PINKSITH stands at a podium in a dimly lit room with a naked light bulb hanging overhead.  the room is smokey and dim and there are hundreds of faceless women in the audience.

PINKSITH
Hello. My name is PinkSith and I am an addict.

Hi PinkSith

PINKSITH
Hello.  I appreciate you all allowing me to share my story with you.  It all started back in May of 2011.  I was only curious. I thought I could just look around.  I thought I could just browse and be done with it.  I was so very wrong. Twenty eight days later I had placed an order with THEM for IT.  I didn't know that Pandora's box had been opened. As soon as I received IT I knew there was no turning back.

VOICE IN FACELESS GROUP #1
Who is THEM and what is IT PinkSith?

PINKSITH
(clearing her throat)
THEM is Zuneta.com a UK based beauty retailer that deals in brands from All For Eve to Yllume What's in the middle is IT. IT is Rouge Bunny Rouge Cosmetics. Zuneta seems to be the only place I know of to sate my addiction to Rouge Bunny Rouge cosmetics.  I fear that I may never be free of the wanton desire for high quality eyeshadow and Rouge Bunny Rouge is fast becoming the axis to a  balanced palette of colors, with wearable, blendable and adaptable textures and shades.

VOICE IN FACELESS GROUP #2
You can do it PinkSith. You can throw down the shackles of High End Cosmetic Addiction and settle for lesser quality off brand cosmetics.  Be strong!  One Day At A Time! look at us.  We don't use good quality cosmetics any more and we look just fine.

Pan to shot of FACELESS GROUP and pan back to PINKSITH horror stricken expression.

PINKSITH
(nervously)
You know what. I think I'm OK with the higher end brands.  Ummm. yeah.  I think I might be in the wrong meeting.  I'm gonna go now.  I'll just back my way out of the room and...

VOICE IN FACELESS GROUP #3
GET HER! She's trying to get away! Maybe she has some Rouge Bunny Rouge Shadow on her right now.  Oh how I would KILL for a chance to wear Rouge Bunny Rouge Shadow just ONE MORE TIME!

Melee ensues.  Makeup is being strewn about. Mostly bad but some treasures mixed in.

VOICE IN FACELESS GROUP #2
Look there is Rouge Bunny Rouge Delicate Hummingbird!

The sweet RBR Logo embossed on the top of the Smoky amethyst shadow.  Hints of silver and gold blend in and make the most lovely purple one has ever laid eyes upon.

VOICE IN FACELESS GROUP #1
See how it looks almost like a fine piece of art? The shadow is finely milled and slightly hard to the touch. I would say it resembles the hardness of Bobbi Brown eyeshadows with the same great long lasting pigmentation.  GIVE IT TO ME!

More struggling and the shadow is knocked loose from PINKSITH's hands

VOICE IN FACELESS GROUP #3
(swatching the Rouge Bunny Rouge Delicate Hummingbird shadow on her arm)
When worn with a primer this gem is a workhorse of a shadow that will last a good 10 hours or more.  The purple is not red based so lining your eyes with the shadow does not lean toward that "I'm sick with Ebola virus" look. It leans more cool and gives that. "I'm a mysterious Russian Tzarina who may or may not make you fall in love with me from across the room" look. I MUST HAVE IT!

PINKSITH
(snatching the Rouge Bunny Rouge Delicate Hummingbird Shadow away)
Listen to me!  I just want to leave peacefully. I don't want any problems with you.  Let me go and I won't report you to the Beauty Police.  Let me go and I promise to never darken your doors again.

FACELESS GROUP

 Noooooooooooooo!

VOICE IN FACELESS GROUP #2
Tell us how you got it and how much it cost?  At least do us that one kindness.

PINKSITH
(sighing)
OK.  I purchased it for £ 22.00 (approximately $30-$35 USD depending on the conversion rate) and I got it from Zuneta.com.  And yes. You NEED it!  There  Are you happy now?

PINKSITH wipes away a lone tear from her cheek showing that she is wearing the Rouge Bunny Rouge shadow on her lid with Armani Eyes To Kill Intense #4 to highlight and Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion on upper lid as her EOTD.

GET HER!

The FACELESS GROUP swarms PINKSITH and bits of makeup and cosmetics sponges and brushes are thrown about.

  1. AHA! I've said a million times on MUA that this is pure purply taupe gorgeousness and nobody would listen! (well, I was probably too early, RBR wasn't in their radar back then).

    OF COURSE EVERYBODY NEEDS IT!

  2. Please write ALL your reviews like this. Rabid hoardes and high end MU are a perfect match.

  5. HAHA this is the best review ever!! What got me laughing out loud, literally, was picturing cosmetic sponges bouncing off of people's heads at the end. lol. anyhow, great swatch. I think MUA should = makeup artist OR makeup anonymous. Hi, I'm Jenn, and I'm a makeup addict.

  7. At the risk of being banished from Makeup Addicts Anon I admit I do not own Delicate Hummingbird did I hear gasps? But I did just place an order for Abysinnian Catbird can I still be in the club?

  8. Damn, you're right - I really liked this post, too! :P And Humming bird looks amazing, of course.

    Darn you!

  9. Great post! Wave goodbye to the money as the RBR addiction begins ;)

  10. Welcome to the world of RBR :D I am obsessed with this brand too, and I love this eyeshadow. I get compliments whenever I wear it, without fail. It looks amazing on you!

  11. You are hilarious! I have never tried RBR - but Marcia did a guest post on my site for a blush and I think they have the coolest logo I've ever seen - and they have "bunny" in the name...It's so easy to talk myself into buying stuff!!

  12. aah You gave me a much needed laugh and unfortunately more encouragement to buy that oh so lovely delicate hummingbird shadow that I've been eyeing on Zuneta regularly. lol

  13. I can't decide if I hate you for making me want this eyeshadow more than ever, or if I love you for writing what may be the greatest blog post of all time.

  15. Are RBR Delicate Hummingbird and Inglot P420 similar?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. RBR is more purple than Inglot P420. Inglot P420 is more grey based and slightly more opaque.

    2. Thank you!
(I was sorta hoping there was a less expensive dupe for Delicate Hummingbird.)

Since you're online... I was hoping to get your opinion on the mattes. I've read someone say that the Inglot mattes are excellent. Do you happen to know if they rival the RBR mattes?

    3. You're welcome! I only have one RBR Matte shadow and I do not think it is as nice as the Inglot matte shadows I own. I think Inglot has some of the nicer matte shadows on the market, but I am NOT a matte shadow expert by any means.

    4. Thanks for your help and honesty. :) Which RBR matte do you have?

    5. You're welcome again. I just looked and I guess this is not a true matte from RBR. I have Gracious Arasari which, upon closer inspection, seems to have some shimmer in it. Sorry. about that. Well I still think Inglot Mattes are awesome!

    6. Sweet :) I've yet to check them out in person. The great thing about Inglot is that it is a lot more affordable than RBR, so I feel better about making a "blind" purchase. I've really appreciated your help. To be honest, this post is "old" so I didn't know if you'd see my comment.

Random fun keyboard text picture of the day in thanks:

It's a text that Liz Lemon sent to Jack in an episode of 30 Rock. Liz: "Hold it sideways. It’s me going like this:'Talk to your mother!' The eight are my glasses.”

  16. Great post! I've fallen for the siren song of high-end, but have yet to submit to buying RBR...
