Quick Review by Joeybunny - Lancome Chris and Tell lipstick

This is a quick review guys - I wanted to get these pictures up as quickly as possible considering that this lipstick JUST came out. Literally, it just debuted yesterday and is almost completely sold out.

What lipstick is it? It’s Lancome Chris and Tell, the latest in the Pout-a-Porter series (which had such classics as Behnaz Red, Proenza Pink, and my favorite lipstick ever, PS Kiss). Designer Chris Benz has created a very spring-y, happy color. It is a peachy-pink that looks salmony on me. It seems to be almost unflattering on my NC40 complexion, but I think I love it. It’s bright, it’s there, and it smells like violets! Also it is creamy as hell (creamy enough that I feel as if it might slide off my lips). I just need to figure out how to wear it, exactly. I’m thinking either a mod 60s matte white and brown eye, or a shimmery purple eye (yeah, I aim for unflattering and theatrical!).

Note that my pictures of the lipstick itself are somewhat unreliable. The color is truest in my FOTD picture.

The lipstick retails for $29 and if you think you want it, call every Lancome counter or Lancome boutique within reach! Good luck!

I think it looks great on you! I think I'm lemming it...I've always been a sucker for peachy-pinks.

Oooh, I love the color but I probably would just wait a bit until I see it in real life since I might have found a pretty close dupe for the color.

Looks good, Joey! My favorite l/s shade is coral or pinky-peach, but I'm sure we won't get it here in wild west. *cries*

Oh MAN, that looks gorgeous on you! I would love to see this in person ... would you happen to know if this is exclusive to particular stores?

I figure I should ask before I bust my hump looking for it LOL ;)

Ohhhhhh! Dude, I saw this on MUA the other night and was so confused as to why it was so special. Totally makes sense now! Very pretty!! And I so want a peachy pink exactly like that too!!!

When I read your post on MUA, I called a Lancome boutique in California to get on a waitlist....they said they'd call me next week. If anyone else is interested, these boutiques are listed on Lancome's website. The top picture is gorgeous--I'm here clutching my cell phone waiting for the call!

Shao - Thanks! It's a very nice lipstick if you can manage to find it.

Citrine - You may not see it in real life, haha, but any salmony peachy pink would be close to its color.

LipstickChick - There were only something like 2500 of this lipstick made for purchase. Call any and every Lancome counter near you, or call a Lancome boutique!

Catherine - Yeah, it's the LE hype that makes it so special.

Marley - ILU! Thank you! I still am not quite sure how I feel about it though.

Amy - Good luck! and thank you!

That is a very cute shade on you - I'm a NC 42 I don't think it would be flattering on me at all. It would probably make me look like an old lady on her way to play Canasta...

Lexi - Yeah, it wouldn't recommend it for you.

Joey, I think that lip color looks faboosh on you!!! It is not unflattering AT ALL. I pre-ordered it from Lancome last week and CAN'T WAIT for it to get here. All the review say it will look good on ANY skin tone. It does look great on you though!!!

I can't wait to get my hands on this tube. Lancome said I am going to get my prizes by February. Girls, you might want to check out my blog. I am giving one away when it reaches me.

If this would be any help...
Call Saks Fifth Avenue at (212) 940-2033 to add your name to the waiting list.
