Chanel Paradoxal Nail Polish

Chanel has already come out with the New Fall 2010 Collection. Now believe me when I tell you that I LOVE Chanel and there isn't much I don't like about the line, but July? Fall? Ugh. I was just getting into the swing of things planning my next heat stroke and Chanel Springs fall on me. As much as I adore high end cosmetics they do seem to come out with Fall collections earlier and earlier it seems. But then again I have really poor memory from a Vitamin B-12 deficiency so that could just be me forgetting too.

So the other day...on my birthday I saunter over to Saks Fifth Avenue and go directly to the Chanel counter to molest their fall makeup display. This is the one with THREE new JC blushes in the collection....remember? Yeah well. I am on a tight budget right now so I can't quite afford everything I want from the collection but let me tell you, no matter what you purchase. no penny will go to waste with the fantastic color scheme they have for this fall. I had a very helpful and sweet Chanel Sales Assistant that helped me with my selection. Since I'm a taupe eye shadow fiend and a purple nail polish-aholic I had to get at least those two items from the collection. The blushes will have to wait along with the eyeshadow quartet. Today I will bring you the new nail polish from the Chanel 2010 Fall collection. It is called Paradoxal.

Chanel Nail Polish is Paradoxal is hard to describe color wise and almost as hard to photograph. This is one of those polishes that looks completely different int he bottle than it does on your nails. It is also one of those polishes that looks different on your nails depending on the angle of your hand and/or the lighting. The lovely SA from Chanel at Saks described Paradoxal as if the 2 polishes, Particulière and Vendetta had a child. And you know what. I totally see how she saw that. Paradoxal has the creamy taupe of Particulière and the deep purple of Vendetta with a touch of the shimmer from Vendetta...but you can only see it at certain angles. What a clever observation. I wish I had thought of it myself.

So I have said in the past that Chanel polishes aren't always worth the high price one has to pay for them. I'm not sure if they changed the formula or what, but ever since I purchased Kaleidoscope back in 2009 I have not had the same problems with chipping and short wear times as I have in the past with Chanel brands nail polishes. This is a good thing and a bad thing. It's good because I can recommend Chanel polishes without the guilt of thinking it might chip on you in a day, and bad, because now there are a bunch of other Chanel shades I want to own like Particulière and Vendetta for starters.

Do you NEED this? Well I have to say that in my VAST collection of purple and taupe polishes I have never come across a polish as beautiful and unique as this one. It will look great in the fall, but right now, being that it's only July it does seem out of place, but wait until that first crisp day in September and break out this winner. It is unusual and I bet you don't have anything quite like it!

  3. I was going to put my bottle away until late August but this post is making me want to use this for my next manicure next week. I only bought this and vert khaki shadow so far. I am thinking about going back for the taupe and one of the glossimers.

  6. Dailypolish: Hey at least you didn't pay UK prices...however I think both those shades are totally worth the cost!

Jeweled Thumb: You do need this. It is unique. It's almost like MAC Moth Brown in nail polish form! *not helping*

Lexi920: I know how you feel. It doesn't help that 2 other blogs featured this polish on the same day! You need Taupe Grise eyeshadow! NEED IT!

Nea: Thanks! It really looks better in person that I could capture on camera. Very unique color for sure!

Shimmering2light: Yeah. I have retired this color until at least September.
