Makeup Wars is back again with a new challenge. If you remember before, we did a $20 face challenge that was surprisingly fun. This time we thought we would go to the extreme and do a Most Expensive Face Challenge. We changed the rules a bit to include Skin Care and Brushes to our totals. We also allowed items from our existing cosmetic collection. Any items that were press samples or gifts I have noted beside each item. The rest of the items were purchased by me over a long period of time. Were talking well over a decade! I have also included links to past reviews or links to a store that sells almost each item listed in this post.
A few things I would you all to keep in mind during this post are:
a) I acquired these items over a long period of time. Many items were purchased with funds from advertising on the blog. Other items were gifts or press samples. I do in NO WAY condone purchasing all of this makeup and all of the skincare. This is an excessive amount that no one "needs".
b) I do not normally wear all of this makeup and skin care all at once. The amount of blush I used in this challenge was excessive. No one "Needs" to wear 4 blushes and two concealers and three different powders. But this was done in the spirit of excess and therefore I complied.
c) I am not a hoarder….OK maybe a little…but there is no reason why anyone "needs" all this makeup or "needs" to spend this much on makeup….EVER.
d) I ask that you not judge me by this post. I ask that you consider the fact that I am a beauty blogger so I will have more makeup than a normal person would have. Please also note that many of the items in this post are "well loved" and you can see pan a few items. That means I use these items regularly in my day to day looks.
OK. Let's get started:
Starting with Skin Care. Because that's how I start my day.
Freeze 24/7 Skin Glace Daily Detoxifying Cleanser and Mask (Press Sample). Review Link
Stages of Beauty Harmony Toner (Press Sample) Review Link
Natura Bisse Inhibit Tensolift (Press Sample) to get rid of the lines in my forehead and between my eyes. I will be reviewing this product soon. It's amazing. The high price tag may be "worth" it.
Natura Bisse Stablizing Complex (Press Sample) to help control oil and my acne. This works OK. but nothing works as well as good old Philips Milk of Magnesia!
Chantecaille Nano Gold Energizing Eye Serum (Press Sample) which is AMAZING! I received a press sample so it is not in the original container but it works just as well. That's why I added the "*" in the price total because I'm not sure if it should be included the full cost or not.
Natura Bisse Diamond Extreme Eye Cream (Press Sample) This eye cream is very nice and works as well as the Chanel eye cream I reviewed here.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Anti Aging Mattifying Lotion Review Link
Elta MD UV Clear Sunscreen (Press Sample). Review Link
Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer. Which I have to say does NOT work very well. I'll review it later on the blog.
OK. Now that my face is prepped, I start with the foundation and move along. From here on out I'll just show you what I used and divide it up by Foundation/Face, Cheek/Contour/Bronzer, Eyes, and Lips. I'll end showing you all the brushes I used in this challenge. And finally I'll give you the grand total…but as you can see in the pictures I have put the current prices of all items next to the items.
MUFE Full Cover Concealer Review link
Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base (Gift). This is a great addition to my makeup routine. It makes my face seem lighter and more glowy. I can mix it with foundation to lighten or I can apply it after my primer as a way to impart a glow to the skin.
Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation Review link
La Mer 'The Powder' in Translucent - Is this worth the money? Heck no. But I was blinded by La Mer. I have since found far less expensive powders that preform better.
Cle de Peau Concealer Review Link
Lancome Dual Finish Powder Makeup Review Link
Guerlain Meteorites Voyage Compact Review Link
Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel - Luminous Bronzing Powder in Sable Beige Review Link
Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Nude to contour cheeks and under chin
Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush in Delicata to contour nose

Guerlain Cruel Gardenia to highlight Review Link
Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Strawburn Oh My. Look at the pan showing!
Josie Maran GOGO Instant Natural Volume Argan Mascara Black A very nice and very basic mascara. It conditions my lashes and while I cannot prove it I feel like they grow faster when I use this.
Guerlain Teracotta Khol in Indigo from the Summer Collection (Press Sample) I used this under my eyes. That was a mistake. By mid day I looked like a BLUE Raccoon!
Illamasqua Sealing Gel to use with my Chanel Cake liner.
Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer Review Link
Anastasia Lash Genius Waterproof Top Coat (Press Sample) I will be reviewing this soon as well. This additional step to my mascara routine has made it possible to wear ANY mascara without experiencing flakes, smudges or raccoon eye!

Anastasia Eye Lights Matte
Anastasia Brow Gel Clear

Here are the brushes used in this challenge:
Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush I used this to apply powder under my eye
Sonia Kashuk Spoolie I used this to try and tame my unruly brows
MAC #36 (New #224) Brush I used this ancient brush to blend my eyeshadows
MAC #210 Precise Eye Liner Brush I used this to line my eyes with the Chanel Cake liner
Sephora Classic All Over Shadow Brush Small # 22 I used this to apply all three eyeshadow colors from Le Metier de Beaute
Sephora Flat Domed Shadow Brush. I don't think Sephora makes this any more. I used it to apply highlight to my eyes and for the inner corners of my eyes.
Sephora Classic Brow Brush #10
Le Metier de Beaute Dualistic Eyelash Curler (Gift)
It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Powder Brush (Press Sample)I used this to apply my powder foundation.
Japonesque #333 Brush Review Link I used this to apply my meteorites
Hourglass #2 Foundation/Blush Brush I used this to apply my La Mer Face Powder
Body & Soul #2 Blush Brush (gift) This company is out of business. I received this as a gift because I told a friend how much I wanted a set of Carmindy's brushes. When I found out how much each of them cost I freaked. My friend got me just one. Guess what. That brush is so NOT worth the money. It sheds like crazy and is too fluffy for blush. I use it to blend. I used this to apply my Highlighter
MAC #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush I use this brush to apply my bronzer, but I have used it to apply foundation too. I love it as a foundation brush for certain creme foundations and long wearing foundations. I think this brush is worth every penny. I have purchased dupes of this brush and have yet to find one that works as well as the original MAC 187.
MAC #116 Blush Brush = The best blush brush ever! I seriously love this blush brush to pieces.I used it to apply both blushes. Malice from cheekbone to ears and Tumulte on the apples of my cheeks.
Sonia Kashuk Core Tools Synthetic Pointed Foundation Brush I used this brush for contouring the Rouge Bunny Rouge blush along the sides of my nose and between my cupid's bow along my lips. I love the precise application for blush, but it does work fairly well with some foundations.
Sephora Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush I love this brush. I saw it used in a YT video for concealing acne and I got one right away. Wow. What a difference it makes.. I don't know how I lived without it!
The total. $3,167.48. Holy Crap. That's more than my mortgage, more than what most people make in a month, more than I could imagine. Is the face above "worth" $3,167.48? Hell No! You can easily pull off an equivalent look or better look, with less makeup and less expensive makeup. Thankfully each item used in this challenge allows for multiple uses. (I have to justify somewhere, right?)
Check out these other awesome blogs for their Most Expensive Face Challenge results. I wonder how had the most expensive....
