I saw Lhasa the other day and instantly thought of the Silent Treatment taupe. They are spot on dupes for each other, but maybe the NARS lasts longer.

Great review!!! You literally make me L to the OLth power. I am going to march right over to NARS when I get in to bless my lids with this masterful Taupe. Silly - I work in cosmetics but you really give these products life - I guess there is always so much around me that I get numb to it. Thanks for the wake-up call. PS love your new banner.

I love this shadow but I loved your fantasy conversation w/play school moms even more! Do you know the names of the parents in your son's day care? I am still getting over the fact that I will only be known as 'Gabi's mom' by all the parents no matter how many times I will introduce myself and say my name clearly. I'm just glad the teachers will call me by my name. It's like high school all over again - you just want to be known and liked by these people since we have a common interest - our kids! So frustrating at times..

Oooo I know this is NARS and that alot of your other taupes are high end. But you might consider the lid color in Wet n Wilds Color Icon palette "Silent Treatment" It's a gorgeous mauvy, grey, brown taupe that has a lot of complexity,a wonderful buttery texture and wears phenomenally well for a drug store brand ... AND it's cheap as dirt. Having said that (and already owning Silent Treatment) I'll probably be springing for Lhasa. :0)

Awesome, that is exactly why I got it. I love how NARS does their "Night Series" eyeshadows (Night Porter is my favorite of all time ever), and I was hoping Arabian Nights would be similar to those.

No I did not get the Arabian Nights trio from NARS. Not because the quality was bad. I heard the quality is excellent. I didn't get it because I don't wear enough black shadow to warrant the purchase. I think the main problem people had w/ this trio is that they expected to get different colors when all they got was black,black and black. If you want it to as a subtle touch of purple or red or silver shimmer to an already black smokey eye then this is the palette for you. But if you are expecting actual colors other than black, skip it.

"Only" $23? LOLZ. You've been buying high-end too long, you lucky woman. $23 is a bargain if you compare it to Chantecaille or By Terry; compared to what most people can afford, it's 3x the "only" cost of a drugstore product.
