Beauty Tips and Tricks for a Fresh Spring Look from Walgreens Beauty Products - Sponsored

I don't know about you, but this cold weather nicknamed the Polar Vortex has really got me wishing for the Spring thaw. You know, when you start to notice song birds singing and the purple crocus start to force their way up though the cold ground and snow.  That Spring thaw is when the air smells different, cleaner, new!  What better way to celebrate a fresh start than with some fresh makeup!

For my Spring look I had the pleasure of using a few delicious beauty items from Walgreens. I tried some new products and I found that changing up my daily makeup routine inspired me to approach a "less is more" attitude when it comes to beauty. Let me show you.

First I started with my hair.  I have a long and sordid history with my hair. we are in a love hate relationship. I hate it, it loves to be frizzy.  I started using the L'Oreal Curve It Hair Styling Cream and found that my frizzy hair loved it. Now all I need to do is apply a little leave in conditioner and then the L'Oreal Curve It Hair Styling Cream and scrunch. I can even let my hair AIR DRY! After a long cold winter and heat styling, any opportunity to stop the heat damage is an opportunity I will take! I add a little gel and scrunch away! Viola! My naturally wavy hair is happy and controlled and NOT FRIZZY! WIN!

Once I apply a light tinted moisturizer, some powder and blush, I focus on my eyes. For years I have been the liquid liner queen. but I have noticed in pictures my eyes are starting to look a bit off when the liner isn't applied as percisely as it shoudl be. I have also noticed in pictures how much more youthful and larger my eyes look when I apply a light wash of color and have dramatic lashes.  The L'Oreal Butterfly Mascara with its unique brush makes my lashes looks positively flawless and fluttery..but like a butterfly.  I apply about two coats of the L'Oreal Butterfly mascara and my lashes look long and dramatic and make a statement with minimal effort.

Of course I couldn't attribute the great look of my eyes to mascara alone. I found using the L'Oreal Miracle Blur Eye Cream with it's soothing metal applicator tip my eyes look almost airbrushed into perfection. The eye cream is the last step in my skin care routine, but makes a huge impact in my overall beauty look.  The fine lines near my eyes are cammoflauged and diffused making the simple look of bold lashes look even more perfect!

Last but not least I focus on my lips.  Of couse Springtime is for color and what a better way to usher in the season with pretty lips and lip color!  I always make sure my lips are well hydrated and the Nivea a Kiss of Care and Color lip balm is the perfect base to healthy lips.  On days when I just need to rush out of the house, the light color impated from the Nivea lip balm gives me a polished look with little to no effort. At the same time it moisturizes my lips and keeps them looking plump so fine lines are no worry!

Of course a more pronounced color is fun to slick on and the L'Oreal Color Riche liquid lipstick is a great little investment. This shiny liquid lip stain is a hybrid of a gloss, liquid lipstick and a lip stain all in one.  There are a bunch of colors to choose from so I picked a few, but my go to color is Blushing Harmony Sensation. It's a my lips but better color.  It is shiny and moisturizing and smells lightly of apricots.  The foam applicator is nice and works well for what it is, but a lip brush might be needed for the bolder colors.

So here is the finished look.
Wavy hair, fresh faced and sweet lips.  Easy and low maintenance for Spring, thanks to the Beauty Deals at Walgreens!

  1. I tried the regular Miracle Blur and I hated it. Didn't do any blurring whatsoever :-( I like the look of that Nivea lip care though. My lips need a lot of TLC in winter.

  2. Your hair looks great! When my hair is long it's quite wavy/curly/frizzy. My solution to that was to chop it off. I'll keep that L'Oreal curling cream in mind once my hair grows back out.

  3. Your hair is gorgeous! I really like this whole look (and Walgreens is offering 20% off beauty products right now--great timing).

  4. I wish I could buy L'Oreal, but their animal-testing status puts them off the radar, for me.
Oh, well; there are plenty of other good reds out there ...

  5. I bought that same Color Riche and apparently it is the EXACT same color as my lips because you can't see it at all. I can feel it but it looks as if I have nothing on.

  6. Well then, you have beautiful natural lips!

  7. I have to admit. I had a brief affair with my straightener this weekend. It was amazing!

  10. Nooo! Don't chop it off! There are so many great products to tame that frizzy hair, no need to cut it. :-)

  11. I'm sorry Miracle blur didn't do anything for you. I bet the eye stuff would give you similar results...The Nivea lip Kiss of Care and Color balms are nice, but not as moisturizing as I would have liked.

  12. So do I, but it's never stopped me before. lol

  13. You have beautiful hair!! The final look is perfection, you look great, and the mu is very light and wearable for everyday. I'm most interested in the Nivea lip balm.

  14. Polar vortex isn't a nickname, it's an actual meteorological term.

  16. I love the pictures you took in this one! I'm definitely envious of your hair, since mine is super straight. It's gorgeous! I've been using a lot of tinted lip balm lately, especially the NYX ones.

  17. Thanks so much! I am jealous of people with straight hair. LOL always want what you can't have. How are the NYX blams? Moisturizing?

  18. Guuuurl :) I love your hair like this, WOW, but I've definitely seen your lashes look much better... they usually look great and this mascara doesn't do them justice at all, in my opinion! Anyway, I also love how smooth and shiny your lips look with the liquid lipstick, I might have to check those out!

  19. Thanks! As for the lashes. It just goes to show that one mascara is not perfect for everyone. People RAVE about this mascara but I did not find it earth shattering. I will say that it's nice and doesn't flake and gives decent volume and holds a curl well. That's pretty much all I can ask from mascara...but I have stubby and sparse lashes so I need a little more help than others.
The liquid lipstick is very nice. I picked up 2 other colors and will review soon!

  20. I know! And I have NYX's Color Lip Balm in Thank You, which is a bright pinky-red. I really like it. It goes on smooth and makes my lips soft. I wouldn't say it's moisturizing enough if your lips are super dry and chapped, but it's a good lip balm for day-to-day. The staying power isn't so great since it's a little slippery, but it's okay. I've been dying to try their Butter Lip Balms!

  21. What kind of feel does the hair product give? Is it crunchy or soft - your hair is beautiful I've got red curly hair and it's hard to find good products.

  22. Hi: It's soft. not crunchy and not drying..however it is not a strong hold, so you will need a gel or mousse to maintain the curl.
