Red Lips Week Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Zivoli - Review Pictures Swatches

It's Red Lips Week on the Pink Sith Blog again.  This week I am focusing on the "high end" red lip products.  (Anything over $18)  My goal is to highlight sumptuous formulas, bold reds, and statement making lip products that almost any woman can wear.  Red lips are just not confined to this week. Check out the Red Lips tag and you will see over 45 entries related to red lips on this blog alone!

Today I bring you a lipstick from a relatively new brand to me.

This company hails from The Great White North, Canada.  Their website is one page.  Really?  I am actually interested in learning more about the brand but I was not able to garner any other info than they are from Canada and they are sold exclusively through Sephora. Regardless, Bite Beauty offers a interesting collection of lip products featuring super antioxidant resveratrol. According to Sephora.com, the colors and formula were designed by industry-leading makeup artists. The Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick formula boasts an all-natural ingredient list which includes organic shea butter, superfoods, and food-grade colors, making them good enough to eat!  Bite claims that the Luminous Creme Lipstick delivers super antioxidant resveratrol, which fights free radicals with potent long-term antiaging benefits. Each lipstick contains the amount of resveratrol found in five glasses of red wine. OH REALLY?  Mmmm Wine.  No. You won't get drunk just by wearing this lipstick, but that would be kinda cool.  I digress.  The Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick is formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, GMOs, and Triclosan.

The business at hand is red lips.  And Bite Beauty's best red lip is the shade called Zivoli. Described as a Brick Red on Sephora.com, I found Zivoli to be a true neutral red.  Slightly toned down with just a soupcon of brown. This red would be flattering on just about anyone.  I truly love this color. I could wear this on a daily basis it is just that awesome!

The feel of this lipstick is superb.  Silky and smooth. it has excellent slip and is super moisturizing.  The lipstick is slightly hard but not waxy. It feels wonderfully light on the lips and has a sheer application that is very buildable.

OK. Here's a unique thing about this lipstick. The caps of the tubes are different depending on what family of colors you are buying from.  Bite Beauty goes even farther to "classify" your personality based on how your used lipstick ends up looking.  I don't really subscribe to this type of personality classification but here is what they have posted on Sephora.com:

REDS - sharp angled tip
Energetic and impulsive, you are a social butterfly. You're envied for how well you wear those red shades! Quick, sharp strokes from the heart to the edges of your lips create the distinctly angled mould conveying your contagious passion for life.

NEUTRALS - natural slant
Always calm under pressure, you take your time with things, even when applying your lipstick. Perfectly even, your lipstick moulds into a natural slant which reflects your trustworthy and likeable nature.

PINKS - curved
You prefer to wear pink shades because you're bright and optimistic. A true romantic, creativity is your strength and draws people towards you. You apply your lipstick in long flowing strokes, producing this smooth angled curve that reflects your cheerful outlook on life.

BERRIES - point
Loveable and curious, you're a free spirit who enjoys going on an adventure. Your adoration for berry colors reflects your breezy, no-fuss persona. Many call you charismatic, exotic even. You like a shade that is easily worn day or night and you apply your lipstick in a way that creates the double slant of perfect symmetry.

Um. OK.  I can see parts of my personality in each lipstick shape they mention....except for the "point" because I am not a free spirit. I like planning and routine and I am definitely not a "no-fuss" personality. I am the antithesis of "no-fuss" I enjoy high maintenance routine!

Do you NEED this?  Yes.  Great formula. AWESOME color  cute packaging.  What's not to love?  Wanna know how much I love this lipstick?  I didn't crack ANY jokes about Canada in this entire post!!.  Yesh.  THAT MUCH!  Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick retails for $24 USD and is available exclusively at Sephora USA and Canada and via the Sephora.com website.  Now if they would just update the Bite Beauty website...

  1. I love red lipstick on you, but I think this one looks EXCEPTIONAL. The formula just *looks* like it lays perfectly, if that makes any sense. Very, very beautiful!

  2. Thanks for the review. Love your logo by the way. Oh and we're working on the site. For now Sephora.com is your best bet. Thanks for not making fun of us for living up in Canada! I can tell you that we make all our lipstick in-house in Toronto! Elena makeupjunkie / member of the BITE Beauty team

  3. I'm a recent convert to Bite myself. I picked up Carmenere, which is another luscious red, although a bit cooler and brighter (meaning it's not as wearable day to day), it's also a gorgeous shade. Can't wait to buy more, once I get all that having to buy presents for other people thing out of the way.

  4. I want one of these lipsticks because:

    1) They look like sex toys.
    2) That color looks awesome.
    3) The sweet comment one of their employees left you!
