Chanel Fall 2012 Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss Pure Shine Intense Colour Long Wear Lip Gloss in Troublant - Review, Swatches, Pictures

Once upon a time there was a little girl that adored her music teacher.  Her music teacher was plain in the looks department, but had the most beautiful lips ever seen.  They were pouty without being sad and plump without being fat.  As the little girl listened to her teacher she was mesmerized by the plummy brown lip color the teacher always wore.  The color looked like her teacher's natural lips, but better (If that was even possible).  The sweet color lent an air of sophistication to her teacher's otherwise forgettable looks.  The little girl vowed to one day find a lip color such as that and vowed to wear it in honor of her teacher and as a tribute to all things that are beautiful in an otherwise overlooked and unembellished landscape.

The vow was almost achieved a few times, but sadly circumstances beyond her control dashed her hopes of success.  In 7th grade she thought she found the same color and asked for it as a birthday present.  Sadly her wishes went unanswered as she opened gifts of socks and cassette tapes of new wave bands.  Then in college she thought she found the lip color again, but alas on a poor college budget the price was too high. She made note of the color and tried to find it once she did have the funds but it was gone, like it never existed in the first place.  Then many years later she found a lipstick from Armani that fit the bill, and it was very close, but over time she realized that this color was a tad too dark to be THE COLOR she was looking for.  But then it happened.

Chanel Fall 2012 was released. She went to her local Neiman Marcus to pick up what she though was just going to be a blush and a highlighter and while she waited for the sales associate to get her items held for her in the back she saw IT.  What was this "it"?

Chanel Fall 2012 Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss Pure Shine Intense Colour Long Wear Lip Gloss in Troublant!  Described best as a plummy brown which pulled more plum than brown on her fair skin, this color was the color she had been searching for all these years!  Victory!  She purchased the gloss, applied it as soon as possible and she was transported back in time to an era of maxi dresses, large frame sunglasses, platform shoes and long straight hair....Oh wait. No she wasn't. That's today. She wasn't transported at all. It's just the fashions of the late 1970's/ early 1980's are "in" again.  Oh well.  She had her gloss and that's all that mattered.

The Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss in Troublant is limited edition, so the little girl, all grown up might want to consider getting a back up.  The Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss is called a "Pure Shine Intense Colour Long Wear Lip Gloss."  This could not be a more exact and accurate definition of a Chanel gloss The girl has ever read.  The shine is intense.  Not like "I just ate a bucket of fried chicken" shiny, but more like "I have vinyl on my lips" shiny.  The color is intense. Not like "I just used house paint on my lips", but more like "this color stands out but does not diminish the natural beauty of my actual lips" intense.  The wear is intense. Not like "I put this on and then sealed it with superglue and nothing but acetone will remove it", more like, "I just ate a tea biscuit and drank my morning cuppa and I still see some of the color and shine (although definitely muted) of my original gloss application" type wear.  The gloss wasn't sticky but it definitely felt like she was wearing gloss.  It wasn't greasy, more like the feeling of honey before it warms up upon contact with your skin. it's not unpleasant.  The gloss has no flavor and a light scent which makes the little girl, all grown up very happy.

Do you NEED this? YES!  YES! YES! If you are as obsessed as finding that lipstick match as the little girl in the story was. (probably unlikely)  Or if you really like a good plummy brown/mauve lip color. Let's face it, that color looks great on almost everyone!  Troublant means Disturbing in English.  I would find it disturbing if you didn't get the Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss Pure Shine Intense Colour Long Wear Lip Gloss in Troublant.  I purchased mine from Neiman Marcus. The NM website has all the fall products listed. Call Kathy Shoreman if you absolutely cannot wait at 571-533-4972

  8. omg I NEED that. And the blush. I'm still of two minds about the highlighter, though...I don't know why, I'm just not loving it. But the lip gloss *will* be mine.

    1. Hi Rebecca! Hey not everyone has to love the same things I love. Think of it this way. By skipping the highlighter you save money for the Gloss and perhaps the highlighter from the Bombay collection coming out in July and on the Chanel page right now. *is evil enabler*
