Inglot Eyeshadows - Review, Pictures, Swatches

This is my third Inglot Freedom System 10 Pan palette.  There is obviously something awesome about Inglot shadows if I am going to own 30 of these little gems!  Far more pigmented than MAC eyeshadows, Softer than Bobby Brown, More luxurious than Chantecaille, Inglot shadows are the be all end all in eyeshadowosity!  (Yeah. I made up that word)

Last year I reviewed my FIRST Inglot Eyeshadow 10 Pan Freedom System Palette. I went into great detail about Inglot cosmetics' beginning, where they were located, how many stores they had, etc.  If you ask me it was very informative. If you would like to read that before proceeding with this review, feel free.  I'll wait.......Hey, while the other people are looking at that review, let's talk about them while they can't hear usss...Oh You're back!  Super.  No. We weren't saying anything about you. No. In fact we were talking about how much you would probably like my next post about my SECOND 10 pan palette from Inglot.  Yeah. Check it out. I don't mind waiting. ........ OK. They are gone. Can you believe them?  So paranoid. Like the world revolves around them and we spend every waking moment talking about them.  Jeesh! Such Ego!  Oh HAI!  You're back again. Um No.  Ego?  No. I didn't say Ego. I said Ergo. As in Therefore. From the Latin, "Cogito ergo sum". I think therefore I am.  You know Descartes. Rene Descartes. 17th Century Philosopher.  Whatever. We were just waiting for you to get back.

So here I am with palette number three.  You may be thinking "30 shadows? That's exorbitant!"  To which I reply. Exorbitant is my 2nd middle name! Elvira Taupe Excessive Exorbitant Pink Sith.  It's a mouth full. The shadow cost has increased since I last purchased them.  They have gone up $1 and the 10 pan palette has gone up $2 so the total cost for 10 shadows and 1 palette is $76. ($6 shadows $16 palette)  But a 10 pan Inglot Freedom System Palette is still $50 less than a custom Urban Decay 6 pan, build your own palette. It is only $1 more than a Tom Ford 4 pan eyeshadow palette. It's $176 LESS Than a custom filled 8 pan Chantecaille Eyeshadow Palette.  (See how I justify?)  Sure. You can get 10 elf eyeshadows for $10 and I can get a 99 color eyeshadow palette from a multitude of sellers for $20, but when you compare the QUALITY of an Inglot Eyeshadow to elf eyeshadow, it's no contest. Inglot blows most other shadows out of the water...kinda like how Bobbi Brown blows on her makeup brushes. (That's another post entirely)

Inglot shadows are some of the most pigmented, most even textured, best blending, and LONGEST LASTING shadows I have ever used.  Not only does Inglot offer a freedom system to customize your palettes it offers a variety of finishes and textures in the shadows.  Matte, Pearl, Shine, Double Shine, etc. The varying finishes and similar colors in the different finishes, the quality and price makes some cosmetic companies look like amateur hour by all other standards.

Let's look at the beautiful colors, shall we?

M 352 - A matte peach. A great highlight color or all over wash if you want a very light eye with a dark liner as a contrast.
P 397 - A pearl peach color.  It's not as pink as most peach colors, which I prefer. It can look almost like nothing against my lid, but the pearl quality gives it some depth
P 418 - A warm yellow based green pearl with slight gold shimmer.
P 414 - A cool blue based green pearl with slight silver shimmer

DS 461 - Double shimmer tan taupe with gold shimmer. A great base shade for an all over wash.
P 419 - A Khaki green/Olive green pearl with metallic qualities. Very "On Trend" for this fall and simply stunning worn on it's own
DS 465 - A much deeper taupe brown with gold shimmer. A great crease color as well a perfect for a warm brown smokey eye.
AMC 40 - A rich true purple with lots of silver glitter. Don't worry, there's no fall out with this baby!

A repeat of DS 465 and AMC 40
DS 458 - A rich sooty grey brown with gold shimmer. STUNNING as a liner and in the crease
P 446 - A more true purple pearl. Not as wine colored as the purples in my 2nd palette but not as bright as the purple in my 1st palette.  Has an almost metallic quality to it.

This third palette has a decent mix of brows and colors. I wanted to build up the tans/taupes of my 1st palette and add more color choices.  Eventually I will rearrange all three palettes so I'll have a greys, browns, and colors set up.  I might need a 4th palette to add to the color array, but that's for a different time.

Here are the swatches for your review.

Do you NEED these?  YES!  If you have resisted purchasing in the past, isn't this third palette enough to push you over that cliff and fall into the sea with all the other lemmings?  Inglot shadows are so awesome I feel as if awesome is insufficient an adjective to describe how awesome they really are astonishing, awe-inspiring, beautiful, breathtaking, grand,  impressive, magnificent, stunning,  wonderful, wondrous (Thanks thesaurus.com!)  But seriously. If I could only have one brand of shadows to last me the rest of my life, and let's face it. I'm old and i have shadows that will outlive me, I would want those shadows to be Inglot shadows. Would my Inglot palette be the thing I grab to save in a house fire?  Of course not. I can always re-order those.  I'd grab my Shu Uemura ME 945 eyeshadow, because even a company as wonderful as Inglot has yet to dupe that color.

These EOTD shots are to show you how the shadows look on the eye, versus swatched on an arm. I make no claim to artistry or originality. I'm a Base, Crease, Highlight Liquid Liner type gal.

    1. I think they look just as good in the pan as they do on the eye, but yeah, it's how it looks on the eye that's important. :-)

  9. XD Great use of a Thesaurus! Or should I say "terrific". Uhm "excellent" sounds too academic... uh-oh, synonimic* loop. Damn it, another lobotomy >.<
I'm in love with Inglot, mostly e/s, cream blushes and Duraline. Love that you got 414, 352 and 418, they were in my palettes as well. It weirds me out a little that you didn't get 390, it's a matte greige that looks like the most perfect softest taupe for blending in pale skins. If you ever visit Inglot, get to try it, I got it on a whim and honestly 352 and this are the only shades I use every day.

*90% chance is a word I just made up.

I just placed an order with them last night, but I forgot to order the Palette! I think I might need to go back and place another....Thanks for the great swatches!;)

  17. I'm really wary of buying online because their website is a pain, but next week I'll be in NJ right near a mall with an Inglot store--not a counter, an actual store. So there will be shopping.

  19. Even though Inglot has increased it's prices, there is really nothing like it for the money. There are high end brands that produce great eyeshadows, (Dior, Chanel, Bobbi Brown, etc) but seriously $25, $30 for an eyeshadows! Not that I haven't paid that much for high end eyeshadows I had to have, but I admit I have a problem. I am addicted to eyeshadows!!
Anyway, back to the point. Inglot makes the most wonderful eyeshadows and could probably charge twice the price. If you haven't tried them, what are you waiting for??!

  20. Wanting soooooooooooo badly. Thinking of ditching all my eyeshadows for a more uniform approach and loving the Inglot. Only have 3 of them in a glam-smoky-eye look and they're the older circle shadow.

  21. Wow. My jaw pretty much dropped. I'm a huge fan of MAC (and BACK2MAC) but these Inglot swatches are so incredibly beautiful and definitely seem to be very high quality for a reasonable price. I tried to convince myself I don't need another eyeshadow, and I definitely don't need TEN more... but I'm pretty sure I'm going to make this my next makeup purchase. :)

  22. I have a few Inglot shadows & they are fantastic! I'll pit them against any other brand (high, mid, doesn't matter) - any day! You picked some absolutely stunning colors to add to your collection! The only drawback is finding accurate swatches online to help you guess what you are getting. With accurate swatches on their website, IMO their sales would go through the roof. I'm not a fan of the Freedom palettes though. I'm with BooBoo Ninja - would love to see someone identify an Inglot dupe for Chante Sel.

  23. I recently went to the Inglot store in Times Square to take a look at their shadows. Even though they had many colors, many simply were not wearable for me and I HATED the the glittery colors as part of their "shine" collection. I thought there'd be more variety, maybe more brown-based purples that are wearable rather than garish blue-based crayon color purples. Maybe I wasn't impressed because i already have too many shadows. I ended up buying a 4 quad that cost me about $40, which is the same price i'd pay if i bought an urban decay palette and have twice as many colors for the same quality. :\

    1. Hey Anonymous,
Thanks for your honesty and for taking the time to comment. I've never had the benefit of seeing more than 2 Inglot shadows in person (just the 2 I got in a swap) so it helps me to hear honest opinions. What 4 shadows did you choose? What are you thoughts on their payoff, blendability, and wear?

  24. Okay, I'm definitely saving up and getting myself a palette now. I've been pondering it in the back of my mind for months. Time to impose a makeup ban till I've saved up, I just know it will be worth it. In the meantime, I get to try and decide which shades I just neeeeeeed :P xo
