NARS Sex Fantasy Blush from the Final Cut Collection - Review, Pictures Swatches

After filling in the Title field and as I type this review, I wonder how many hits my blog will get when people are searching for p0rn. I wonder if Google AdSense will delete my account for having inappropriate content because they do word searches rather than image searches and the words "sex fantasy" will come up and I'll be canned.  I kinda wish NARS had a different name for this blush.  Not because I'm a prude. (I'm not) Not because I think sexually racy names for cosmetics is passe. (I do) Not because I might lose my advertizing dollars...or should I say pennies. (It's happened to other bloggers I know)  No. It's because the name of this blush is going to bring a sh*tton of pervs to my blog and they are a) going to be disappointed that there is no p0rn and b) they really won't appreciate the pure beauty of this blush! I hate false advertizing. (And yes I still get a huge number of hits for a review I did for a foot cream called "barefoot fantasy", and we all know they ain't lookin' for foot cream)

Yes. That's right. I think that the NARS Sex Fantasy Blush (NARS SF) from the Final Cut collection, exclusive to Nordstrom and narscosmetics.com (as of March 1, 2014) is STUNNING!

This pale, cool toned, pink blush is a sheer, matte natural looking blush.  It looks as if I was blushing having just had some sort of fantasy of some sort. Yup.  It's full of awesome.

The formula is a smooth and finely milled powder. It's not chalky at all despite being a matte blush.  It glides on the skin like silk and imparts a very sheer, yet natural tint to the cheeks. I was surprised how natural this looked on my skin.  There was little to no fall out and the blush lasted well, even on my oily skin.

But is it for everyone?  Well maybe. NARS SF blush is very light and has a white base to it so if you have fairly dark skin you could make it work, but the application would need to be precise and light handed.  If you have warm or golden toned skin, I don't think this color will work for you. It's just too cool toned.

Do you NEED this?  YES...with a caveat.  1) You have neutral to cool toned skin . 2) You apply appropriately and don't cake it on. (that really goes for ALL blush) and 3) You are not embarrassed by the name.  NARS blush is slowly becoming my second favorite type blush after my beloved Chanel JC. I love the diverse color selection and the fact that the compacts are thinner which means I can fit more in my makeup case!

NARS Final Cut blushes in Sex Fantasy, New Attitude, Love and Final Cute retail for $30 USD and are sold exclusively on nordstrom.com. (They will be coming to narscosmetics.com in March)

What say you?  Do you like the blush color?  What about the name?  Will you all vouch for me when Google AdSense shuts down my account for "adult content"?

  1. Hah! I never even thought about that, but I guess you're right! All those dirty words NARS puts in their product names is sending all the pervs and dirty minds our way! :-) As for this blush, I've had better (pun intended). I have a warm skin tone, so I don't think it would look really good on me.

  2. I like the look of that, I find a lot of seemingly cool toned pink blushers turn warm on me but this one might just work :)

  3. I think I'm blocking out some of the names Nars uses, they don't really mean anything. Like that particular blush that everyone loves but I don't, especially as I don't blush golden peachy-pink. I like the color on your skin, I think I might be a hair too warm for it myself.

  4. The formula looks fantastic--I have a feeling I'm too warm-toned for this, though. Maybe I'll have to try it just in case...

  5. Well, of COURSE you have adult content! A blush this lovely shouldn't be wasted on callow youth.

I'll be checking this one out - looks like it would look pretty good on my light, cool toned skin.
