Ineke Field Notes From Paris - Lusty Love of Tobacco Leaf & Patchouli
I have to write this review for Field Notes from Paris, Ineke's newest addition to her line of fragrances, quickly because... well, to be blunt, I sprayed some on Mr. Sith and I am in love all over again.
I received my sample directly from Ineke this afternoon. I had been in communication with them since I wrote the review on her deluxe sample collection that I purchased a while back. Ineke was gracious enough to send me a sample of the new Perfume which debuted at the end of September. I wrote about the press release here.
Let me get down to the nitty gritty.
This 6th fragrance, "F" as in Field Notes From Paris, is a complete and utter turn around for the mild and flowery scents that are A through E.
Field Notes From Paris is sex in a bottle.
The top notes are Coriander Seed Orange Flower and Bergamot. You might spray this and think. "Oh no. Another fruity floral." But wait. PATIENCE!
After the dry down from the initial spritz, Field Notes From Paris mellows into a STRONG Tobacco Flower & Leaf, Patchouli and Cedar knock out. Let me say I am NOT a fan of Patchouli, but whatever Patchouli Ineke used in this fragrance is amazing. The sweet and masculine tobacco combined with the cedar is just lusty.
As I said, I sprayed some on Mr. Sith, who a) complained that it was too fruity upon first spray but then when it mellowed he liked it as much as I did...or perhaps he just liked my reaction to it because a come hither look was in my eyes as I sniffed his wrist. b) He threatened to rub his wrists together and flail them about, which would prematurely dry the fragrance and ruin the scent. But he didn't. I have trained him well. He knows better than to do do this senseless act to a fine fragrance.
Field Notes From Paris finally melted into a tobacco mixed with the base notes of Tonka Bean Leather Beeswax and Vanilla. Tonka Bean smells like a combination of vanilla, almonds, cinnamon, and cloves. Yum! I could also smell the leather and the slightest hint of beeswax.
Of course I sprayed myself as well but I much prefer this scent on Mr. Sith. This is a fragrance that could be worn by both men and women. I think Joeybunny might love this fragrance.
Now if you don't mind, we have put Darthypie to bed early, I'm typing like mad and Mr. Sith is spraying himself with Field Notes From Paris....so I have to run! Ta ta for now!
