
I bet a lot of you are thinking that I probably already have a dupe of this shadow somewhere in my stash.  Well you'd be WRONG!  Look at the eyeshadow singles I compared it too in my currently available stash (I have a lot more, but this was handy when I was taking a picture, and I'm all about extending the least amount of effort to do anything.)  Compared to what look like possible dupes in the pan, end up being  nowhere close to the same when swatched.  I even compared it against the holy grail of taupes the Shu Uemura ME Silver 945, and it was quite different.  (By the way, the Addiction eyeshadow in Flashback is an almost exact dupe for Shu Uemura ME Silver 945 if you were wondering)

Not only was this shadow more pigmented, but it had a truer taupe color than all the other taupes combined. It was the taupest taupe taupe that ever tauped taupe. You know that thing when you say a word over and over again, and it starts to lose its meaning to you when you hear it?  Yeah. that just happened to me with the word "taupe" after typing that sentence above.

Do you NEED this?  Well Duh, does a fish need water? Does a hair metal band need perms? Does supreme executive power derive from a mandate from the masses, and not from some farcical aquatic ceremony?  YES!  You NEED this.  And you seriously need this because who knows how long Sephora will actually sell it.  They discontinue their "Sephora Collection" shadows so quickly one hardly has time to even hear about them, let alone purchase them. So run, do not walk to your nearest computer/store/etc. to get you one of these.  Oh and Sephora also has 7 other colors including a warmer taupe to choose from.

What say you?  Is this taupe enough for you?  A little surprised at how little product you get for the money from other brands?

Makeup Wars - Favorite Products We Purchase Over and Over Again

Makeup Wars is back with our Favorite Products We Purchase Over and Over Again. What we like to call "Staple Products"  I have well more than 10 Staple Products but I thought, in order to keep the list manageable I would limit myself to 10.  Now here's the thing. I may not have reviewed all of these products on The PinkSith Blog before.  I know what you're thinking.
"Elvira!  We need to know why these products are so awesome!"
and
"Why are you holding out on us?"
To which I will answer either
a) I haven't had an opportunity to blog about the product and I will soon.
b) I can't bring myself to blog about this item because, quite frankly all I have to say about them is that they are superawesomefantaistic and that would make for a very short post.
c) I don't want you to know about these items because then you too would love it and then it would always be out of sock when I want it.
d) all of the above.

So let's not pussyfoot around. Let us look at the top 10 Beauty Items I Purchase Over and Over Again!

1)  Boscia Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil - I reviewed this on the blog. While I have tested other cleansing oils since reviewing, once I run out I always go back to my stand by from Boscia. A reliable favorite!

2)  LORAC Behind The Scene Eye Primer - This eye primer was recently reviewed and it caused me to look long and hard at my relationships with eye primers. I tend to fall in love easily. but this time. This time it's different. This LORAC primer and I are in it for the long haul. I'm already on my second tube.

3)  Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Perversion - Reviewed back in 2011 and then in 2012 I reviewed a bunch more colors, but Perversion is one that I have purchased three times already. Considering I wear it almost every day, 365 a year, I'm doing pretty well. I haven't even opened the third one..It's just sitting in back up mode.

4)  Mattify Cosmetics Ultra Mattify Powder - This is a life changer for me.  I ordered a full size powder, which is ginormous, and I use it every day. This has made my oil slick of a face look NORMAL!  I can't tell you how much I love this powder!

 5)  Shiseido The Makeup Cotton Pads - I haven't reviewed this product but I talk about it in my Thursday polls from time to time.  This cotton is so soft it feels like it was spun from clouds. It's organic so I know there are no nasty chemicals that will transfer to my skin and it has made a huge difference in my sensitive skin.  Do I NEED it?  Probably not.  But there is no way in heck I'm going to stop using it. I always have at least one or two backup packs on hand.

6)  Dermorganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque - I have yet to review this baby, but I will. I promise.  Not only is it cruelty free, organic and all that awesome stuff, it has made a huge difference in how long my colored hair stays the color I intended.  It practically has "sealed in" the red color I use for my hair and I LOVE it!

7) Kat Von D for Sephora Lock It Tattoo Foundation - One of my more popular posts.  Those of us with acne and marked up skin will find a savior in this thick foundation.  I'm on my third bottle and I have two more back ups at home, just in case.  If for some reason Sephora decided to DC this I will go to every store I can and buy them out of my colors! I love this THAT much!

8) Le Metier de Beaute Classic Flawless Concealer - I have finished two tubes of this already and am on my third. This concealer matches my skin tone perfectly, lasts a long time and doesn't crease. What more could I ask for?

9) Lancome Dual Finish Powder Foundation - Is it fair to have two foundations on one list?  Of course it is. I love this powder and have been using it for over a DECADE!  I currently use it over BB cream on the weekends and sometimes over my Kat Von D for extra coverage at night.

10) Dermelect Makeover Ridge Filling Base Coat - Not only is this stuff so awesome that it makes my nails strong and long, it has a pretty pinky sheen that looks really natural when applied alone. I think this is my fourth bottle.  I adore it and I can tell a difference when I stop using it. But I never stop.
